  1. Everyday we hear of the number of newly infected, but we don't hear the number of newly vaccinated? Or am I just not getting my info from the right sources?
  2. If he can make it to starting position, woo hoo. There's been plenty of NFL players that have been questionable, let him play and if he's over the hill, I'm sure management will handle it properly.
  3. "No mention of Non-O retirees with homes, condos, apartments, etc." So you're thinking we'd have to move out of our residences and stay in those SHA+ hotels?
  4. 33 y/o overweight topless Go-Go dancer/sex worker with two kids? ???? Must be one of those daytime bars on the small sois that I've only "read about" (cough).
  5. Is Central's Sizzler open these days?
  6. I never heard of the guy, and I have no intention of following any vloggers, so rather than needless worrying, I'll just wait till I come across a restaurant that won't let my unvaxed wife and son in for dine in service and we'll simply move on to another place. No drama, no worries, life is much calmer that way.
  7. Cars usually go to auto junkyards and get striped down for parts before being sold for scrap metal, maybe Google "auto junkyard near me".
  8. True story, many years back when I first moved into my home here on Pattaya's Darkside there was a fierce thunderstorm going on and one of my garden wall's drainage hole became clogged with debris, and the rainwater was quickly starting to flood my garden. So I went out to clear the drainage hole and while I was standing in ankle deep water and a river of water was rushing down the soi next to my house, lighting stuck nearby and I instantly felt the electricity in my legs. I quickly ran back inside where my legs tingled for the next few hours and I vowed to never go out in a thunder storm again.
  9. Is the Pattaya word for flood damage "Ka Ching"?
  10. Are these just hypothetical questions or does anyone here really still have just a basic mobile phone?
  11. Reminds me of a Far Side cartoon; But as @lesmac suggested, put a collar with a bell on it, then the birds will hear him apporaching.
  12. Let me be the first to speculate and make unfounded assumptions; all involved were playing with their phones, unlicensed, asleep, drunk, road rage, and surfing the web.
  13. For those of us that have been vaccinated in the US and not in the Thai system here's a Yahoo article showing what apps we can use to show we've been vaccinated. Good for air travel and use within the US, I doubt local Thai businesses will fully understand it, but it's better than nothing and worth a try. https://www.yahoo.com/money/proof-of-your-covid-vaccine-140136868.html
  14. Never pay or give the handy-man, contactor, electrician, plumber etc. the full amount up front or large sums of money to buy materials. My neighbor told me when he hired a team to install a new roof he foolishly gave the head roofer a large sum of money to go buy materials, the head roofer ran off and was never heard from again.
  15. "at restaurants in deep red zones. Is there a new classification of zones? Orange, Red, Dark Red, Deep Red?
  16. "the victim insulted his sexual performance, leading him to enter a state of rage and causing him to strangle the victim." A serious case of overkill, no pun intended.
  17. You know why I'm not homeless? Cause at a young age I knew if I didn't study in school, strive for a good life, assert myself in the work force, save my money, or was stupid enough to get addicted on drugs or alcohol I'd go nowhere in life. I feel bad for the homeless, but personal responsibility has to be taken into account. A "funny" thing about the homeless here on Pattaya's Darkside, they don't lay around in front of shops lying around all day like the brightside homeless, they make their shacks, huts, and hovels, plant veggies and do what they can to earn money (collecting bottles, plastics and cans). Maybe the lazy brightsiders need to get off their butts and "work".
  18. Did you ask the tree sellers at the weekend garden market on Sukhumvit? Also I drove past a Darkside place the other day and saw they had some pretty big trees for sale but didn't take notice of the types, maybe next time I'll try to grab a picture.
  19. He's entitled to his opinion just as we all are.
  20. I'll put it this way, my house is in my wife's name and I do any DIY construction projects I want and I never had any legal issues, but I have spoke with other farangs that say things like me simply cutting the lawn or trimming a tree is considered work and I'm taking a job away from a Thai and therefore illegal. Also all of my DIY stuff is simple one man projects like building a portion of the garden wall, repaint the house, replace plumbing/water pump, landscaping and once I finish learning stick welding I'm going to extend my patio roof. I'm not sure where a farang building an entire house would fall in the legal/illegal category but I'd say do what you can and call in help when needed. Cheers.
