How to come back to thailand
JimTripper replied to Jack1988's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
😂 If he has a business generating income why would he need to return to the home country to get money? It would just drop into his bank account or he would have it transferred over. unless he is going over to find a second job?? 🤷🏻♂️ -
How to come back to thailand

maybe they can go back to the home country together? they are married after all. the wife may just be sitting around not working or making very little. isn't the visa easy to get if they are married? all they would be out is an additional plane ticket. he has about $11k usd. so figure $800 each for a one way ticket for both of then. that leaves maybe just over $9,000 including the visa hassles. first last and deposit on a rental say $3,000. He then has a couple months to find a job and start paying the rent, or he starts collecting food stamps and welfare, scraping by until he finds something. would need to take buses and live in a city since no money for a car really. -

i think what usually happens is people just get stuck back in the home country and don't return. it's more like they just ran out of money period, and they are saying it in a nice way. -

i hope going home is a solution. add in airfare and a first, last and deposit on a rental and it can get quite expensive. not to mention no references, job history or probably credit score. not sure what country they are from but hopefully not the usa to save money. i saw some video's where it worked out though. some are more resourceful then others. https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=DloPUjSLpZWkUBqd&v=BICeFFHAlH8&feature=youtu.be -

they may not know he hopped a border though. the old tm30 would still be there i think. i would just try doing the 90 day report online as usual. if it does not go through you just get a new tm30 (saves time by not going through the hassle unless you have to). -
Alcohol Sales Banned for End of Buddhist Lent This Upcoming Sunday
JimTripper replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
why do that if you don't care about the country? there's no requirement to like it to live here 🤷🏻♂️ -
It reads inconsistant depending on the branch and clerk you get. Has anybody had problems getting their money out from a retirement deposit for example, like an account liquidation? For example, needing to provide further documents or tax forms? If policies are being made up as I go I would be hesitant opening a large savings account at all.

If you don't like it go home.

stop drinking alcohol for a day and brew some green tea and get off your barstool and get some exercise and do something other then getting plastered. wear some deodorant and real shoes that day to show respect and take off the chang tank top. can't you do anything without being inebriated? -
what happened during the experience?

🤣 yep, that's true about the air. i'm always gasping like a fish out of water. there is also a health issue of getting pool water in my mouth, eyes and ears all the time. it's a treated pool but you never know and the water is never really changed, just treated. i have noticed body improvements (toning and losing weight, not so much stregth based) with the swimming that are equal to the rowing with seemingly less effort, but it could be due to other things 🤷🏻♂️.

i remember when i first moved to chiang mai from the states. i could not find coffee beans anywhere. i'm like what? do i need to buy them from a cafe? 🤔 finally found them at the foodland. a lot of people in asia drink those 3 in 1 satchets (mostly sugar and junk) or they goto a cafe that feels like a treat. brewing your own coffee feels like a novelty here. a lost art. i still brew mine though, normal for an american. we drink real coffee all day. 2 cups is nothing.

i don't lift weights anymore, just swim and row. i never really enjoyed lifting, and don't like being in a gym. i just did it when younger for muscle gain. some people may like the activity of lifting just for the enjoyment even if the muscle gains are minimal as you get older, but probably not many people. thus the testosterone use. contrast this for me with swimming. i would do it even if the fitness was not there. just enjoy the activity. no need for testosterone then.

cost cutting most likely, or just a token room to say they have a gym. i viewed a place bordering lumphini park, nice area. the "gym" was only big enough for one dude. when i viewed with the real estate agent he said "the gym is kind of small". there was a guy in there when we walked by who stared at us. we did not even go in, just looked through the window 🤣.

I liked rowing for years, but I actually like swimming better now for the body workout. There's something about having to keep the body afloat over a longer period if time that feels much stronger then a rowing session. There's also the pool issue. Being close to an empty pool regularly without kids or other people wading around is a deal breaker. I don't swim well, or exercise in any way in general, when there are people around watching, unless they are self-absorbed in their own workouts. Opposite to what athletes typically do oddly enough during competitions. I think they learn to screen out the audience though, so it's just them. Fortunately, I have access to one now that's always empty at certain times.

Yeah, having that back up property is the reason i ever tried it. That's important. You always know it's there just in case. In the end though it was too much of a hassle for me however. The great vetted renters with high credit scores and references I had let their dog sleep in one of the bedrooms and put modern lighting fixtures into an antique themed house. Then I had to return to clean the place up for new tenants. So I said forget it and just sold it. Some people pay just to have everything done, but it never seems to get done right no matter how much you pay when someone else is responsible for supervising it. The property falls into disrepair and there's all these laws saying it has to be fixed.

Oh, I thought a lot of those shaved guys from the Uk were really bald.

i tried with a place in the usa and barely broke even in the end, or just under. the rent could not be raised enough over market to profit. i was also using a professional management company. i now think nobody really makes money renting real estate. it's all based on an illusion of the market going up in the future or being able to fight mortgage interest rates or a bank, or being fooled by seeing a rent check and ignoring money coming out the back end.

there is a huge difference between balding and shaven. kojak and bruce willis were shaven. the worst option would be someone who is trying to hide balding by combing it over, using gels, and what have you. best option probably if you are balding is to just shave it like many professional athletes do. like everything else, it's about manning up and taking care of yourself and not just "letting it go" in so many areas like a lot of guys do here.
