Tourist arrival ‘tax’ postponed, foreign arrivals drop
Hellfire replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That is a true sensation. Never before the number of tourists in Thailand decreased in March and April. -
Are there any 'normal' farangs living in Thailand?
Hellfire replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Thailand, in many ways, is a dangerous place for foreigners. The illusion of happiness and its absolute accessibility is stronger here than anywhere else in the world. And, of course, like any illusion, it leaves a mark on those who get disappointed in it. Many people are able to understand and realize the falsehood of everything here in time and rebuild their lives, but some pursue the illusion to the end. Also, my signature describes the story of the broken foreigners in Thailand in the best way possible. -

Used condoms are the worst. Unacceptable! -
OP, don’t listen to these clo*ns here acting as if they know what they are talking about. Some of them are just bored and some are even borderline crazy. Similarly to jungle people they believe there exist EVIL (gods) border crossings vs the GOOD ones. Most probably, you will be denied entry at many other border crossings too. Especially at the airport. Be prepared to buy an ultra expensive air ticket back to your country. Not that many choices at the Suvarnabhumi detention center. But, of course you can get lucky and get back in. After all, everybody gets lucky, from time to time, even at the roulette table.

Hope so

After dealing with the Thai land borders’ police recently, I would prefer not to recommend anything to anybody. And every case might be unique.

Do not think so.

Why is Thai immigration so <deleted>ty?
Hellfire replied to gejohesch's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
They should have introduced a “sex-tourist visa” long time ago. 15 shots a month with the possibility to add additional 15 by visiting a local immigration facility. For those able to have 15+ shots a month - a special “Elite Sex-tourist” visa should solve their problem (starting from 1 mln baht). Too expensive? No money - no shots, as they love to say in the Land of Smiles. -

Tourist visa in phnom penh
Hellfire replied to AAIrons's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are probably right. And my main idea is that, unlike in the past, living on Visa runs in Thailand these days can be unpredictable and problematic from many aspects. -
Tourist visa in phnom penh
Hellfire replied to AAIrons's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
August 2016. Arrive from Vientiane to Suvarnabhumi with a freshly issued tourist visa. Only two more previous visas in the passport. The IO woman goes through my passport and I can see her unhappy face expression. Until that day I was naively sure that Visa in the passport = 100% entry guarantee. So they took me aside and another officer started questioning me (at that time only one year total stay in TH). “I have a girlfriend waiting for me in BKK”. They made me dial her and then talk to her on the phone. Luckily, they let me in. Since then, for three years until Covid started, I only used this method: Fly BKK - Udon Thani, then taxi to Nong khai border crossing (and the same way to come back). -

Actually, the recovering of my belongings from Pattaya turned out to be 10 smoother than I expected. I even entered Thailand today after explaining the IO officer I need to withdraw money from the Thai ATM (card lost, could only do it using my phone). P.S. Covid let me stay in Thailand 3 more additional years (from December 2019 till one week ago). Well , no more posts from me in this thread. Nothing more to be added. -
Tourist visa in phnom penh
Hellfire replied to AAIrons's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Ouh, come on. Just compare the Visa regulations before the coupe and after. Or, for example, take the visa issuance procedure by the embassy. First I got 6 visas into my new passport. Then obtained a new passport and this time got only 4 visas and a warning - no more visas will be issued in the future. New passport obtained again and this time I get “no more visas in the future” warning only after 2 visas. And then came Covid and 3 years of visa exemptions. I can tell some other stories about Thai authorities being inconsistent and constantly changing their policies. Just do not wish to waste my time proving the obvious. -

I do not complain about anything. As I said, I stayed in Thailand (without leaving) for 3 consecutive years on Covid regulations. To add some more facts, I stayed in Thailand for 6 more year before Covid (around 15 visa runs to Laos). And I also stayed one more year before that (2012) on then available “medical” (fake) visas. In this thread I told my most recent adventures on the border and hope it might be useful for somebody else. P.S. I definitely exaggerated the way I talked to the IO in the post above. Just to make it a little bit funnier. -

With all due respect, did you experiment with all the other land crossings already? How can you state something like that when we all know how often and easily the Thai immigration change their policies.
