  1. NBC has a bit more information regarding this case: "The police could not find him still on Friday so they asked if my daughter can lure him out for a meeting and we did that together with police presence while she texted him. And that’s how he was arrested on Saturday," the mother said." "The police told the family that Rockwell had photographed and filmed the couple's weekly sexual encounters without the girl's knowledge, she said. Police have not confirmed this to NBC News." and they end with this tidbit "Thailand has a longstanding history of sexual abuse of minors committed by foreign workers and tourists. In 2008, Canadian teacher Christopher Paul Neil, who taught in several Asian countries, was convicted after hundreds of photos were found of him allegedly engaging in sex acts with young boys. In 2009, Wayne Nelson Corliss, also Canadian, was sentenced to almost 20 years in jail for his part in an international sex tourism ring that preyed on young boys in Thailand." Fox News states: "Royal Thai Police Lieutenant General Thitsit Sangsawan told the Daily Mail that Rockwell was charged with unlawful sex with a minor and recording the sexual acts." Sure does not bode well for teacher Puke
  2. This BOI "investment visa" thing you all harp about is not a fully functional company. My wife opened a representative office for a Japanese company 10 years ago way before this BOI "smart visa" that also did not require 4 to 1 Thai ratio. It was just my wife and her Japanese boss in the office. This means they could not issue any invoices here in Thailand and all the billing had to go to HQ office in Japan. This severely limited their ability to do business here and grow bigger among plethora of other things. Once they decided to become a sales office and eventually go all in by opening a factory they were required to hire 4 Thai employees for each 1 Japanese staff. So what exactly is nonsense in my post? Edit: Actually I don't want to fight with you, I want to learn more ???? Because 6 months ago my wife got hired by European manufacturing company and she is again considering opening a representative office. However, I am just reading about BOI and was wondering about the tax free import duty on machinery. She will be importing bearings from China which is already tax free, but the company also has a factory in Singapore and Spain which is I understand is not 0 tax. Is there any place I could read up more about what products can she exactly import (tax free) and if it makes more sense opening BOI or a representative office.
  3. He seems to be related to Christina Pushaw. Which is not very good for him.
  4. Botox is something people used in 1980's. There is much better non invasive tech available in Thailand these days.
  5. What does it matter how much it costs when they hardly pay out claims.
  6. I would rather deal with lower exchange rates than 0% interest the banks were paying 2-3 years ago. Now I gat over $1000 a month instead of zero AND the exchange rates are higher due to interest rates being higher.
  7. It is not, but considering the alternative it is a better option in Thailand.
  8. Went last November to Canada, deposited 250k into HSBC at 4.88%, interest paid monthly. Today the same rate is 5.5%. I will be renewing and hopefully the rates remain the same. On that note the price of my condo went down. Rates in Thailand are on the opposite spectrum. If you want to save they pay you nothing. If you want to buy a house you pay 2% more than back home. So, nothing to support the currency, just the plain usual robbery for Thai people. DO NOT BUY REAL ESTATE HERE. IT'S A MUG'S GAME
  9. Strange that they put the name of condominium. Must be a lot of poors living there.
  10. Ok.... I stand corrected about BOI. ....which is an investment visa and has nothing to do with real companies operating in Thailand. Every single company needs 4 Thai staff to 1 foreigner. No exceptions,
  11. I am handicapped by definition as I am a foreigner. I always tell my wife to use the handicapped space when she is driving me.
  12. Laza Sometimes you get extra discount/free shipping or cashback when you use it.
  13. Major BS. Even Siemens where my ex wife worked on BTS project had to hire 4 Thai staff per 1 foreigner. Of course they have many Thai staff work for them, so it is not an issue. My current wife deals with many Japanese companies and they struggle every time Thai staff leaves because they immediately have to look for a replacement. So thanks for confirming that that you don't work for BOI company and probably don't work at all and just making up stories. OR Your company is doing something illegal.... oops
  14. Yes, this is my thinking too. Hernia repair is not exactly a straightforward surgery.
  15. Probably another one bleeding money because they have to hire 4 useless Thai staff for 1 foreigner.
  16. How do you know all this stuff if you don't pay for sex?
  17. Considered it, will never do it....in Thailand. Try adjusting/experimenting taking omeprazole and gaviscon when it actually benefits you. I find that for example the usual advice to take it 30 minutes before the meal does not work for me that great. I find that it better works when I take it just before bedtime. Also try gavoscon advance which is a little harder to find. If your problem is hiatal hernia like in my case the biggest trigger would be spicy food and all kinds of junk and sauces they put here in Thailand. It has very little to do with the actual junk food we consider in the west. I find that carbohydrates are actually great for me and salad to be the absolute worst. Also it is very important not to starve of be hungry as not to overeat. What are your symptoms exactly? Do you have problem breathing?
  18. Thanks for the link: Mr Luke, an American English teacher & TikTok celeb with 1.3 million followers, was granted bail by Southern Bangkok Criminal Court Mon in the case of child abuse of a 16-year-old with a bail price of 100K bt & prohibited from leaving #Thailand unless authorised by the court.
  19. State laws don't apply when you are travelling abroad. This is a federal crime and the minimum age limit is 18 years of age. It is all written in plain and simple language on US government site that has been posted quite a few times.
  20. You know... there really is no need to go around posting confused emoticons every time I get you triggered and called out
