Sounds harsh, but I may be happier just not attending. Not because I don't care, but just because I don't need closure much. I have the memories. It's probably more about bonding with living family for me during the funeral. Funerals cause a sharp spike in grief and focus on "moving on" rather then a slow realization with a lot of time to come to terms with someone passing. I'm more of a take time guy.

I did not have pain in the cracked tooth so I think it could still be capped or at least bonded to keep it from getting worse. Anyhow, to just wait until it hurts is crazy. Doing nothing lets it gradually get worse and I would eventually need a root canal or lose the tooth and due to the crack getting bigger. Cracks don't just stay there and be Ok they need to be fixed. I'm not a dentist but even Einstein knows that.

Did you go into the hospital or clinic or just wait it out on your own?

I have been to a couple in Pattaya that barely looked in my mouth. One did not look in my mouth at all for a serious problem where I had pain, just did an x-ray. The other looked for about three seconds and refused to do a cleaning or a crown I needed on a cracked tooth and did not charge for the visit. Don't ask me why. These were places with good online reviews, not just any place I walked into. I will be seeing the nice place in bangkok again soon. I also had a great local private practice dentist in Chiang Mai that did good work. Sorry to say again, but I'm biased about the bad luck encounters having something to do with Pattaya 🤷🏻‍♂️. I consider myself lucky it happened on the first visit before any major work so it did not bother me much, I just never went back.

Agreed. I'm not comfortable at all talking to my father about sexual subjects and it was never discussed between us while I was growing up, ever. I have heard that some guys do though and that it's almost a college buddy relationship.

That's why I suggested booking in a place like Siem Reap where there are no visa pressures and relax a couple weeks before digging in and an easy solution may arise. Sounds like he is rushing around trying to figure out what to do in a hurry. The Op could also ask his gf to take a picture of the credit/debit card and email it. Then he uses that to reserve a room online or buy what he needs delivered without needing the physical card. He must have internet access to post here.

I hate balconies without screens. Quality of life suffers. Only thing that would really work is running fans all the time and the good old mosquito racket by your side. They are weak flyers. Keep the bedroom doors shut at dusk so they don't get trapped in the bedroom and bite later on. Mosquito nets on the bed. Many landlords rent out their place continually and the screens get damaged easily and are not ever replaced if there is indeed a track for them. You need to get them put on before you move in and pay the deposit or they tend to just not get replaced. Many agents do the home inspection after you pay the deposit so it's much harder to get them done. Some of those stick on screens may work, but they tend to be piddly and not really work well over time, or the velcro wears off, they become a hassle to go in and out easily, etc.

Do you have an empty property to go back to in Europe? Where are you going to live or find a job with a large employment black hole.
