Don Mueang Airport ranks among the most dangerous airports in the world

Yes, read that today. It is shocking. Hard to imagine how the chain of events took place to cause such a horrific injury. -
Richard, with the 1st test result and the way England bowled on day 1 of the 2nd test last night, there is absolutely no need to even contemplate using this news article to get a rise ????

I bet there is some great country for both the TY and KLR in Colarado, Papa.. Enjoy every moment of it. Off to hit some mountain firetrails here in Oz this weekend before I head back to LOS next week. -

What were the OEM tyres on cb500X 2013 model?
LS24 replied to LS24's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
https://www.pirelli.com/tyres/en-ww/motorcycle/catalogue/product/scorpion-trail-ii There you go. Up there on price and the front wears reasonably well on the edges if ridden overly aggressively apparently. Centre holds well. I'll let you know in a few months. -
What were the OEM tyres on cb500X 2013 model?
LS24 replied to LS24's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Thanks for the info from your ST2. The original Scorpions on my 500x inspired a lot of (suprisingly good) confidence. I had no issue using all the tyre in the twisties and they gave great feedback and reasonable wear. I hope the II version offers a similar feedback and grip. There is only one way to find out ???? -

LS24 replied to LS24's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Thanks for that. I appreciate it. I did a search online but didn't come up with much. But blowing up a photo, yes that is the tread pattern. Quite different to the Scorpion II that I am looking at for my V Strom. -
As the Title says, I am trying to remember what the 500X was shod with from factory in 2013. I know the tyre is probably replaced. I am not looking to purchase them, I am just trying to remember them? Were they Pirelli Scorpions?

It is encouraging to see that the old establishment of cronyism is being called out and a new generation of people keen for change is taking place in the Kingdom. Hopefully this builds into momentum that gets to a point where having expensive watches or unexplained wealth can't be dismissed with silence or condescending replies. Here's to Thailand's future one small step in the right direction at a time.

ABS light turned on now bike won't start
LS24 replied to Kawazaki650R's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
Suzuki had several years of models with dodgy rectifier/regulators. Have a look on a Suzuki motorcycle recall register and you will see years of GSXRs, Busas, SVs, V Stroms and by the sound of it, your B King, too. -

Is 1295 for one cylinder and 1948 for the other? Or is one result wet and one dry? Generally you don't want to see more than 10-15% difference per cylinder when tested the same way. I respectfully disagree. A compression test might hide a lot of issues depending on how fast the crank is turned on an engine with a leaky valve or cracked head. Reason being that the short duration of compression time in a compression test may not leave enough time for the escape of enough gas in a short space of time. . A leak down test is just as simple to set up for in a workshop and is far more accurate. Didn't the OP say they are getting coolant issues and oil issues? What better way to eliminate a whole bunch of issues than by doing a 10 minutes leakdown test. Long rides and getting hotter then fluids start to disappear? Hmmm.. And I'm not sure what you mean by "the same thing in reverse". A leak down test is usually performed by screwing in a fitting into the spark plug thread and then pressurising the cylinder when the valves are fully closed on that cylinder. A compression test has a gauge screwed or pressed into the plug thread and the pressure recorded as the engine is cranked. But Just ride it for now and monitor it as you said. Don't lose sleep over it. Also start to monitor the colour at the exit of your exhaust pipe. Maybe take a photo after each ride. Remember if it was a short ride or a long ride. Things like that. I'm only sayign this to help you educate yourself. If you see blackis or grimy pipe end after a long ride that coinsides with oil reduction, you get a reasonable understanding of what is going on. Also read that page I linked to before. I'm sure you will pick up plenty even thought it is for cars. -

How would you know if it was rings or valves allowing the pressure to escape from the chamber if you only did a compression test? A leak down test is a more thorough examination. A quick search shows this. https://dannysengineportal.com/cylinder-leak-down-test-findings-what-are-the-results-telling-you/ TL;DR but the photos seem to show the important stuff and it is quicker than me typing it. -

There is no need to plug into the ECU if there is no code thrown up on the dash. The analysis will just report nothing - as in a a space on the computer screen that shows nothing. There might be a history of previous codes that have been thrown up, but generally that history is wiped after the previous error is removed. But I am only familiar with Suzuki and Honda OBD tools these days. -

ask for a leakdown test. It show if it is rings, inlet or exhaust valve. Do you have any oil or oil residue in your air box by any chance? -

All modern bikes throw up error codes on the dash. Some do it as soon as the error happens, some need button access on the dash. It is just basic diagnostic code to start with. Do the following to get the error code on a lot of Kawasakis: 1. Push the dash button uintil the odometer is displayed. You don't want the trip meter(s), just the odo. 2. Then press both the adjust and set buttons (I think that's what they are called) at the same time for a few seconds. The ODO will change from the KM reading to an error code. If there is more than one error, it will show each code for a few seconds. Write the codes down and post the those codes here. Then we will know more. If that doesn't work, just hold one of the dash buttons for 10 seconds and see if that gets a result. Then try the other button (s) until you do. Bikes with no errors on the engine management system will not show any codes and the above functions will seem not to work. -
Indeed they are convicted felons that I was referring to.

Was recently at the new Bang Kwang prison cafe and restaurant in Thonon Nonthaburi. Prices we okay and the food was better than average. Close to the river with a decent view and the prisoners who could play music were strumming up and getting some harmonies going. plenty of outdoor and undercover tables and chairs. They close at dusk so the lads can head back to lockup. But all in all I was happy to see some good opportunity for men to get some self esteem and get prepared to go back to the real world. Talking to a few lads, they both still had a couple of years to go on sentences but are happy for the opportunity to work in the cafe and restaurant. if you are in the area looking for a bite to eat, you could do worse and you would be helping get some guys get the opportunity to start doing some good with their life. Thanks. I haven't been asked for a return or onward flight for years. That was just going to be my standard response if I was ever asked. -

Tell Heathrow staff that you will travelling by bus to a border country before flying back into Thailand and then flying home. -

It was common enough to be used in an episode of Seinfeld. OP, some f@cks must be given at some stage. Personally, I feel like you are only handed a set amount of f@cks in this lifetime to dish out. So if you use up a <deleted> on your old China who took an interest in a coworker's inner thigh, then you have one less <deleted> to use on something really worthwhile. YMMV -
Plenty of that sort of 'solid advice' from some posters around here. Let's just look at that advice for a moment: "Bits drop off as you drive along the road." No even vague understanding of what 'bits' fall off, or the situation in which they fell off. Therefore no understanding of how it was to have been originally fixed to the main bike. All new bikes of this design vintage need a shake down / tighten up. Agricultural power plants that you find in the Stallion are full of vibe by design. It would be grossly incompetent to let such a bike go unchecked for loose accessories to the point that things fall off. To the OP, like all bikes, they are fit for a certain purpose. Keep filters and oil up to them, follow the standard maintenance (no more / no less in normal operating conditions), be aware that that braking from those early 80s tech brake calipers will feel wooden but do the job and you are good to go.

And I appreciate you for posting on this subject. Fact is that there is an affect. Fact is that there is little to no taste when a bud is swallowed. Fact is there is a much longer buzz from eating the weed I was. I'm all for science. People blindly regurgitating what the read on the internet vs first hand data makes me laugh, though. Especially when they haven't even completed the very simple test themselves.
