  1. The difference is your were with cool people when you were young and the noise was cool and funny. You are around weak people in asia that you don't vibe with so the sound gets interpreted as annoying. It's just sound, what makes it cool or annoying is the filter in your head interpreting the noise.
  2. You may qualify gor a mortgage in the Usa though so you could be able to live at arms length from weak people on some land that you own in theory. In Thailand I'm always in a condo or having to deal with a weak landlord in most cases if it's a house.
  3. Sounds like good advice to me. What do you gain by sticking around in a situation where you have less rights from the beginning?
  4. I was thinking of Lemmy from Motorhead. He worked in a washing machine factory in the Uk before going beserk and forming the band.
  5. Rumor has it that you can be held responsible for accidents in these situations. The reasoning is that you hired the driver so are financially responsible. Similar to being an employer and the driver being an employee. Old school advice was to just walk away in any accident type situation.
  6. My lease has a 1500 baht deductible on repairs so I would need to fix it. I just use the other bathroom as I have two bathrooms. Turned off the water to the gun at the base. At the end of the lease I just say nothing and hope he does not feel like taking a dump during the move out inspection.
  7. If they don't want to pay a cover what's the liklihood of someone buying a lot of drinks? It means they are cheap anyway.
  8. A lot of them work in washing machine building factories in the Uk. Putting in rivets and screws and such.
  9. I have noticed that as well. They seem on edge like a kettle boiling over. I guess they have lots of problems that they escape from with alcohol and cheap women.
  10. Great idea. But where to, Cambodia or Laos?
  11. It's easy, just use your brain.
  12. My problem with living in pattaya is that there are a lot of weak people around. It's possible to avoid most of them by living in a nicer building and not going out late nights wandering around on foot for example, but they are not completely avoidable. It's both thai's and foreigners. I don't care what the media or news says about the place.
  13. Kind of like waiting to get into heaven, but you can't find the door.
  14. Are you disabled?
  15. Thailand is a virtual obstacle course for the physically handi-capabled.
  16. Lazada
  17. I think you are correct. The position they will use during the massage is called "the wheelbarrow".
  18. An enterance fee like they have for a concert at a club would fix these problems. Fee could cover 2 drinks or so and 1 lady drink. Guys go into these bars and kind of enjoy the neon show and eye candy but don't always pay what the venue requires to stay open. Kind of like walking into a concert, enjoying the music and leaving. Staff motivation could be motivated by getting the drink tickets that need to be spent on someone. I'm sure there's some Thai reason why it's not done this way that I'm not thinking of. Maybe it limits spend as well. People that lose control are limited by the drink tickets to not spend more.
  19. That's usually how it works, unless you're really fortunate and they put you on some sort of life support machine.
  20. Pay security if you have too and report to tourist police I suppose 🤷🏻‍♂️. Not much else you can do.
  21. There are also a lot of grey zones with those kinds of problems, unless you are a real loner. You could be guilty by association, or hanging out with the wrong person and lose your life. Some trigger happy cop just plays it safe and you are gone. The more deadbeat type of expats you are around the more likely they are angling for money with the wrong locals and the more likely that is to occur.
  22. There's not. You need to be working there to stay long term last time I checked. There are many great places in the world to live the problem is the visa.
  23. Most guys aren't there to hear them talk.
  24. Please don't do that, man. Don't let me find you sitting there by yourself with that sodaah either. If thet can't sit with you without buying that drink they don't deserve your attention and business. Time to turn the tables. See you around.
