  1. Yep. You are always going to be dealing with a Thai somewhere who does not see things correctly if you buy, since you can't own the land.
  2. Flying is very stressful. It only takes a small irritant to send people off the rails. In a confined space you can be the subject of somone else's frustration. What we have here is a man apparently going berserk and striking out at fellow passengers and cabin crew staff. Nobody knows what set him off, but it's probably related to the stresses of airline flight.
  3. Yes. If they don't have the 800k baht, it's cheaper to be here then many other countries. Why can't you grasp this simple concept?
  4. Well, you would hate to be too exclusive 🤣
  5. Let me get back to you on that.
  6. Why do they need to always be drinking beer?
  7. Seems like a hassle but I guess it could work. Probably easier to just keep the minimum funds in there and forget it.
  8. Unless you forget to do it on the exact dates needed which seems like a chore each and every month.
  9. I don't just "give up" deposits. It's owed money. Has nothing to do with the amount of assets I have.
  10. It's not all or nothing, it's a neutral. I'm not walking down the street or grocery shopping to meet other guys. It's not the right venue. If I don't give eye contact it means I'm busy doing other things, not that I dislike you or hate other expats. Like I said before, if it does happen a nod is appropriate, but not the direct eye contact or greeting of everybody I come across.
  11. I don't usually smile at other guys, but if one of us was queer it could mean that.
  12. Buying means I could not move at all which is much worse!
  13. I don't like security involved for visitors. They act as witnesses if there are any problems that can go against you. For example having somones id card and signing in proves they were at your unit and they can lodge any accusation they want with the police. Can lead to blackmail or other problems. You never want two thai's against one. If someone steals or something security does not get involved anyway, they just call police.
  14. Not quite. They would be stuck there for a year to get the deposit back which can be up to two months rent.
  15. Why would they want to make eye contact with another man while shopping? If it happens it deserves a nod, but otherwise it comes across as a bit odd or queer. Shopping or walking on the sidewalk is not an expat club where people are there to meet people. Many in a random environment won't be interested.
  16. That's a nice venue to attend anyhow. Just saw that it closed down. 😅 Probably would have went when I lived there, but I felt too young at the time. Would not really be interested if it was held in a windowless conference room somewhere.
  17. I guess they could drink from the free water machine at the food court. You can't really sit anywhere these days in this environment without having some sort of beverage due to the heat. The A/c in the food court would make it a bit easier, I suppose, if one had to absolutely cut back on waters.
  18. Most people don't need the club. They are at foreigner bars, eateries and such every day where there are other expats around. I had a neighbor who ate at the same foreigner type restaurant practically every day where the food was overpriced, Ok, but not great. It was more about hanging out with similar people then the food or drink. At first it seemed dumb to me that he was always there with so many local thai eateries nearby (which I always ate at) until I caught on to what was really going on.
  19. Why are they going to the food court instead of a nice cafe?
  20. Does this meet at different locations? I saw a group of people at the big c extra food court that looked like a club meeting of some kind.
