  1. The biggest tax revenue would come from 7-Elevens and the big supermarkets BigC, Lotus etc, that I am sure pay tax. Also chain restaurants in malls. Thousands of them abide by the ban, try to get a beer in Fiji or MK at 3pm, you can't At the moment, between 2pm and 5pm if you want booze you have to buy from small places, which I agree probably don't pay much tax Does not affect bars as mentioned tea money they open
  2. As I mentioned on another thread, it would boost tax revenues they desperately need
  3. Oh no they are not, unfortunately https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/09/binance-backs-out-of-ftx-rescue-leaving-the-crypto-exchange-on-the-brink-of-collapse.html
  4. No, mine is in an older building, its 49 sq, has a western kitchen, nicely furnished with sea views on the 12th floor with good-sized balcony. Very quiet I did the deal just at the end of covid last November, but landlord says not increase for 2023 Don't want to mention the building sorry
  5. Only one way to find out, go to your bank and ask
  6. Why have they always got goatees?
  7. The thread is about living in Thailand on a budget, not what you spend on holiday
  8. In Pattaya you can have a great life on B30K, spend a bit more on a nicer condo, my rent is B6000, but the building has a gym and really nice pool, and not far from the beach in Jomtien No need to go out every night, when I moved in I got a fast internet and brought a decent PC to download movies. No need for Netflix, watch football for free. I am lucky, I am happy with my own company, if you can learn to do that your life will change. I love sitting at home with my self cooked food, beers from 7-Eleven, playing online or watching sport Get a hobby, mine was learning how to build websites, I now have one that has started to make a small amount, hopefully that will grow. Go out 2/3 nights a week, just as you would in your home country, not many people in the UK go out every night to the pub, that's all changed with £6 a pint
  9. Another banks ATK swallowed my Kbank card recently, was miffed they charged me B400 for something not my fault
  10. Loads on Youtube
  11. More likely you would have to declare it when leaving your own country, I think the UK is no more than £10K in cash is allowed $20,000 or over into Thailand "There is no limit to the amount of physical currency that may be brought into or taken out of Australia. However, travellers entering and departing Australia must report any currency they are carrying of $10,000 or more in Australian dollars, or the foreign currency equivalent"

Well walking street and LK Metro are closing around 2/2:30, so I guess that's the target time, you see plenty of guys getting on their bikes in that area at that time

If you still get on your motorbike after drinking, particularly at night, be very careful the police are having checks all over the city late into the night., unless you want to blow B20,000 Don't mean this to be a right or wrong issue on the subject, but with BOLT being so cheap, it seems a no-brainer to leave the bike at home 02:45 am last night Pratumnak/Threppaya stopping everything for alcohol
  15. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-11371989/DOMINIC-LAWSON-Britains-economic-problems-little-Brexit.html But is Mark Carney right about the relative performance of the British and German economies since 2016? No, and that's putting it politely. 'Similarly, Carney is choosing a date when the pound was abnormally high against the euro (January 2016), another one when the pound was much lower, and then saying we've underperformed Germany by 20 per cent. 'That's just obvious complete nonsense. If you look at actual annual growth rate in domestic currency, the UK and Germany have grown by quite similar amounts since 2016.'
  16. Great Yarmouth is Brandon Lewis constituency
  17. If they wanted to increase tax, they could scrap the 2pm to 5pm 7-Eleven ban, as they probably pay their taxes, whereas forcing people to buy from beach vendors or small shops during that time do not
  18. Quick update of the table
  19. First time that I have seen the bar name in relation to this, I thought originally they said a farang owned the bar?
  20. Tims pharmacy 2nd road Pattaya quoted me B1500 a box, I never brought them
  21. I liked this https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21451264/ Is an exploration of extraterrestrial encounters centred on a series of events in 1996 when citizens of Varginha, Brazil, reported seeing a UFO crash and one or more strange creatures. Documentary, it looks like there was a cover-up by USAF, all the witnesses seemed genuine
  22. That's where i go. Very good
  23. Nigerians selling drugs on lower Sukhumvit, well there is a surprise
  24. Snacks like Doritos Nachos Cheese Flavour are often eaten in large quantities in a single sitting and can be problematic because they end up delivering a large dose of salt, simple starches and fats. The salt content in this snack is 748 mg sodium or 2 gm of salt in just 100 gm serving pack. This is high and such high salt consumption is not recommended for people at risk of high blood pressure and heart ailments. The WHO recommends salt intake of 1-3 gm per day, which means that with the consumption of just 1 pack of Doritos Nachos Cheese you are almost having the entire day’s salt intake. Other ingredients that are in the product but not a major source of concern in our opinion are: Corn (77%) Palm Oil Milk Solids 3.1%- Whey Powder, Cheese powder, Skimmed milk powder Wheat flour Spices & Herbs-Onion powder, spice extract, Pepper powder, Chilli powder, Garlic powder, Tomato Powder Sugar Citric acid (INS330) Who would really want to put that c**p in your body https://foodnetindia.in/product-review-doritos-nacho-cheese-flavour/
