  1. The 'vacate by' date on the notice? Collecting rent and not paying the mortgage is common when things go bad.
  2. You don't really gain anything by calling someone out. The damage is already done. It just prolongs the awkward interaction with someone you will likely never see again and probably don't want to know. I suppose there is a small chance you could become friends with your neighbor or something, or help change society, or an apology or backoff makes things better. More power to you if you can twist things that way.
  3. Bee boppin' around town is for the young. As you get older you start living through others much more. Even older, you're watching the grandkids spin from that comfortable chair in the living room or on the porch. If single, you're gardening or taking care of the dog/cat or just watching TV all day and eating TV dinners. The world is more threatening now, not inviting like it once was. You're old. You're getting ready to come to terms with yourself and pass on. Pictures and family photo's all around you to put together like a huge jigsaw puzzle. Wills and other arrangements coming to completion. No worries. Everything coming together now...
  4. Is it possible people are so stupid they don't even realize other people are waiting? 🤣
  5. That's a bit different. The other customer is already engaged. It's not the same as someone coming up next to me and butting in while I'm talking or trying to hand over payment. Plus, the other customer is at the other till so I don't really care what they are doing, it's less personal. Double the delay and I could care less typically, as long as they are out of sight and out of mind it's hunky dory.
  6. I had a theory about it being poor people. People with less seem to snatch what's available quickly, eat fast, be in a rush, etc. because they think the resource is going to get away or disappear, like they are used to. That could extend to cutting in line because they are getting it first before me. It's primal and animal brain mentality. I think you're right about privledged people as well though, they always get served first. During The Great Depression they must have enforced those long bread lines at the soup kitchen so everything was orderly or you did not eat. Hungry people don't usually like lines like that.
  7. The people on the ventilator don't like colds. In fact, they absolutely abhor them!
  8. I like those checkout lanes at the Big C. You can't squeeze past. Just keep the cart behind you, not in front of you, when you load the belt and pay and I'm relaxed and good to go. Sometimes, I like to look back behind me and see everyone waiting patiently in line like good polite little people, knowing they can't push ahead and be rude because of the metal railing, and my cart in their way. 🤣
  9. I gave up on them here. When I do see them they are so pricey that it's not something I would buy unless it was a special occasion. If I had to have one then Villa Market or those pubs like Robin Hood on Sukhumvit or the Londoner in Bangkok that had Guiness and others that looked good.
  10. Interesting. If they cracked down on using agents at some point, maybe due to the new tax regulations and needing to tax money in your account, it would cause a lot of problems.
  11. They could try a nuisance accusation if you did not put it back or just kept taking food off the shelves for no reason, but it would have to be a very irate store owner obviously. The best thing to do would be to load up a large cart and leave it in an aisle somewhere knowing somebody would have to take the time to re-stock it.
  12. If you have a large house with a swimming pool and land you don't need much to do. Life and happiness revolves around your family and property, other then going into town for food and supplies. Breaks are traveling to other locations that are of interest.
  13. Can you see this happening if it was a Thai who cut in and chucked the passport?
  14. It feels like it's up to the employee I'm dealing with to enforce it. Calling out the other customer feels misplaced since they are interacting with the employee and not me and the employee agrees to serve them. I could say something to the employee about how I was there first, but it feels like they have control of the interaction if I'm buying something from them in their place of business. An answer could be to just dump the merchandise like someone suggested above and go somewhere else. Now, if I'm at an Atm somewhere or a gas pump and someone cuts in I just say something. The difference is a third party there serving you who is effectively letting someone cut in.
  15. They may not like waiting, but they still need to wait. 🤷🏻‍♂️
  16. I doubt it. There is never any negative interaction beteeen me and the principal. The only thing I could think of is that I'm pretty easy going and slow and the person cutting in is typically rushed and erratic, so the principal may think I'm Ok with waiting while the other person is served.
  17. Is it done mostly among the poorer classes there, or the wealthy also?
  18. There is this whole social embarrassment thing here that makes me reluctant to call people out. It feels like challenging someone for anything is overkill. If it was in the Usa I would just call them out in it and see your point.
  19. They usually don't speak english well.
  20. Why would they be getting served first?? Maybe they figure I'm already committed to the transaction so payment is guaranteed, while the person just approaching is not so they get served first?? 🤷🏻‍♂️
  21. Is this getting worse or am I just noticing it more? Counted 3x so far today buying something or service oriented interactions where my transaction is already in process and someone (Thai) walks up, orders or requests while I'm standing there, and the person I'm with immediately serves them first and ignores me, sometimes with a drawn out conversation before they conclude, while I'm standing there waiting. Is this disrespectful here in Thailand? I thought it was 🤷🏻‍♂️. Feels like a racist Thai first thing.
  22. Not in Pattaya. Unhealthy. https://www.iqair.com/th-en/thailand/chon-buri/pattaya I guess that rules out my beach trip. Oh, the water is unhealthy also. Many people do like an affordable sea view. Time to stop complaining about everything, just pretend it's clean. 🤣
  23. Everybody has a hole. It's who you enjoy spending time with that's the defining factor, at least for me.
  24. The air quality today is unhealthy. https://www.iqair.com/th-en/thailand/chon-buri/pattaya
  25. I like to keep some of my respect as a man.
