Yes it is. They want you to be in these countries for tax residency purposes. Anyway, your biggest issue is not taking care of GERD. As a reflux sufferer I know the issues you are facing, but all those online ideas will not materialize unless you have specific skills. Not most, but ALL online courses are a scam. Your only choice would be selling online or teaching English. You say you are 66 years old no one will hire you, so that means you would still be open to teaching? Ask @simon43 about it.... I think he taught online.

Thailand’s food delivery drivers feel pinch as Grab, Line rack up losses
Celsius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Exactly. That is why they are going bankrupt. Another good example is from shopee and Lazada. 20, 30, 50, 90, and 100% cashback vouchers. 25% to 30% off on promo days. The seller barely pays for these vouchers (maybe 1-2% extra off the order total). The buyer certainly does not pay. The total commission is way less than these promo codes. It is another mystery of Thai economics. My guess is that Thai people are bankrupt. My wife just switched jobs and it was supposed to be easy sales to car dealers and factories, but she is struggling with over 20 years of experience. She lost all the sales to cheapest of the cheapest Chinese junk. They are handing out these vouchers like candies, probably to impress shareholders with amazing "revenue". It is a total scam. -
Thailand’s food delivery drivers feel pinch as Grab, Line rack up losses

Yes. Quite odd this tipping culture. I would rather tip 7/11 and McDonald's staff. How cum people don't tip those? They work extremely hard with no breaks at all. I tip massage staff very nicely because it is a service industry and it requires quite a lot physical effort.... 2 hours without any rest and then off to the next customer.... if they are lucky. Now that is work. Do you tip postal workers and Lazada delivery guys? Makes as much sense as tipping Grab drivers. -

Have I Missed the Boat ?
Celsius replied to lolex's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yea... that is the calculation he will have to do. Maybe there is a possibility of opening a non resident account with HSBC or open the account using his wife/daughter name. -
Have I Missed the Boat ?

If you are asking a question like this at 72 then yes you missed the boat. However..... 9 million baht can be put in australian savings account at 5% and it will give you additional 37,500 monthly income. Combined with 40,000 it should be enough. -
Etsy has fantastic advertising tools that you pay through your nose once the item sells. However, like you say all products are supposed to be "hand made". How strict are they enforcing these rules depends on your luck. If a competitor reports you more than once you will have your account banned forever.

It is very hard to do online business from Thailand. Before you consult a tax advisor, he should start by opening an eBay account and see if this is something that will be a viable business long term. eBay is more unfriendly with Thai sellers these days. Now you have to go through Payoneer and get verified if you want to get paid and to start on eBay they will normally give you 3 to 50 active listings per month until you "prove" yourself which is really nothing. Also from my experience American buyers prefer buying from American sellers due to many issues including higher shipping costs, easier return options and various trust issues. Opening your own website will cost a lot of money on advertising as trading cards is something of a a niche market. I have been selling online for the past 20 years and 15 years ago I would have recommended Amazon to do this. Now it is almost impossible to get approved as a seller and even more difficult to list the products without getting banned.... especially if you are not located in US and don't have original invoices from a distributor.

I did

But is it 99 baht?
-
Yes, they will. This is why Amazon is called Scamazon because sellers on Amazon experience the most amount of scams as Amazon allows it. You can return anything for any reason, do a good old switcheroo and keep your $2000 item while returning your used underwear. This is why stores in SF are closing down. Thieves thrive while businesses are going down the toilet.

US English teacher arrested for sexual relation with 16 y/o student
Celsius replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
They care. I originally come from a slavic european country. If a 20 year old man had sex with a high school girl the police would not do much. If you met her father and he killed you with a shotgun they equally would not do much. -
The video makes no sense. Like 3 different videos

US English teacher arrested for sexual relation with 16 y/o student

NBC has a bit more information regarding this case: "The police could not find him still on Friday so they asked if my daughter can lure him out for a meeting and we did that together with police presence while she texted him. And that’s how he was arrested on Saturday," the mother said." "The police told the family that Rockwell had photographed and filmed the couple's weekly sexual encounters without the girl's knowledge, she said. Police have not confirmed this to NBC News." and they end with this tidbit "Thailand has a longstanding history of sexual abuse of minors committed by foreign workers and tourists. In 2008, Canadian teacher Christopher Paul Neil, who taught in several Asian countries, was convicted after hundreds of photos were found of him allegedly engaging in sex acts with young boys. In 2009, Wayne Nelson Corliss, also Canadian, was sentenced to almost 20 years in jail for his part in an international sex tourism ring that preyed on young boys in Thailand." Fox News states: "Royal Thai Police Lieutenant General Thitsit Sangsawan told the Daily Mail that Rockwell was charged with unlawful sex with a minor and recording the sexual acts." Sure does not bode well for teacher Puke -
Bangkok governor wants the city to become “international business hub”

This BOI "investment visa" thing you all harp about is not a fully functional company. My wife opened a representative office for a Japanese company 10 years ago way before this BOI "smart visa" that also did not require 4 to 1 Thai ratio. It was just my wife and her Japanese boss in the office. This means they could not issue any invoices here in Thailand and all the billing had to go to HQ office in Japan. This severely limited their ability to do business here and grow bigger among plethora of other things. Once they decided to become a sales office and eventually go all in by opening a factory they were required to hire 4 Thai employees for each 1 Japanese staff. So what exactly is nonsense in my post? Edit: Actually I don't want to fight with you, I want to learn more ???? Because 6 months ago my wife got hired by European manufacturing company and she is again considering opening a representative office. However, I am just reading about BOI and was wondering about the tax free import duty on machinery. She will be importing bearings from China which is already tax free, but the company also has a factory in Singapore and Spain which is I understand is not 0 tax. Is there any place I could read up more about what products can she exactly import (tax free) and if it makes more sense opening BOI or a representative office.
