Frozen in time: British expats losing out on pensions in Thailand
Bobthegimp replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
British pensions are frozen in Canada, as well, and they've whinged about it for as long as I've been alive. There were protests and marches during my childhood which always ended in property damage and full paddywagons. There is a rumour that the British government is about to eliminate the freeze for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ people as freezing their pensions is clearly discriminatory. -
It's good that you don't emulate his behaviour. Keep working until you don't have to split the rent with an aged bar worker and beg for money online. That channel is one of the weakest, low effort attempts on YouTube. The comment section is full of men who mock the guy and are waiting for him to don the wingsuit and make a "Soaring Over Jomtien" video. Do the man a favour and take him back to Australia when you go. He could sort himself out and return with some dignity.

Did you pay him the 300 baht he used to get back in the good old days? Bowing and scraping from a farang, while gratifying, doesn't keep his mia noi in durian. That requires cold, hard cash.

Pattaya Police Raid Poker Gambling Ring, Arrest 9 Foreign Players

And poker chips? Ok Matlock. Why don't you use your cutting wit to defend these clowns? Maybe it will be televised. -
Foreign Rider Killed in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash in Jomtien
Bobthegimp replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
That's an incredibly frustrating section of road to ride. Most of the cars are going 37 to 45 km/hr in a 60 zone. Baht buses make frequent stops and there are some wicked potholes. The couple in the picture weren't wearing helmets, as is evident by the river of blood streaming out of the guy's head into the gutter. I'm amazed at how many timid, finger wagging members are on this board. Don't drink, don't smoke dope or take pills, don't ride motorbikes, dead below the waist and hating on anyone who injects a little adventure or risk into their life. Get out and have some fun! -

British National Killed in Sattahip Motorcycle Accident
Bobthegimp replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
No heavy rain in the photo. There was a sign at the median between the flyover and the underpass. He rode right into the sign (the cuts and fractured skull) and the bike disintegrated when the front wheel made contact with the median. There could be a dozen reasons why he hit the median. Hell, it could have been target fixation or being distracted for a fraction of a second at the wrong moment. I ride there and turn around back to Pattaya at that spot a couple of times per week. People who are making a Uturn don't enter the area at a high rate of speed. -
Pattaya sweeps streets of homeless to ‘clean’ up its act for tourists
Bobthegimp replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
There are plenty of homeless women wandering around Pattaya. A friend brought one home and cleaned her up. Said something about a diamond in the rough. Rough was right. He took her to an expensive hotel's breakfast buffet and she wandered around looking for garbage cans to eat out of. Kind of sad. She couldn't handle domestic life and went back to the streets. -

What am I missing? Gambling is illegal in Thailand and police raids are not. This wasn't a hiso bridge club with affluent Bangkok Thais present. Where have you been and what did you see? Where did the police hurt you? Show us on the doll.- 89 replies

The Indians weren't like this before being colonized by the British. -

Ghosted: Spooked Chon Buri man blames ghost for KFC order
Bobthegimp replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
My God man, you're right! There is no mention at all of what became of that mountain of chicken. Perhaps the ghost got it. -
Yes, it breeds bad habits for when they start their careers in the adult entertainment industry. Bar owners levy stiff fines against tardy employees. Spare the rod and spoil the child. This lot was old enough to receive electric shocks to the genitals. The soldiers were very restrained in their correction of these kids' behaviour. Maybe the parents need the genital shocks.

850 baht buys a hell of a lot of chicken. I wonder how much of it he got through before the coppers arrived. -
So, 2 Brits and not one. No doubt it was just a coincidence. These two were probably gleefully singing "my grandad killed your grandad" to a couple of passing Germans when the disagreement broke out. With any luck the survivor will serve his entire sentence here and not back in one of those cushy UK prisons where one can identify as female and bunk with the ladies. Decent Brits know exactly what I'm talking about and despise that element of their culture. You won't find many Yanks who know about that song, at any rate.

Absolutely shocked to read that a is Brit involved. It's almost as if they can't enjoy a drink like civilized people do. A sniff of the cork and they go berserk, from bashing all and sundry to public defecation and stripping naked to wash the feces off in a public fountain. If the baht is devalued we can look forward to plenty more of stories like this in the future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2UaREfTyBk&pp=ygUSU2lzYWtldCBzZXdlciByYXQg

I'm back in Vancouver now. You'd need deep pockets if you don't have somewhere to stay. The weather is perfect and there's no garbage strewn about. The roads are orderly and people wait their turn. I've yet to see anyone double parked. The long days are a joy. I actually prefer the interior and spend most of my time there instead. I didn't miss Vancouver but I'm glad to be back.

Starting a business involves various types of risk. In this instance the risk is "regulatory risk", which means that regulations can change in the future and the risk is borne by the entrepreneur or venture, and should have been priced in during inception. The big players will have seen this as a possibility and priced it in when starting their ventures, and by spreading the risk throughout the chain. I'd be surprised if any have had enough time to integrate horizontally or vertically, so there will be many bag holders and the pain will be spread around. Another year should be enough to recoup most of their investments, but woe betide the commercial real estate market unless they can find someone else to fill the void. I think most Thais were dead set against marijuana legalization and the prior globalist aligned government rammed it through anyways.
