We operate two units that more than cover the entire house, both readings are very similar. We also run the air con on dehumidify mode and use filtrette on the air intake, that helps a lot when things get bad outside. We're seriously considering an IQAir machine this year, after the current season passes. At 49K it's expensive but it can't be beaten for the air quality output and the build quality also.

Cool! Make sure you take details of the bank account with you when you visit the Amphur. And make sure you give the bank a copy of your will because that often short cuts things when the time comes.

The nearest AQI sensors are a couple of miles away in either direction so it's not always clear exactly what the AQI reading is at our house. But we run two air purifiers 24x7 so I know what the readings are inside.

Here's what a sample will will look like, just so you can understand the effort involved: This is the last will and testament of I, (your full name), born (your date of birth) holder of UK passport number (your passport number), address (your address). I hereby revoke all prior wills and codicils. This will covers all my assets in the Kingdom of Thailand only. I hereby appoint (insert the executor name) as executor of this will. NOTE: this can be your wife Being of sound mind I do freely chose to bequeath all my assets in Thailand, including the contents of my bank account number (bank account number here) with (bank name) located at (address here) to my wife, (wife’s full name) whose address is (address here). In the event my wife does not survive me, my assets will pass to (second choice name) whose address is (address). Signed In the presence of: Signature witness 1 Address Signature witness 2 Address

You could do all those things and they might work out well but I can't say with certainty that they will. I suspect you already understand that bank accounts in any country should be frozen on the death of an account holder and that technically, disbursements from the account cannot be made without the approval of the Probate Court. Again, technically, the estate of any deceased person is meant to be subject to Probate and that involves a cost because only a Thai Solicitor can address the court. The situation in the UK is similar except a solicitor is not always required for Probate but there is still a cost involved. Since you propose to write a letter anyway, why not just write a will, the effort will be the same except you need to have two people witness your signature? Alternatively, why don't you and your wife visit the Amphur and write an Amphur will, that will cost almost nothing? If you decide to write a will, I'm sure we can find you the right form of words to write one in under one page of A4. Once you have a written will you can lodge a copy with your bank, that might be sufficient to allow your wife access to any funds and should cover her is she continues to use your account after you die. Whether or not your wife can completely avoid probate depends on whether she can remove all your funds first and whether the bank insists on going the probate route. I don't know what the bank would do if your wife withdraws funds from your account after you die, technically that is illegal but there again TIT. I hope that helps, let me know what you want to do next.

HSBC banking

The HSBC phone app is very simple and easy to use. I was nervous about using banking phone apps but after a year of using them for both UK and Thai banks, they are a god send. -

I have both HSBC internet and their phone app, they work fine together. It won't let you use both at the same time (of course) but they co-exist well. The phone app is a good replacement for the smart key and can generate codes needed for online. -
TAT estimates 18.5 billion baht spent during Songkran festival
nigelforbes replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It does say that the TAT estimates for Songkran are just that, estimates and not precise numbers. But since you have your crystal ball in play and can see ahead of time how long it will take to count votes next year, can you please give me the winning lottery numbers for next week? Thanks in advance. -
India, Bengal to be precise, takes a slightly different view: *Bites by Bats or Rodents do not ordinarily necessitate rabies vaccination. However, in unusual circumstances cases may be considered for vaccination in consultation with an expert in the field of rabies. (Example: exposure to domestic rodents does not require PEP but if the rodent is wild then the bite victim may be considered for PEP in consultation with the expert). A mouse is usually a domestic rodent, but for a large size rat it is difficult to determine whether it is domestic or wild. Vaccination may be necessary in case of bite by such rats)". https://www.wbhealth.gov.in/uploaded_files/IDSP/Animal_Bite_Management_Guideline_F.A_.Q_._.pdf

Well I suppose if it turns out to be bad advice, posters can always sue Mr Google!
-
Advocating that posters go against medical advice represents poor judgement on your part, hopefully you wont repeat your newly acquired google knowledge for a third time!

Any recommendations, from personal experience only, please?

I have two: 1) Instead of staying to see Stones in the Park I left and went to work for a 3 pm shift. 2) Instead of going down to see Bruce Springsteen in Miami I stayed at work in Lauderdale all afternoon, pumping gas for two bucks an hour. How stupid humans can be at times.
