I’m serious, if it’s dirty bush weed. You don’t need any fancy equipment, just water and fat during your processing. The dirt will be in the water and your active ingredient in the fat. Otherwise how do you separate it from the dirt? Edit; Just wanted to post a reminder to myself to not accept any offers from you to try one of your choc brownies….replete with brown dirt 😊

I know much more than you and that is what is important. Most of what you write is incomplete and inaccurate. The fact that you have someone else who does the same thing on your ‘team’ only serves to highlight that fact. One or two of you might even still be benefiting from solutions that I provided a long time ago. Including hex editing for firmware updates. So I just smile to myself that you now see yourself as the experts ☺️

You don’t need to ‘use the Microsoft Windows download AND the RUFUS media creation tool’ 😊 RUFUS is all you need to download and create the media and also to remove the undesirable OOBE options if unwanted. Such as trying to coerce you into using an online account. I don’t understand this statement at all. I can only surmise that it’s just written very poorly; “which can bypass, in some cases, but not all Microsoft Specification requirements” Which requirements are not able to be overlooked? Since the Microsoft registry fix bypasses the TPM 2.0 and CPU family check, surely that covers his situation. Would you not agree? Your statement of 4GB RAM being NEEDED is also incorrect, but not relevant here anyway.

I’m getting flashbacks with regard to your ACER. As if I had words with you in regard to the processor 😊
-
If you are concerned about the installation media method failing then do the Registry fix that bypasses the check for the CPU as suggested earlier. But you don’t need to go digging around in the Registry, as you can simply apply it to the Registry by applying the appropriate Reg file. Takes a couple of seconds and it’s done. You can check the contents of the file as are they should be, before applying it. That may take twenty seconds to check and double check 😊 Instructions can be found here, together with the appropriate Reg file ready for download: https://ocraz.com/2021/10/15/surface-pro-3-upgrading-to-windows-11/

It’s not an issue, you can upgrade as normal without any changes to the Registry. Instead of getting the upgrade via Windows Update, you simply do it via installation media. Create the installation media and run setup.exe as Administrator. You’ll only get a warning that they don’t support your CPU and therefore they cannot GUARANTEE support. That doesn’t mean that it won’t work or that you won’t receive updates. It just means that since it doesn’t meet the minimum requirements, they are not responsible for any slowness or incompatibility. But no one who has installed it on an ‘incompatible’ device has complained of any issues. It’s just that Microsoft don’t want to be responsible for millions of older devices. But it will be fine, as you will still receive updates and your Browsers etc will be the latest versions. Don’t panic. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QXiaqSCAKuI

You are right… But I wasn’t always NextG 😊 No need for any Registry edit in his case.

He’s not even in Thailand. Wake up! 😊 He can install Windows 11 for free. Decent RAM and ROM doesn’t need a new laptop. Doesn’t need a ‘newish processor’ for surfing and email. Are you going to guarantee his new laptop for eight years?

Actually you can, because food is often just a matter of taste. What you might mean is that you cannot get exactly the same taste and quality that you might get in Napoli(for example). With that I agree, as I haven’t had anything here even come close. But that doesn’t mean that you cannot get tasty food elsewhere. Not everyone will have tried an optimal example in Napoli, so anything of a decent quality would be good enough. For me, as long as each stage/component is of good quality, happiness can be attained. There are ways of improving your chances of a half decent pizza. But when a poor quality of ingredient is utilised, such as local reformed ham or vegetables not properly prepared etc it’s going to be hard to be impressed. In fact I just won’t eat it.

No one can better my Shawarma. First of all the meat is separated from the bone. I don’t use dense chicken breast for anything. Usually thigh meat with all fat and gristle removed, then sliced and marinated in a coriander, garlic, chilli, olive oil and curry powder mix. That can sit in the fridge for a day. Then the yoghurt sauce; Greek yoghurt with a little coriander mix sans curry powder and lemon juice. Wraps/Pide I get direct from the bakery just off Third road and Pattaya Tai. Cherry tomatoes and cucumbers sliced and diced with some mixed with the yoghurt sauce. Chicken then slightly browned in a pan and then finished in the oven until sizzling. Pide/wrap also warmed appropriately in the oven. Now time to combine. Homemade houmous as the first layer. Then the meat is stuffed in, then the creamy vegetables and finally slathered in more yoghurt sauce. Don’t expect it to stay intact the whole way through, but you’d be definitely licking your fingers.

It seems your ‘extensive’ knowledge did not extend to the simple concept that I introduced, until now. Now you are pretending that it was all so obvious, whilst somehow forgetting that you tied your wagon to @scottiejohn I guess you are just one of those who has forgotten who often advised you in the first place… Usernames may change by my memory does not 😊

https://www.pcworld.com/article/460970/how-to-replace-your-laptop-hard-drive.html An article that covers your specific device.

