i'm just going to ignore this and get the o-a visa every two years and withdraw from my home country bank via the atm. if i get hit with a no filing fee or entry is refused i will decide what to do at that point in time, or just move to siem reap.

is that beach bar area by the pier still there? what about victory hill or those beach areas to the south? when i was there the chinese casino's were just coming in i think. i remember one being built by the dolphin roundabout. i don't mind that so much, i like las vegas and stuff, but the chinese establishments seemed unwelcoming if you were not chinese, i was uncomfortable going in.

many guys do end up dying there. they are called deathpats. guys that washed up from other areas of asia and ended up in cambodia. usually drug addicted. i looked at a room for rent in a guesthouse in sihanoukville in the victory hill area. there was blood on the bed, bloody cotton swabs on the pillow and floor. i think it was from drug addicts shooting up in the room. cambodia is also the place where that lady put poison in my coffee and tried to rob me.

are beers really $2.50 now? i think when i was there they were always $1 i remember the $1 drafts in cambodia were almost always flat and barely drinkable in vietnam they were 50 cents lf i remember correctly 🤷🏻‍♂️

go to siem reap and see the temples. i lived in siem reap a year or two and liked it. i don't recommend sihanoukville at all. the bus station is just a couple streets over. https://www.giantibis.com/

where are you now, downtown? the cheap rooms can be pretty bad/dirty. when i was there i just started booking airbnb's which seemed much better, safer, cleaner. watch out if you wander around at night. there are many drug (meth) addicts wandering around which is different then thailand/vietnam.

Food and drinks in cambodia are the same or more then thailand for the eateries you are used to. The local markets are not that great and you risk disease unless you are careful. Meaning you need to scrub everything and i would probably do an alcohol wipe. You can visit that big local market near the river and grand palace to see what i mean. I did not even shop there for edibles and was kind of used to it. Rents were probably about the same as Thailand when i was there many years ago, but you get less quality in Cambodia.

You don't have to follow politics. Turn the TV off, buy a cabin on land somewhere and live your life without focusing on other people's problems. I guess you could get mugged at the grocery store 🤷🏻‍♂️.
