I stayed in a hotel in Thailand for one month. They added 500 Baht cleaning fee at the end. I was never told this in advance. I didn't debate it. I guess the cleaners work hard and are under-paid and the hotel can't quite pay them the salary they deserve, so they have to pick our pockets. Fair enough. Hotels are cheap here anyway.

I researched one meal a day and decided it's not enough and settled on 2 now. Maybe not enough nutrition ie protein for example can be absorbed in one meal. it's one of many issues that nutritionists disagree on, so I won't push you. but I decided 2 might be better. there's a lot of conflicting information in nutrition.
-
Yeah, I know one nutritionist I follow was saying eat the majority of calories earlier in the day. So you have the entire day to burn them off. Makes sense. Except when I'm not eating in the morning, I guess the body is living off of stored calories anyway. Also, in the evening, there are more food options available. There's people grilling meats everywhere after 5 PM. More options available. So more convenient to not eat cheat meals.

I think some people simply do not get fat as easily as others due to genetics, but it doesn't necessarily mean they're healthy. Being slim is one indicator of health, but not the only one. My father was never fat but still had heart issues. So some people are deluding themselves. They think because they're slim their diet is perfect. In a way, I'm lucky I get fat easily. Because my body is warning me something is off.

Of course everyone labels Xi as a dictator. And now Trump. He has raised the standard of living of the Chinese in recent decades. Also, have you noticed that every conversation on AN turns into a dispute? Have you noticed that everyone thinks differently? Do you expect a govt leader to check in with 300 million or 1.5 billion people every time they make a decision? What would happen? Nothing would ever get done. Because everyone would just argue incessantly. Like the incessant arguing on AN that will never end because people don't see the world the same way.

This guy is BLUNT. Doesn't hold back. -
Skipped breakfast this morning (apart from coffee), and did not feel hungry until noon. So definitely have been eating too much. I've been bouncing around like a pinball, constantly changing due to contradictory health advice from different sources. I don't know what I'm doing anymore. We should do a "What You Eat in a Day" thread. Everyone posts exactly what they eat and the times. And their waistline / BMI

yeah sorry, sounds like you're eating a massive amount of food and very high carbs. have no idea how you're keeping the weight off, but that won't work for me. i don't do pasta anymore and still having trouble keeping the weight down. although i may take your advice on the breakfast thing. though the issue is there are way more food options available after 5-6 pm. so that's why I wanted to skip breakfast and just do lunch and supper. thanks for sharing anyway, but your system won't work for me.
-
If you've been doing 5 meals a day and not gaining fat, consider yourself lucky. Or maybe you work out religiously and do a lot of exercise. That would never work for me. Even 3 meals is too much, so I've gone back to 2. I will start skipping breakfast.

Why so many conspiracy theorists and what to do about them
save the frogs replied to kwilco's topic in Off the beaten track
I had a cat allergy a long time ago. Since I am open-minded to alternative therapies, I went to a homeopath. The way it works is that there is a small dose of the poison in the homeopathic remedy. And this is designed to get your system to start fighting it. So when a larger dose of poison in the form of cat hairs comes along, the body has already received a signal to fight it off and the immune system is somehow ready for it. (obviously rudimentary science, but sth like that). Now that I have been thinking of vaccines, I recall a previous comment that stated vaccines are full of toxins. Maybe it's the same principle as the homeopathic remedy. A small dose of the poison acclimates the body for the real poison in the real world. Just because it doesn't work 100% of the time doesn't mean it's useless. And just because it contains toxins it doesn't mean it's meant to try to kill you. The toxins are meant to be a small dose of the poison that's not enough to get you sick, but just enough to stimulate your immune system. And maybe in 0.001% of people it can have adverse effects. I did a google search. I don't know what this guy's credentials are, but he is reaffirming what I believe both vaccines and homeopathic remedies are doing in the body. Of course many people think homeopathy is bs, but it has been around for eons. https://www.quora.com/Can-vaccines-be-considered-to-be-a-form-of-homeopathy-that-actually-works a vaccine holds up a severely hobbled of dead sample of a pathogen to your immune system and says, this is bad… see it… smell it… know it… when next you see it… kill it. An oversimplification of course but you get the idea. -
I think I read somewhere that Uber Eats keeps track of tips and people who tip less end up getting slower service for future deliveries. I don't know how much truth there is to it. But it wouldn't surprise me.

exactly. they will spit in your food.

Yeah, keep tipping. And they will start demanding more and more.

Crime Jealous New Foreign Boyfriend Stabs Russian in Pattaya
save the frogs replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
The girl is stupid, like so many modern women. If you have a new boyfriend, you cut off the old one. Most women cannot be with one man in this day and age. Especially in Pattaya, maybe.- 97 replies

Yeah, it's out of control. But the same thing is likely to happen in Thailand if people keep supporting this system. Already the lines are getting blurred at some places between mandatory and voluntary, with a 10% service charge added. It might get out of control in Thailand too. And I don't think I need to act like "The Labor Minister" to decide who needs a little extra money. Restaurants need to pay fair wages. We don't need tips. Nobody tips the cashiers at Big C, do they? They probably don't make much. It's all brainwashing. We're told to tip at restaurants and all fall in line with the herd.

Yeah, he said something similar on Oprah many many years ago. About how the Japanese were selling their cars and electronics in the US and hurting local manufacturers. This proves that he cared about the economy of the country as an average citizen. And now that he's president, people think he's a con artist who is deliberately trying to run the country into the ground and doesn't care about the country.
-
Yeah, but not sure it's relevant here. Since he seems to have removed the heart of the victim, we're dealing with a very sick individual, maybe a mass murderer with previous offences. He probably would have killed female sex worker, unless he was specifically targeting a transgender for whatever reason.
-
Yeah, but if there are 2 regular people going to the same restaurant and one guy is always tipping and the other guy isn't, they might start to not like you.
