  1. Nervous was probably the wrong word I used. It's more like insecurity. He can be confident and outgoing, but he is insecure. Pattaya is filled with people with problems. You will learn to see that the harder you look under the surface. Under the bright lights, cheap thrills and drinking is a lot of shady stuff about why people wash up here.
  2. You never hit anyone over a bill or yell at them like that. It's a civil matter, you can get the police. You don't know why he did not pay, it could be anything, a medical problem, finding a finger in the rice, or just being drunk. The lady and others here are in the wrong even if the guy did not pay.
  3. This sort of thing is becoming more common everywhere as food shortages happen and people run low on money.
  4. I just found a bunch of online sites where I can mail in my frames and get them back with the new lenses. I did not know that worked but I do have the pupil distance on my rx so it may work. I always thought a person had to measure it with me there.
  5. Where can I get high index progressive no line bi-focal lenses put in my own frame in Bangkok and how much do they cost? Just the lenses and not the exam. Some place on Sukhumvit said it's around 20k baht and I don't want to pay it.
  6. They did a bunch of tests on your eyes but no vision test? That's hilarious ????
  7. I don't want to talk, I just want to submit a complete application and get the visa via mail. Btw - In my early days many years ago I got a call from the Embassy about sending in more docs and it was a nightmare. Some stressed out and confused Thai lady kept calling at 8 am in the morning while I was asleep and did not speak good English. I ended up having to re-schedule my flight with a hefty fee, had the visa package mailed back (they did not charge the visa fee) and just flew in exempt and took it from there. I still remember that. So talking to someone there may not be your best option.
  8. Sounds far fetched to me in Pattaya, but I guess it's possible. Many people feel nervous about being in a foreign country so they will set themselves up as a big brother, expert or advice giver and kind of seek out newbies who look up to them. It comes across as strange if your used to a location where that does not occur.
  9. That's a better ice breaker then what I usually hear. At least is was not where are you from and what do you do? I even had a couple people plainly ask about source of income.
  10. When she asked about the thai wife she was implying you were coming over to bang and that's why you kept cumming over and over so often.
  11. The e-visa application is just routed to the embassy according to their website. I'm assuming the embassy will contact me for the additional docs. In my prior experience they will contact you ifvfurther info is needed and not just deny.
  12. No need to pay for something you don't mind doing yourself. The Thai's don't like it, but that's life. You can't save the world paying for things just because it's expected.
  13. There's a new modern one open 24hrs on the road between Nirun Condo's and Big C. Too far if your walking from pothole though. Can be seen easy from the road with bright lights on the left hand side if your going towards Big C. I used to go around midnight when it was empty and owners were asleep (they tend to hover around you if your there during the day, not sure why). Easy in and out with no hassle.
  14. He only hooked up with other female foreigners (usually travelers he met at the expat bar) and was not into Thai women! Another weird thing is that he went to the SAME expat bar each time (almost) daily.
  15. I feel like someone who can't leave their comfort zone when I eat there. Like I'm afraid to go out and enjoy some local food. Nobody cares so it's not a big deal. It's just a vibe I get in expat oriented places. I had a close neighbor drinking buddy who ate at these places exclusively and it felt odd to me. He never wanted to have a meal or a beer at a local spot, it always had to be an expat place. So my question is why was he here if he always had to eat in an expat place? ????‍♂️
  16. Are the ones around Jomtein open, or did most of them close down?
  17. When I eat at Cheap Charlies or Hungry Hippo or goto Tree Town I feel like a tourist. I feel like I need to ask for "mushy peas". I want to feel more like I am at a neighborhood bar or just a dive bar, not a place that's oriented to mongers or on the map for newbies to pattaya to do vlogs at or these blokes walking around looking for interviews for their youtube channel. ????‍♂️ ???? ????
  18. I think that's what they said. Let me get back to you.
  19. Signing for something without knowing what it is would not be guilt in many countries. It would need to be proven she knew what was in the package ????‍♂️. That's what scares me about places like Thailand. You can get busted on a technicality or just by dumb cops who don't understand what evidence is.
  20. Can you send a picture as proof?
  21. Sorry, he must have given it up. Cycling around town does not seem to be very popular here like it is in other countries like the USA or Europe, a bit more popular up North in Chiang Mai & Chiang Rai. Maybe due to the heat and humidity. It's more just people driving around on their motorbikes.
  22. I think the Backyard Bar on Soi Pothole rents mountain bikes. I know he does tours around town also.
  23. I had a neighbor aquaintance who was real into wine in Thailand. It seemed dumb to be and I just wanted a beer. He would sit at an outdoor wine bar and thought it was cool. He also liked golf. He was in the wrong country and eventually moved. He also liked air conditioning, just a fan was not good enough. He also liked western food.
