  1. Ha ha. You just can't let it lie. Pray tell, who am I paying off? I really don't know what you mean by that and suspect you don't either. You should probably give it a rest now, you are embarrassing yourself.
  2. My Mrs said she wouldn't want mine on the end of her nose as a wart so I'm taking that as a compliment.....
  3. He'll be back taking down the notes at the management meeting.
  4. Plus, you'll always have bacon for breakfast.....
  5. Are you disputing that he gets paid vast amounts of money? He is paid that huge sum to offer his views on football, not politics. I glad you used the past tense ie. looked. You have finally grasped the fact. Well done 👍
  6. I mentioned it because he is paid to comment on football, not politics. As I have already said, me being envious of his remuneration is totally incorrect. What part of that are you not quite grasping?
  7. Wow, we have a new font of all knowledge on the site. What did we ever do without you?
  8. That's a rather misguided judgement. Why be envious of what others have? Make do with what you have yourself. FYI, I retired at 49, am now early 50's. I go where I want, when I want and do what I want because I have the funds to do so.
  9. Agree - I'll be watching or catching up on the BBC iplayer using ExpressVPN. However, assume ITV have their share of the games and I can rarely log on to ITVX when in Thailand using the above mentioned VPN. Don't know if anyone else has any success with a different VPN for ITVX?
  10. Those elected are the ones who pay the vast salaries for employees or freelancers to abide by the rules whether they like it or not. Plenty of other places to go and work and peddle their drivel for a fraction of the salary. " Interesting concept from an organisation which has previously made its name by being fair and balanced." Ha ha - I think you have had enough tonight - time to put that bottle of Turps back in the shed.
  11. I've got a Scottish mate who lives in Bangkok. Him and his Mrs were walking along Sukhumvit and passed by a swanky new restaurant. "Did you smell that food?" she asked him. "It smells absolutely fantastic" Being a kind hearted, generous Scotsman, he thought "What the hell....I'll treat her!" So they walked past it again....
  12. There are in fact rules as to what presenters are allowed to comment on whether directly or indirectly employed by the BBC depending on what they are paid to comment upon. Just because he works with a load of sycophants who 'support' (and I use the term very loosely - more likely trying to feather their own nests) his views does not mean he is not breaching rules or guidelines. If he perceives his views on political matters as more important than the views he is rewarded (very handsomely) to provide (eg, Burnely getting relegated or staying up), then perhaps he should forsake his exorbitant salary and become an ineffectual political pundit.
  13. Ok, I should have caveated that with not interested in his political views. His followers want to know whether he thinks Crystal Palace are going to beat Wolves. He is not exactly a political powerhouse. He just likes the sound of his own voice as he has proved time and time again.
  14. For a proper cup of builder's tea, the teaspoon should be able to stand up in the cup unaided. Splash of milk, none of your poncey slices of lemon etc.
  15. Lineker is a complete and utter prick who is also delusional in thinking anyone has the slightest interest in his views. Great when he played for Tottenham though....555
  16. Politely ask the man servicing wife to leave?
  17. Not that 'up scale' then if it stinks of pi$$ outside....
  18. We'll see.....he reels you in and there is no escaping.....555
  19. I did think that your main job was taking the pi$$ out of Bob which I do find amusing. But then you surprised me by coming up with a very useful and informative post on a financial thread the other day.
  20. Was your book published or was it a personal memoir to get everything down on paper?
  21. I enjoy something not too taxing on the brain - maybe a crime thriller. I'll get through a 300 page book in around 3 days. I do prefer to hold a physical book as opposed to using a Kindle or similar.
  22. When I worked in the City of London as an insurance broker a major part of the day involved visiting the pub. That was where all the biggest and best deals were done. We would often have a late morning pint or two, a 'proper' drink at lunchtime, a mid/late afternoon 'livener' then go out for a session in the evening. Invariably, you felt pretty grim the next day so you would have a mid morning 'hair of the dog' and so the cycle continued. Happy days but nearly killed me.
  23. But, if she is 4ft tall, that would make her a right fat munter.
  24. Spot on. I have been trying to decide between the two myself. Whereas the current incarnation is a complete knob, he does seem to have a miniscule degree of additional intelligence than the aforementioned pair of morons. I am still undecided.
  25. I had a trip to Luang Prabang in February with my Thai GF. No problems whatsoever. She entered on Thai passport. I had already applied for an e-visa. No snide remarks or looks of horror from anyone during our two week stay. Stayed at a lovely, friendly hotel in a double room. Enjoy your trip.
