    I was just on khmer440, the expat forum in cambodia. a westerner just died mysteriously, which probably happens often. seems like corruption might be off the charts there. here is the guy's mother posting on the forum, claiming he was murdered. Clean up your filthy country, improve living standards and stop the system of bribes that runs rampant.

    wasn't being hostile. was trying to be helpful in suggesting not to let bob's negativity get to you. if you interpret my comment as hostility, maybe you need to go back to school to learn English or you need a psychologist. lesson learned for me: stop giving out advice to strangers on aseannow. you never know who you're talking to. and never underestimate how stupid people are.

    what do you mean "you're losing my mind?" you need to be mentally tougher than that. watch out for snakes in the grass. some people are deliberately trying to make everyone else miserable for xyz reasons ... they can't stay in thailand etc ... ignore people who are not objective and who have a hidden agenda. whatever you do, don't lose your mind. it's the only one you got.

    the main "moral issue" is under the table / undeclared monies. even in conservative western countries, if the "massage shop" is paying taxes, then it's good to go.

    I wouldn't leave credit cards or cash in a hotel safe. Always take with you. But if you go partying at night, you will need to leave the laptop and maybe a bulky camera behind. So where do you put that stuff?

    if there is too much theft in a hotel, the police would catch on very quickly. so hotels are probably strict with staff. would they risk losing their jobs over your stuff? depends on the value i guess.
