  1. Get her a 10-year-old banger to learn and then commute in. Once she's of legal age, she'll piss in the driving test, get herself a licence and who knows, by that time her boyfriend may stump up for a decent, new motor.
  2. My son at less than sixteen can be the majority shareholder in a corporation. You have assumed too much. Create a corp. She can own the corp. Have the corporation buy a motorcycle. Problem solved. But the OP doesn't want her to have a motorbike, he wants her to have a car. BTW, can a Thai corporation have a Thai driving licence?
  3. I guess not since the legal age to drive a car is 18 Whoops, there it is. That 'legal' age thing in Thailand again.
  4. Depending on the day, what post office, the clerk that's serving you, one MAY be asked to either show or declare what's in anything you are mailing. We are dealing with a state-run entity run by jobsworths.
  5. Discussing what's illegal on a Thai-centric forum in Thailand. Is it 1 April already?
  6. There's also Cialis in eye-drop format for those who just want to look hard.
  7. Followed the procedures as mentioned by others of activating the mintmobile account and then adding up roaming BEFORE installing the eSIM. All went to plan. Tested both-ways via Vyke, my buddy's US Skype and another friend's US mobile. I will wait until after the holidays before updating the US bank, PayPal, etc.. Now have my UK and US numbers on the new phone. Thanks for all the assistance rendered on this thread.
  8. Sir Thomas Sean Connery - the best 007 ever. He used to live here.
  9. Vyke is a good solution. My US bank accepted it for 2FA, but I had a struggle registering it as my primary PayPal US number. AFAIK, Google voice doesn't accept any VOIP numbers (like Vyke) when signing up.
  10. Loads of EV's on the roads in Muang Udon Thani. BYD seems to have caught a load of attention up here as there's more of them than Ora, Tesla or MG. Not sure if their 'quietness' is really a safety issue as they tend to be in among the regular, noisy IC engined stuff and their tires make the same road noise like any other vehicle. Unless it's a souped-up pickup, it's road noise you hear above any engine noise. Especially if they have stuck great big knobby tires on their Fortuner (you know who you are). In my experience, just like regular drivers here, the scooter drivers are loath to use their horns... unless they've got at least 4-up and they're already flying through the intersection on red light at +80 kph. Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.......p! Like that's gonna save your life? Anyone that doesn't use their EYES as the primary determinant if it's safe to cross a busy road needs a slap. More so here in Thailand, where one-way and contraflow (and red lights) are rather abstract constructs.
  11. From the article linked in the OP: "According to Ms. Moey (alias), a 17-year-old passenger on the motorcycle who was not injured, she and Ms. Suphansa were returning home after visiting a nearby market when the foreign tourist stepped onto the road from the central island allegedly without looking properly, leaving Ms. Suphansa unable to stop in time. ..." Since when has a 17 year-old riding pillion on a scooter in Thailand NOT been looking at their bloody smartphone?!
  12. The sun was in my eyes. Back on topic, Atttila the Hun. Killer conversation.
  13. So THAT'S what I've been doing wrong all these years? No wonder my kill count is low. Time to up my game.
  14. Howard Stern? Didn't he become a 'shock jock' only because he wasn't very funny?
  15. Don't forget, it's all the 'girls' fault these days as they're older, fatter and only want to play with their phones.
  16. What do you mean "we" clueless? If it's all too challenging, get your missus to book like @KhunLA does. Better still (or if you're single), get his missus to do it for you? Apparently, you'll get a better rate.
  17. So, what's keeping YOU here?
  18. Three pages already and running like the wind...
  19. Online booking websites have always been notorious for being used by the clueless.
  20. Of course she does because that's what she tells you, right?
  21. OMG!...now someone's laughing as well. Consider your emoji button well pushed.
  22. Already ordered. In the meantime, I have borrowed the DTAC SIM from my youngest lad's Christmas present Imoo watch to tide me over. The Grinch giveth, and the Grinch taketh away. When I was talking about the 'phone number', it was specific to sending USSD codes from the modem/router's SMS messaging page in order to keep the old SIM ticking over until the new one shows up this weekend.
