  1. I am guessing, but someone correct me if I am wrong that in "civilized country" the repairs would not come out of police officer's pocket, but would be covered by either police or insurance.
  2. Is there as point of watching 46 minutes of this as I am guessing we already live in Gambia posting on Gambian forum and know the story of sad old expired humans wanting something that they can only buy with money.... kinda like here in Gambia where we live and post. I already watch 90 day fiance with sad fat Western women and men going through the same cARP, but at least it is funny.
  3. You can buy 1500 houses in France for dat money
  4. It is a very bad hedge, same as bitcoin. If Gold was currency hedge the price would be much higher today/ I bought some gold (only 7oz) in 2012 at the price of around $1600. Today the price of gold is what.... not even $1900. Yes, I bought at the top, but even if this was the case the prices of everything tripled since 2012. I bought me a condo in Toronto for 235k now it is 600k.... and I only invested 25% of that money.... the rest was a bank loan which was paid by my tenants. BTW, if I sold that condo today they bank would be paying me minimum $2300 monthly for a term loan in Canada. With that I could buy 1oz of gold every month, but I don't want to because it is a lousy henge. Instead for physical things I buy Star Wars and Lego. Yeah.... you heard that right.
  5. Typical newbie. Probably thinking it must be so easy to trade gold selling it to shops. Kinda like buying a condo in Thailand and if it does not work out you can always sell it for a small loss. Except there is this small thing called commission. lol
  6. Wow.... I wonder how you go to bed with someone like this. My guess. You probably don't.
  7. I find the exact opposite. Most Thais don't give a flyin f As a matter of fact I am watching pron while my wife is sitting across me not giving a damn
  8. In those 3 years he could have followed the simple rules and extend his visa. He could have also applied for a residence permit for his Children in Sweden. Wait.... he could still do that. But perhaps children are better off living in a village without this loser.
  9. She obviously went to see her bro We all know Thais can't live without their families, wots German guy problem
  10. The thing is old guy is stubborn and if the surgery is involved he will certainly not follow the required phisio. He still works and he won't even put a compression. I am afraid it will be money down the drain. He says he is not in a lot of pain.
  11. To be fair, I read a few stories of bargirls rescuing broke, stuck with nothing to eat Farang in some old day forums. I wish I bookmarked those.....
  12. Too funny mike. Some payments have gone towards tossing sum salad , water sports, (or use your imagination for for worse scenarios that can not be mentioned here) from prospective German, Arab and Indian future husbands. No emotional damage... beginner - you say. Edit: I have nothing against bargirls, but when talking about them it is important to avoid talking BS
  13. I went for a visa run gloat
  14. I am 49 and I look 50
  15. Japan population 125 million - 3.3 million millionaires. China population 1.4 billion - 780,000 millionaires. And those millionaires do not come to Thailand. You must also think Thailand is also filled with ultra rich when you pass by Thonglor. Too funny.
  16. Would it be able to change the thread title so I don't look like an idiot for future generations googling this topic.
  17. Not me, but my wife's father who is 75 years old. He just got back from a MRI scan and from reading it it looks like a total (Category III) muscle rupture. Some most important text from the scan: "FINDINGS: The study reveals supraspinatus tendinosis with full thickness full width tear at tendon insertion with medial tendon retraction to level of humeral head, measured about 3.0 cm in transverse diameter and 1.4 cm in AP diameter. Mild atrophy of supraspinatus muscle is noted (Goutalliers grade II). There is subscapularis tendinosis with low grade partial thickness tear involved the articular surface at tendon insertion, measured about 0.9 cm in transverse diameter and 0.6 cm in vertical diameter. There is infraspinatus tendinosis with low grade partial thickness tear involved the articular surface at tendon insertion, measured about 1.6 cm in transverse diameter and 0.7 cm in AP diameter. The teres minor tendons show normal size and signal intensity." The hospital (Bangpakok) quoted him 300k for the what I think is keyhole surgery. This will be out of pocket. He managed ,to get MRI scan paid for by using his accident insurance, but they will not cover the surgery as it is over budget. So, today they are going to try and use a 30 baht scheme, but I don't think this is going to work or that it will be free. In any case I did some amateur research even here on Asean now and read some replies by Sheryl. However, some replies got me worried about the surgery as it seems that when it is done on older people it may make things worse or/and the tear might come back. Some suggested that surgery, even for total rapture is not necessary. I found this article which it seems to support this: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29433644/ I just want what is best for the old man.
  18. I am Canadian and have compared private healthcare costs in Montreal (where there is a thriving private healthcare industry) to Thailand. Most costs are cheaper in Montreal. This got me curious and wanted to compare the same healthcare costs to Australia. To my surprise (come on, not really), most of the procedures in Aussie private hospitals are cheaper than Thailand. https://www.bupa.com.au/health-insurance/surgery-cost-calculator mind you this is BUPA and it is probably already an overpriced quote. I think I may just fly to a medical holiday in Australia when I have an issue and deal with competent doctors who I am sure when something goes wrong will not charge me extra for their screw up.
  19. Sorry, I think this is nonsense. The same kind of nonsense when people cry about being ripped off just because they are foreigners. Fact is, Thais get ripped off by Thais more often and far worse than so called Farang. They get beaten, injured and killed by Thais proportionately in much greater numbers than foreigners. I am absolutely certain that Thais treat us better just because they could potentially get in more trouble simply because a 500b fine and a wai does not cut it with most Westerners. We also fight back. Culturally a night and day.
