Hospital recommendation for general medicine in Chiang Mai
Why has somebody posted a sad emoji to the above post or am I missing something? This is clearly a helpful post, providing useful information. There really are some sad, spiteful, people using this forum. I despair at times.

Meditation
I too was recently confused by the two. I should have been meditating in the Lotus position whilst I found myself masturbating in Lotus's which didn't go down too well with the security staff.....

Why does God >insert your grievance here<....?
I believe in God selectively. If I am in a spot of bother I will offer up a little prayer - "If you get me out of this sticky situation I promise I will never again XYZ" If I've backed a horse and it is running second "If you make the one in the lead fall at the last I'll give 10% of my winnings to the next homeless person I see" etc. Never give "him" another thought any other time. Makes me a complete hypocrite only believing when it suits me and for personal gain. As a result of that I would summarise that I don't believe (and that on occasions, I am a selfish, shallow individual).

Do you still keep up with news in your home country?
I do keep up with the news in my home country (UK) to remind myself what a complete and utter cr*p hole it has become and to remind myself why I much prefer being in Thailand.

32 year old DUI
He must be a minimum age of around 50 working on the assumption he was legally driving when charged with DUI in 1992. I am not saying that he is too old to start as a teacher in Thailand but I would assume that Celsius had "done the maths" and that is his opinion.

Thai elderly in yellow aprons fight homelessness on Bangkok streets
Careful....I posted something similar the other day referring to the same individual and it was immediately removed. Pretty sure I know which Mod it was too.

Amazing what you can earn on those online live streaming sites!

Long flight - sleeping tablets
Really depends where you are flying from as to the availability of suitable medication. If you are departing Thailand then you will be able to obtain something suitable from any pharmacy. Just be mindful of where you are flying to in case you have a surplus of said medication. When I am in Thailand I get a few Alprazolam (Xanax) from a pharmacy. I only tend to take ONE when I am flying from UK to Thailand on an overnight direct flight. Does the job for me. Have a great sleep, usually wake up around 2 hours before landing and don't feel too groggy.

Thailand getting cheaper
What has Gillingham Football Club got to do with it?.........

Mine and others' rights.
If the potential renter is that determined to reside in Thailand there are probably other ways he could do so, regardless of being refused a Visa from his local Thai Embassy. Depending on which country he comes from, he could arrive visa exempt or VOA and explore obtaining the pertinent Visa whilst in Thailand. Sounds like a time waster to me making excuses. Possibly found a cheaper or preferred alternative elsewhere.

You can't get a good pizza
Well, I read it and at least it's useful information. Unlike the pi$$ing competition between two of the posters earlier in the thread.

Thailand wants to see far more US and Canadian tourists as long-haul visitors spend twice as much
Exactly. They can make one large Chang last all day while it is constantly being topped up by dirty water being chucked at them.

VPN's
I admire the persistence! I just hope that whatever you were having a punt on was a winner

VPN's
I use Express VPN and can never access my Will Hill account, even when I change UK location. Sky Bet can be hit and miss and sometimes need to change the location a few times before it lets me log on. Have no problem whatsoever accessing my Paddy's account.

Delayed flights cause passenger surge and extended queues at Suvarnabhumi airport
Thanks for clarifying. That is what I thought. Seems to contradict what spidermike007 says. Luckily, I am a 71 year old pregnant monk so I should still be ok.......

Russian Arrested at Phuket Airport Allegedly Involved in Attempted Murder
Doesn't say he was airside. Could have been landside in the arrivals area of the terminal waiting for a "comrade" to arrive on an international flight from the homeland.

Delayed flights cause passenger surge and extended queues at Suvarnabhumi airport
A gold card with Star Alliance/Eva Air will allow me to use the express immigration lane on arrival? Is this luck of the draw with the ground staff on the day or a confirmed rule? I know when departing Bangkok you need to be in a possession of a business class/first class ticket to utilise the express immigration lane. This will be good news if it is indeed the case. Thanks for the heads up.

Delayed flights cause passenger surge and extended queues at Suvarnabhumi airport
This is assuming the reporting is accurate and the wait time was indeed 40 minutes. I am very sceptical that this was actually the case.

Are you having a Christmas Dinner today?

Expat vs Economic migrant
Excellent summarisation. There is a provision for savings to be taken into account and a "combination" method is acceptable.

Expat vs Economic migrant
I believe that the level of £18,600 was originally set in 2012 and has never been increased. Over the last 10 years inflation has equated to 48%. Just taking this into account would raise the level to around £27,500 so the NEW proposed amount of £29,000 would not appear to be too unreasonable.
