  1. It has become a sort of ritual. And people who have them are kind of part of a tribe. Probably all bar girls have them, but how many non-bar girls have them in Thailand?
  2. Not exactly sure how it works in Thailand. But back home, maybe 20 years ago you had to hide your tattoos or you might not get hired during a job interview. So that probably actually prompted more people to get tattoos, as an act of mild rebellion against excessive conformity. So the conformity itself is the problem, telling people they're bad if they have tattoos. I went for a massage and asked the masseuse if she had a tattoo, and she went into a long explanation of why not all people with tattoos are bad. And she's right. We need to stop judging people with tattoos. It actually looks pretty cool on most people. Although some people overdo it.
  3. But you've bad-mouthed Xi on numerous occasions and moved to thailand. So you're a defector.
  4. why would anyone drink tea from a glass and not a cup? I dont get it.
  5. this is pretty funny. he's making a video about expats sitting in bars in pattaya and explains why they're losers. ha ha ..... maybe you can do sth like that too.
  6. Who cares who lives where? You can avoid people you don't like anywhere in the world. Bali expats are "lower class" than pattaya expats? Really? And anyway, someone who surfs is low class? Or are you just jealous they still have the energy to surf?
  7. and get yourself kicked out of thailand. you need to watch what you say if you start a youtube channel.
  8. I stopped consuming it. I'm guessing I can get decent fats elsewhere and have decided to cut my losses with this olive oil madness. Good luck if you can outwit the scammers.
  9. who cares if you're saving a few hundred baht here and there? way too much hassle to be constantly chasing down deals. just pay businesses what they're worth and travel less if your finances are tight. I don't even believe your "free hotel" claim ... impossible.
  10. There are toxins in our foods which can lead to cancer, but notice how they are consumed for decades before cancer develops. And no one is forcing you to eat them and there is sufficient research out there and most people know which foods are junk foods. There is no one jab that will give you cancer. Elon Musk is actually encouraging people to have children and speaking out against low birth rates. China implemented a 1 child policy due to massive population. Notice they didn't implement a ZERO child policy. Govts are not sociopathic serial killers who want to wipe out entire populations overnight with jabs. You're being manipulated by these conspiracy quacks. That doesn't mean "the official narrative" is entirely on the up and up, but "turbo cancer" from a vaccine doesn't exist.
  11. anti Trump protests are erupting you guys happy?
  12. I hadn't found myself until 6 minutes ago when Cameroni posted. I looked in the mirror and he's right. I'm a wretched cauldron of snakes who likes to post sad emojis on AN. Thanks for helping me find myself, guys!
  13. aldous huxley ... wow. we've reached such a state of desperation that we need aldous huxley to guide us through the dark times. what else are we meant to be doing besides consuming and seeking out entertainment?
  14. Just watched an interview with Trump on Oprah in the 80s. And he was talking like someone who cares about his country. Of course the people at the top make more, but if the country goes to crap, they don't make money either.
  15. I think it's the opposite. Precisely because they are already so rich that they are not motivated by greasing their own pockets. But pointless to debate as impossible to prove.
  16. I just read the first couple of lines of the article. The writer has worked for some NGOs in Africa. Probably holding a grudge due to the budget cuts by DOGE. The fact is, no matter who is in power, some people might benefit more than others. It's only normal that one president might decide to re-allocate budget to another area, etc ... Just because this guy lost his funding for his NGO, that's not my problem. And speaking of corruption, I worked for a major NGO. There's a lot of graft going on, mismanaged funds.
  17. why do emojis bother you so much?
  18. That demo shows that we would rather believe the science we've been brainwashed with than believe our own eyes. Clearly something off when you hold a model plane up to a globe.
  19. No, it's that people have been away so long. And making that conclusion reinforces your own decision to leave permanently. Still, you could have picked a lot worse places to live than Thailand. And Thailand is, arguably, in many ways, a better place to settle than back in the US. So pat yourself on the back, young man.
  20. Be afraid. Be very afraid.
  21. no, some people pull it off as they literally have real jobs that allow them to work online. on my flight here recently, a guy on the plane said his company lets him work anywhere. i think he manages an IT team and it can all be done remotely. I never had a job like that, but it's a relatively new phenomenon. Other people are trying their luck with "drop shipping from Amazon" and don't do so well.
