Urgent advice needed
Hellfire replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The only reason I was denied, that I can think of, is the simple fact that I stayed in Thailand for three years in a row without leaving (20,21,22). This information can be read from the stamps in my passport and, most probably, is in their computer system. I never had any problems with the Thai police, never was deported before - nothing of that sort. So, knowing this, what should make me to believe that I will be allowed into Thailand in the near future (through another land crossing or airports)? I think I could return in 6-12 months time as a regular tourist, if I want. Anything else is a self-delusion which will lead to additional troubles + expenses. As I wrote above, while this whole experience was quite unpleasant, my general intention was to leave Thailand quite soon, so no big drama here. -
Urgent advice needed
Hellfire replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Well, after paying overstay and some angry talk, I was finally let out. Tried to return through another crossing (today) and was stopped. Was advised by the several IOs today that I can come back by plane - but do not think that I will risk it (not a fan of spending 24+ hours in the immigration police airport prison). And I actually planned to leave Thailand (most probably, forever) in the end of December - beginning of January. So, not a big tragedy. And there is one positive bonus: do not have to think of the credible explanation for my tgf. Thank you, Thailand , for everything. Great place, great people and culture, great memories. But we humans get tired and bored even with the greatest things. It is time to move. -
I am at the Ban Laem border with Cambodia at the moment. The second time in the row they refuse letting me out of Thailand. The same happened at this border 3 weeks ago. I am on 2 weeks overstay. They say I need to go to the “big border”. How legal is this? If I go back now and stopped by the police - I will be in prison for overstay. Do they really have a right to prevent me crossing the border without any legible reason?

Was refused to leave Thailand

Everything is actually much worse. Got Covid 10 days ago (most probably caught it in the minivan from the border to Pattaya). Now on overstay. Will make another trip to the Cambodian border as soon as feel myself better. -
Was refused to leave Thailand

Hi again, guys I have managed to get the stamps transferred to the new passport, so this time I will only present it (the new one) at the border. My question is if I should use the same border crossing this time (Ban Laem) which I was refused at? Is it risky? Because I know very well how to get there unlike other crossings which I never visited before. -

In case you did not know, Thailand immigration is not issuing any covid related extensions since 24.08.2022 -

Yes, being stuck in the rural part of Cambodia would be a nightmare for me. On the other hand, I would by then have a new passport in my pocket (with the stamp already transferred) and, most probably, would be able to enter through the neighboring checkpoint, the same day. And this is what the Thai officer was actually trying to prevent. -

And should we consider this behavior normal and acceptable? And to blame everything on the end user (a person traveling)? -

Exactly. If my intention was to leave Thailand for Cambodia and not to come back the same day - I would, of course, insist on letting me out. -

Every single Covid stamp that I got - was issued by the same Thai immigration which then accuses me of “too many stamps” on the border. And every single stamp was paid for. So, how exactly I violated the law? How can I know if I violated anything if one and the same instance has different opinions about its own actions? Are they allowed be so inconsistent ? -

Yes, they cannot refuse you to exit. But if one intends to cross the border back in a matter of 1-2 hours - do they have a right to refuse him the entrance then? I think they do. I try to solve my problem the way ubonjoe has offered (although I figured it out myself before he posted). What I need is to request a 7 days extension from the immigration (this one they cannot refuse). And that new 7 days stamp can only be issued to the new passport. Next time at the border, I will only show my new “clean” passport and not the one with 15 covid stamps in it. Hope this should work. -

Hello everyone and Ubonjoe May be somebody could advise on my situation. I stayed in Thailand for 3 years on Covid visas. My last covid extension expires in 3 days on 22.11. Because of many covid extensions my passport had no any more free pages and I visited my embassy and got the new passport + the embassy letter. Then I visited the Pattaya immigration in order to transfer the stamp to the new passport. There I was told that since I don’t apply for any new extensions - they are not supposed to transfer the stamp and this will be done while leaving the country (at the border crossing). Yesterday I took a bus from Pattaya to the Cambodian border. In the departure window on the border they first told me to pay 500 baht for the transfer of the stamp to the new passport. However, 10 minutes later I was told that they will not let me out to Cambodia because «have too many visas». I asked what am I supposed to do - and he told me to go to Chaeng Wattana to transfer the stamp and to get 7 days extension then leave the country. What are my options? Why am I supposed to go to Bangkok if I am registered in Pattaya immigration? Are there any options for me to leave the country and then to come back again (from Laos or Cambodia)? Thank you for help

Visa run to Cambodia
Hellfire replied to Hellfire's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Any advice on dealing with the Cambodian border police? I heard they may ask for an additional payment in case you cross the border twice on the same day. And what is the cost of the visa application? Usd 40? -

I will visit the Thai-Cambodian border in a couple of days (my starting point is also Pattaya). Will let you know all the details upon my return. -

Visa run to Cambodia

I am in Pattaya. I made visa runs to Laos many times before. But never to Cambodia. Feel not so sure about navigating towards the Cambodian border and back. When I get to Chantaburi - how easily will be I able to find a ride to Ban Pakkad? Still I would prefer to go to Cambodia this time because it is definitely a shorter and a less expensive route. -

I am considering going to Laos instead of Cambodia. -

Can you, please, tell me if there are any Covid related requirements when entering Laos at the moment? -

Thank you for reply. Actually, I need a border run, not a visa run. Which land crossing is preferred if I travel from Pattaya? -
Is it possible at the moment? Any Covid related requirements?

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Hellfire replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Russia demanded that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization roll back almost a quarter-century of expansion by withdrawing forces from eastern Europe and halt further growth, an unprecedented challenge to the U.S. and its allies that could derail efforts to end a standoff over Ukraine. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-12-17/russia-demands-nato-return-to-1997-in-security-treaty-proposals —— Looks like many already forgot the Putin’s rhetorics right before the war started. And the one and only reasons why they did so - is because Russian army was stopped and then pushed back by the Ukrainians! Otherwise, those Putin sympathizers would now ask why would not Baltic states just join the new version of USSR and Poland, Czech republic, Bulgaria and many other countries once again become the Mother Russia’s vassals? After all - these «minor concessions» are all that is needed to live in peace and harmony with the bloody dictator. -

“Davay, suka, paday” means “Come on, bitch, go down” (he is talking about the rocket they try to hit).
