But in fact credit card chargebacks are easier if you go through an agent and if you have a half decent credit card that includes travel insurance you'd be covered for most issues. Another benefit booking through an agent is that you don't have to beg an airline at check in to let you in if you don't have a credit card with you that you used for the payment. If someone buys a ticket for you there is always an issue if booking directly.

If you are in Bangkok and order on grab you will notice that very often your favorite food place will close after 6 months. The problem these days is that even people with good paying jobs are quitting and starting a "business" due to stress at work or whatever thinking it is an easy way to make a living while not having a boss. Typical Thai mentality and my wife was going this route too until I intervened. Thinks at the moment are pretty bad. Thailand is getting cheapest of the cheap tourists and no one is spending money. I also read the news from back home. Restaurants are complaining that the situation is now worse than during covid. It is not just Thailand.

The passbook at CW needs to be updated on the same day. I am with SCB and there is no SCB branch at Chaeng Watthana. I have the same problem every year where I I have to make a stop at the SCB branch before stopping at immigration. Fortunately we have a car and there is one branch 5 minute drive from immigration. What's more, once you pick up your extension after 30 days, you will have to update the passbook again.

Well, I hate the place. Full of cheap decrepit condos that were sold as luxury developments less that 10 years ago. I know, I was here. The malls are just a bit bigger than community malls. The traffic makes Bangkok pollution even worse. W district is ok for younger people. Much better places around MBK (samyan) Silom, Sathorn..... but of course it costs more to live there. I used to live on Ramkhamheang near Bangkapi mall. Much better choices of everything than On Nut will ever offer including Western food choices.
