  1. Funny fact. Came to Ban Laem border today to collect my bags sent to me from Pattaya. Was in the “no man’s zone”, awaiting for the courier with the bags to arrive, when this guy from the immigration approaches me (as it turned out, they still remember me pretty well) and say: “You have to fly your country, you can not come Thailand” (all this in quite an aggressive manner). To which I proudly replied: “Leave me alone, you fat piece of s***t. I just came here to collect my stuff. I feel great in Cambodia right now and I am more than tired of your bureaucratic Thai BS. Go away, now!”. He made a wai and left.
  2. Even if they grant the visa it may mean nothing for the immigration officer at the border.
  3. Simple rule to follow: never ride a scooter in Thailand . The Thais ride their m/bikes from the age 10. They are also buddhists and do not really care if they die next minute. For British atheists with zero experience of riding a two wheel vehicle - this is the worst choice of transportation method possible.
  4. A 63-year-old American man has been arrested in Phuket for eight days of overstaying. He reportedly did not leave his room and ate only protein capsules while hiding from Thai Immigration. ——— This is not a correct information. The man actually ate his feces and drank his urine. This could go on forever if not the high tech system employed by the RTP for detecting a presence of the unwanted foreigners in the country.
  5. This list should be, at least, 100 times longer. This former KGB officer is a lie machine.
  6. You will never be able to understand the logic of the Orcs. Actually, there is no any.
  7. It always helps me feel better inside when I see that my personal troubles are able to make some other people (those with the obvious psychological deviations) a bit happier. Now I know why the modern days media is full of all kind of catastrophic news. Many people just need it to feel themselves good.
  8. Man, if ever dealt with a rude Russian person - even the rudest of Thais would seem a gentle angel to you. In no way I want to say that all the Russians are like that, but there is a culture of “rudeness” there which, in my opinion, originates from the inhuman climate and the hard times of living during Tsars, Stalin repressions, Gulag and numerous bloody wars (in which they keep engaging themselves in even now). Thais are just the opposite of that, in my eyes. PS. In my 10 years in Thailand I never was pushed by a Thai person in any situation. Never ever was I in a conflict situation with a Thai person (excluding my Tgf, which attacked me with a knife several times, but that is another kind of story).
  9. The reason is different. Quite a few Russians (especially those not from Moscow or S. Petersburg) are used to ever pay for sex. Women were readily available for sex in Russia for a dinner at restaurant (not necessarily an expensive one) and, even more often, for a good company with a bottle of vodka. Now the situation is changing and more and more Russians get interested in paid sex with the Thai women. Regarding racism - the Russians are generally much less racists than any other Europeans with their often innate superiority complex (almost each of them is a direct descendant of Newton and Napoleon and not of some hard working dirty peasants).
  10. This is a country with a great nature and climate (depending on if you like a hotter weather), a unique and relaxed social atmosphere, low prices relative to a quite a developed infrastructure (I am in Cambodia now and while the prices are quite comparable to LOS the level of overall comfort is closer to that of a stone age). I also like the way the Thai people treat other people: i almost never met a rude Thai person, the trait of character I hate the most. Easily available women (just a small and poorest part of the Thai society)? Yes. But to say that it is the main and only reason people want to come here is a lie repeated by the different kind of lowlife sociopaths.

  12. Yes, I edited my post above with more details. Additionally, and this was my personal issue, I had a lot of problems with the Thai border police too. Not sure if it would be different for me with the Nongkhai crossing, though. If you stay in Thailand for more than 6 months on Covid or exemption stamps - you better choose another border (again, Nongkhai WAS a smooth ride for me many times before Covid).
  13. Avoid Cambodian border like the plague. Cambodian border police are pure criminals. Made me wait 2 hours in their room just because they wanted to be paid 1500 thb instead of 30 usd. “My boss told me on the phone you can only pay 1500 thb”. This happened on the Cambodian side of the Ban Laem crossing.
  14. It has nothing to do with overstay. I was at the same border 3 weeks before and without any overstay and got the same advice - go to the airport border. There is no such thing as “overstay status” after the overstay fee is paid. There is a crystal clear regulation that only overstays over 3 months lead to 1 or more years ban for entering the country.
  15. Overstay, especially as short as mine is never a problem if one pays the overstay fee. If it was about overstay I would be back to Thailand tomorrow without any hassle. As I explained before , the main reason they don’t want me back is the fact I stayed 3 year on Covid visas. Although, not a single immigration officer told me this in a straightforward manner. Which is the most annoying thing about all this story.
  16. Actually, when they stopped me at Ban Pakkard yesterday, they made me sign an Expulsion letter and also made a specific stamp in my passport. According to their explanation, this stamp prohibits me from entering the country through the land borders. The advice was to try it through the airport with the return ticket and hotel booking. Again, I don’t see any logic in that advice.
  17. Can somebody advice me on how my tgf could send (deliver) me my personal staff (2 big bags) from Pattaya to Cambodia? She does not have the international passport, so, as I understand, unable to travel into Cambodia herself.
  18. The only reason I was denied, that I can think of, is the simple fact that I stayed in Thailand for three years in a row without leaving (20,21,22). This information can be read from the stamps in my passport and, most probably, is in their computer system. I never had any problems with the Thai police, never was deported before - nothing of that sort. So, knowing this, what should make me to believe that I will be allowed into Thailand in the near future (through another land crossing or airports)? I think I could return in 6-12 months time as a regular tourist, if I want. Anything else is a self-delusion which will lead to additional troubles + expenses. As I wrote above, while this whole experience was quite unpleasant, my general intention was to leave Thailand quite soon, so no big drama here.
  19. Well, after paying overstay and some angry talk, I was finally let out. Tried to return through another crossing (today) and was stopped. Was advised by the several IOs today that I can come back by plane - but do not think that I will risk it (not a fan of spending 24+ hours in the immigration police airport prison). And I actually planned to leave Thailand (most probably, forever) in the end of December - beginning of January. So, not a big tragedy. And there is one positive bonus: do not have to think of the credible explanation for my tgf. Thank you, Thailand , for everything. Great place, great people and culture, great memories. But we humans get tired and bored even with the greatest things. It is time to move.
  20. I am at the Ban Laem border with Cambodia at the moment. The second time in the row they refuse letting me out of Thailand. The same happened at this border 3 weeks ago. I am on 2 weeks overstay. They say I need to go to the “big border”. How legal is this? If I go back now and stopped by the police - I will be in prison for overstay. Do they really have a right to prevent me crossing the border without any legible reason?
  21. Everything is actually much worse. Got Covid 10 days ago (most probably caught it in the minivan from the border to Pattaya). Now on overstay. Will make another trip to the Cambodian border as soon as feel myself better.
  22. Hi again, guys I have managed to get the stamps transferred to the new passport, so this time I will only present it (the new one) at the border. My question is if I should use the same border crossing this time (Ban Laem) which I was refused at? Is it risky? Because I know very well how to get there unlike other crossings which I never visited before.
  23. In case you did not know, Thailand immigration is not issuing any covid related extensions since 24.08.2022
  24. Is hot pepper a veg? If yes, then Thais eat more vegs than anybody else on the planet.
