Can’t he get a new passport within Thailand? I thought you report it stolen, they give you something in the interim and you pick up the new real passport from the embassy when it’s ready. It gets mailed to the embassy from the home country.

Where are you living? Somewhere has a copy of your passport and visa page. Your landlord, any hotel you stayed at? Visit them all and get a copy.

I don’t think the police are unreasonable. I could see them calling the agency and even getting the passport returned if I was stopped, but it really depends on how you explain things and the officers mood. I have lived in Thailand for years and never been asked for it by police. The chances of being asked for your passport at all are pretty small imo. Just stay away from nightclubs or driving around and that sort of thing, or walking around Sukhumvit late at night etc. Have you tried going to immigration and asking if they have it? Tell them the agency and put some pressure on them to find it. I would wait at least a month before doing that though since it’s a loss of face for them.

I would just wait and report it stolen before 90 days. Apply for the new passport around 90 days and show immigration the stolen report when you go in for the replacement visa and stamp. Would need to pay up if required. Any written receipt from the agency. Could show that and explain they have possession if stopped by police or to immigration. Worst case, go in and get a business card. Anyone asks, call the agency. You should always have a picture of your passport on your phone in case you are stopped or you lose it with the visa stamps included. Maybe uploaded to a cloud storage also.

Was a deadline given in writing? He could be desperately looking for a new place but has no idea what “you need to leave” means. That could be like “right now” or it could mean at the end of the month, until he finds a new apt. Etc… A third party needs to serve the guy with written notice so he knows what’s going on. Contrary to my previous posts I don’t advocate just ejecting somebody onto the street unless he has reasonable notice to get out. You need to be clear on this and set a limit. if he gets pissed off you may not want to be sleeping with him in the same apt. Find an alternative place for him to stay during the week or whatever during notice. Maybe offer to get him a cheap room for a week.

Probably drama. Like talking about “why he won’t leave” or asking others to “negotiate with him”. People have big problems and you don’t really know what’s going on in their heads. Most of it is from childhood or parental stuff. Take a firm and decisive stance. He has already been asked. Change the locks and have someone there as a witness in case he returns while they are being changed. Your lucky enough to be in a condo and not a house.

When he returns security is responsible for removing him from the hallway. Alternatively, wait until he leaves, put his stuff out, jam the lock with small nails in the keyhole so he can’t get in. Call security to remove him from hallway. Have the locks changed after he is off the property.

Yeah, you can do them either way. All the info is on the certificate in the car. Any funny business you can still call the complaint number no matter what they do with the ticket anyhow.

It’s also from being around people all day. There’s something about being around people that works on you, especially if they are seated there looking at you or there is a line. I used to work in a cafeteria where there was always a line waiting. Even just a couple hours was draining. It saps your energy and the frustration people feel about waiting gets projected towards you even if they don’t say anything.

They probably don't know yet. I have been to low cost facilities before and what they typically do is run anything that is the most time and cost effective (usually lab and blood work because they get paid for all the tests from just one quick blood draw), rush the appointment, then require many additional appointments for each future thing (to get paid for each office visit probably). In other words, the patient becomes a product, is always having to make trips in for every little bit of info or repeated tests that could have been done on the same day. It's very frustrating. Add to that the uncanny ability of the physician you are seeing to retire suddenly which always seems to happen.

Another thing the Op may be coming to realize is that family is where you find it. What may initially be concern for a mate has become more of a caretaker role. Nothing wrong with that, but it may or may not be what you originally had in mind. The elderly don’t need just a hand up, it’s more like a full time caregiver as someone gets older. Now if they are out of funds the buck can’t be passed on (pun intended) so to speak to someone else like a care home, so you end up becoming the care giver in many demanding ways.

Insurance company approves claims. The benefit of a broker is that claims are passed through them and they have a reputation to uphold. The insurance company is more likely to not be stingy with claims because the broker is passing through a large amount of policies and money regularly. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.