No way. I just want to be sure that we are clear going forward. It’s not a ego thing with me. I just want you to have the correct knowledge going forward.

Your choice to remain ignore-rant 😊

You’ll be able to do something with it because the swaps between SSD and RAM will be relatively snappy. Furthermore, the video is over ten years old, to be cognisant with the age of the OP’s device. So 2GB is a useful benchmark to show that it’s the SSD that makes a far bigger difference than RAM in day to day usage, rather than just boot-up as you asserted. Why do people here find it so painful to admit they learn something new?
-
There is no tiff. It’s simply sense against nonsense. The OP has adequate RAM for his usage at 4GB. The bottleneck is the HDD. The is the whole point of the thread. SSD first, since that makes the biggest difference. Then RAM, which will make a difference, but MUCH smaller. If we were referring to large music programs that need to be stored in RAM, you’d already have upgraded the RAM. That is not the issue here. For surfing and email etc 4GB is adequate. I know because that is what I am using now to run 10 Pro. Not waiting nor sluggishness. It’s the HDD that is the OP’s problem.
-
So you are agreeing with me now?
-
It’s like your brain doesn’t want to admit the truth 🤭 What is wrong with you? The video proves that SSD makes a far bigger difference than adding RAM. That’s why a device with 2GB of RAM far outperforms the one with 8GB of RAM.
-
It also proves that a device with 2GB of RAM but with an SSD is much faster than the same device with 8GB of RAM but an HDD. Which is what I’ve been asserting all along.
-
👀 Weird. First you argue that you were right and that I was wrong. But now you are claiming that I am ‘stating the obvious’ and so obviously right. Furthermore suggesting that you need to understand German to understand the video 🤦🏻♂️ No… the four different combos of RAM/storage drive are written clearly in English. The three tests are 1. Boot up speed test 2. How long it takes to open Photoshop 3. How long it takes a load a 1GB file in Photoshop You’ll see that the device with 2GB of RAM but an SSD far outperforms the device with 8GB but an HDD. Further to that, you can compare the two devices fitted with SSD, though one with 2GB of RAM and the other with 8GB of RAM. Much smaller difference between them, but both with huge differences when compared to the devices fitted with HDD.

Where to meet 50 something like-minded individuals?

As a ‘backpacker’ I was offered employment as an ‘extra’ during the filming. I declined. Being on holiday and not wanting to waste my time making money that I didn’t need. In fact it was the norm for scouts to go around the guesthouses looking for foreigners willing to be on Thai TV, commercials and films. Received many offers, but always declined. A minimum of 1200 baht per day back then. Of course useful money for some. -

Everyone is playing music? Where did I write that? Was that your engaging personality at work? In real life, I’d already be making my excuses. Many people here are simply not likeable. They want to come over as Alpha when they so obviously are not. So they cannot connect with anyone due to being so out of kilter with nature. I advise you to go make friends with those ‘wild dingoes’. Once you do that, you can move on to humans. -
Wow ☺️ Even after seeing the video, you are arguing against reality 🤭 I actually thought that you were better than that and worse still for you, you are actually tying your wagon to @scottiejohn Mind boggling 😊 I don’t want to point out the obvious, but your knowledge is pre-SSD. I tried to explain it to you as simply as possible, but it seems that you have hit your limit for learning. I even supplied a video to show you how it works in reality as opposed to very simplistic theory which omits certain realities. Such as the data loaded into RAM has to come from somewhere. It doesn’t reside in the fast RAM. It’s swapped in and out. Guess what? If it’s being swapped in and out between RAM and SSD, it will be faster than swapping between RAM and HDD. Because the HDD is much slower. It’s so simple, but that simple concept is obviously a step too far for a couple of people here. Now go to look at the full specs of drives; SSD and HDD. But this time don’t just look at maximum Read and Write, but the speeds at doing so with lots of small files and IOPS. https://www.icc-usa.com/the-io-bottleneck-and-solid-state-drives-ssd I always know as soon as someone starts writing about their experience and technical expertise….

I didn’t/don’t have this problem at all. I know some of the same people I met more than twenty years ago. But look at what you write…’college keg party’, ‘party’, ‘gig’… I didn’t meet any of my friends at these places, but on small island communities where it was the norm to greet each other. So you build relationships differently. You are seeing each other almost every day, helping with advice etc How are you going to get a similar situation in Pattaya or Bangkok? Maybe you should widen your interests from parties and gigs. But chances are that everyone is doing their own thing and will have little or no interest in spending time with a lonely guy. Lonely guys are boring. That’s why they are lonely. I’m not referring to you specifically. But here are examples: I play a musical instrument and have a general interest in music, so I could meet people on that basis. I cycle, so I could meet up with scubascuba and the like, but not for long, as he would only see my dust 😊 It’s super easy to meet people if you are engaging. But if you are just hanging around the centre, meeting people in bars or parties…. what do you expect? You have nothing in common other than the bars and parties.
