  1. how did you get back on here? i thought they got rid of you. conspicuous timing just as they changed servers. let me guess. mrs bob smith is a hacker?
  2. that and psychological issues that cause one to transition in the first place
  3. this guy played goons in movies all his life. so he know a thing or two about goons? actor should not get involved in politics. neither should basketball players.
  4. Well, the numbers are important. But what about the perception in society? Is it ever going to change? Will they always be perceived negatively?
  5. I heard Italy might pull out of the EU , but nothing about France to that effect yet
  6. Never flew first class. Above my pay grade. But I did once stay at the Inter-Continental in Hong Kong (on someone else's expense) Luxury is nice, but .... A staff came to my room and brought chocolates to welcome me to the room and he bowed as he gave me the chocolates. First and last time anyone every bowed at me. I get treated like crap mostly in real life. First class 5 star hotel/restaurant folks love this kind of treatment, to be made to feel like they are royalty. I find it all ridiculous. And it's not healthy for your ego to spiral out of control and you start thinking you're more important than everyone else.
  7. This reminds me of WWF wrestlers. He's acting. It's all fakery.
  8. no, you cant live off tomatoes and cucumbers and street food
  9. and onlookers did squat to intervene while wolfing down their quiznos subs
  10. It depends how you define scam. It's 100 baht, not 10 000 baht. Is it fair that you were born in a western country where you can afford to fly to thailand 3 times a year and a baht bus driver makes a pittance? Is it still a scam?
  11. 100 Thai Baht equals 2.15 Pound sterling. That's barely enough for a pack of gum in the UK? Yeah, that's worth getting into an altercation and risking the other guy having a weapon on him or having friends nearby gang up on you. And the violent altercation being filmed. Some people lack survival skills. But then again, he was drunk. Which is one reason I don't drink much. Act stupid in public and get yourself killed.
  12. Also consider getting a weighted vest and look up some bodyweight exercises you can do with the weighted vest.
  13. yeah, divorce and cancer at the same time. when bad luck hits you like a ton of bricks all at once, thats tough for anyone. but people should have at least one close friend to help them through tough times.
  14. you dont think drinking and driving is a big deal? people often die because of it, ya know?
  15. 10% is the magic number that keeps coming up over and over and over. Everyone who tries to convince others to invest in mutual funds always uses 10% as a selling point every single time. So does that mean that most mutual fund managers are actually averaging 10%? Or does it mean that all investors have been brainwashed with the same sales pitch? I've looked at some portfolios where the numbers were 30% one year and 0% the next. How can the same fund manager who got 30% one year be so incompetent and get 0% the next year? You might argue the markets had a bad year. And I will argue that if someone is proficient in investing and able to get 30% one year, then they should be smart enough to avoid the markets altogether during a downturn instead of giving you 0% for the year. It makes no sense.
  16. Depends how you define regulated. It's the only profession in the world where they are not obligated to provide anything and still get paid. If your fund gets 0 per cent one year, they still get paid. And you are claiming that you made 10 per cent during Covid when most businesses were shut down? So you made the same during Covid as you did in all other normal years? I don't believe people who claim they make 10 per cent per year year after year in mutual funds without nary a glitch. It's the fund managers getting rich, not the investors.
  17. If you need to take bulky DSLR camera equipment, it's best to take it on the plane if possible. To suggest that we should only take a small sweater on the plane is silly. On some airlines, there's no weight restriction as long as you are strong enough to lift it up and place it the bin yourself.
  18. I don't think the mutual fund industry is "regulated" in home country either. As it's all basically gambling and the fund manager takes 2% and most funds don't do well.
