Crew Rescued Amidst Yacht Fire Near Pattaya Coast
Bobthegimp replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
They were doing sea trials after repairs. That is the test. It failed. So did whatever fire suppression system the boat was equipped with. Larger vessels use hifog systems, some with additives to knock the fire down faster. A small vessel like this one might have had CO2. -
How did it go Georgegeorgia? I use a small pen knife, rinse the ear with bleach and suck out the detritus with my male enhancement pump.

Frozen pension policy turns British expat's dream into a nightmare
Bobthegimp replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The government and those still toiling away see Brits who live outside the country as unwanted filth. Not even "second class" citizens, but disloyal filth, worthy of contempt and deserving of nothing. They'd happily give you nothing and have you move back, only to die whilst waiting to see a doctor. It looks like a lost cause. They'll inflate your pensions down to pocket change. -
Foreigner Breaks Police Lock on Illegally Parked Bike in Phuket

When we were kids there was always some old man clutching his pearls and warning us about the perils of whatever we were enjoying. None of our faces ever "stayed that way" none of us lost an arm by putting it out the car window. It's still fun and games because none of us has lost an eye - yet. I often run with a popsicle in my mouth to defy those angry geezers of my youth. -

It wouldn't have helped the progressives' chosen people anyways. Believe it or not, Ukraine has a draft! Now that Ukraine has more money and weapons from the US, they've cut off consular services for military aged men and dropped the minimum conscription age to 18. https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-suspends-consular-services-military-age-men-abroad-2024-04-23/

It didn't occur to him to wet himself down and sit in front of the fan? Why didn't he knock on your door and pop in for a cold drink? You seem like a decent sort who would have helped him out, as would most posters on this board. Where in Thailand is it 44c at night? Most places away from large bodies of water have greater diurnal temperature ranges and cool off significantly at night.

Thai scooter tales - add yours

Do the guys who have posted pictures of their "big" bikes on this thread actually ride them anywhere? I saw very few big bikes on my recent tour of Isan and the Mae Hong Son Loop. I do see quite a few guys on big bikes cruising around Pattaya in 1st grear and working their Hellboy sized clutch hand in the heavy traffic. They don't look comfortable, but they look cool; definitely hero material. I'm sure it's an absolute blast to do 180 or 200 on some of the new concrete highways that have cropped up all over the country. Maybe some of the timid big bike boys will make it out of first gear and past the grocery store to discover how great these new highways are. -
Heatwave Alert: Thailand Expects 43C Weather and Severe Summer Storms

Fair enough until they move the weather stations from the shade into the direct sun to get their desired result. -
I'm surprised they didn't work Ukraine and the Middle East into this story, as most of the other boxes have been ticked. Climate lockdowns coming soon. It died from a Thai "heatwave" outside of Thailand?

All religions preach the same thing regarding materialism, yet who is at the top of the financial food chain? Deeply religious men who wear small, black hats. Show me someone who was wealthy and renounced materialism. They're as rare as hen's teeth. People smoke dope because they were never in the game in the first place. Nothing wrong with that, but you can't renounce what you've never had.

Heatwave Alert: Thailand Expects 43C Weather and Severe Summer Storms

The photo of the thermometer buried in hot sand is indicative of the whole climate change hoax. Below is a screen capture from the 7 day forecast for Vancouver, B.C. Two items of note are the word "normals" for temperature when the word should be "average". The second item is the cutoff for recording temperatures at 2013. Yes, the climate priests are manipulating the data and the public, and they're doing the same here. Climate lockdowns in 3-2-1.... -

In Canada there would be members of the medical "profession" trying to talk her into assisted suicide. The woman holding mumzie would have her in a rear naked choke. -

What's with the thread hijacking? Coming on to this thread and crapping on scooters is like going to the gay section and disparaging homosexuals. You're not endearing yourselves to anyone and you're not going to find converts here, so what's the point? -

Attached is a photo of my 2023 Honda Click 160 at a gas pump on Phuket last May (pre suspension upgrade). I'm based in Pattaya and have toured all over the country on this scooter. Last month was a ride to Chantaburi, Buri Ram, Surin, Roi Et, Phitsanulok, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son Loop but detoured down to Mae Sot, Ayutthaya, and back to Pattaya. Also a few trips south, as far as Krabi. I rode to Chantaburi along the coast of Rayong on Monday and returned to Pattaya the next day, just for a change of scenery. The suspension has been upgraded to the stiffest YSS front and rear springs, which is the only way I could have done the recent tour. The stock front suspension bottomed out too easily and I wasn't confident going hard into curves with it. No bottoming out with the new suspension. The odometer just rolled over 16,000 km (since Valentine's Day 2023) and it was in storage for 3 months last year. I had the front and rear pads/shoes replaced today for 550 baht at Mityon. The average fuel consumption on the long trips is fairly consistent @ 46km/l. The seat is the Achilles heel of this machine on long rides. Why do I tour on a 160? I love small displacement motorcycles. Touring on a 350 or larger bike would be much faster and more comfortable, but it's a different trip. Thai people talk to me when I'm stopped at a red light with them. On Monday night in Chantaburi a pickup loaded with durian rolled down the window and two lovely young women engaged me in conversation, thankfully in English, whilst waiting for the light to turn. A big bike wouldn't have fit into that space and a pleasant interaction would have been missed. The bike will go 90 all day, and 110 if I want to torture it, but I often find myself going slower and stopping to look at interesting things along the way. It's fun to ride slowly on back roads through villages. On a big bike I'd be doing 140 in the fast lane all day. I know myself. -

An expansion of credit enriches those at the top of the food chain as they get first dibs on newly created money. The prols get inflation and a reduction in living standards. Or something along those lines. With modern voting methods and ballot stuffing techniques there has to be a benefit other than votes to proceed with such a change.
