  1. Maybe need to wait and see what future moves Trump is planning to make to get a better grasp on what is taking place. The entire geopolitical landscape seems to be on the cusp of monumental changes.
  2. what a joke. alcohol and drunkenness at 2:30 am and safety do not co-exist.
  3. Actually, a brilliant idea. We should be able to order custom-made tuk tuks with neon lights and ride them around. Would be better than a scooter.
  4. trump haters are so desperate they need to attack his wife's looks. she's drop dead gorgeous.
  5. It's called starting a family, that sort of thing. That's how you got here. If everyone just pumped and dumped, the human race would end.
  6. anyone can kill anyone for the slightest triviality is what i'm getting from this
  7. beware of miserable expats planting seeds of doubt in your mind. and there are several on this forum and out there in the world. one of the survival skills in thailand is to watch who you let into your headspace as people (many expats) are highly skilled at stealing other people's peace of mind.
  8. well, that's one type of problem that needs to be addressed. again, the hope is that most people are not worried about not having enough to pay bills for basic needs in the future.
  9. It's not that simple. Of course the billionaires will always exist. And there might be the world's first trillionaire at some point. They do have the capacity to make all our lives miserable, I suppose. Anything could happen. But there is another way of looking at it. If AI replaces human labor and the elites keep human beings afloat, then people will no longer need to work. And people will no longer need to spend 80% of their waking lives earning money in the drudgery of work or worried about how to pay the bills like we all have been our entire lives. So fewer people may own McMansions than in the past, but neither will they need to work 80 hours a week their whole lives. And if people are not working and worrying about paying bills, then what will people be doing? One can envision a future world where the average human being is much different in their way of thinking than the average person today. Not only will the world change, but people will change a lot, I am guessing.
  10. germany had an election do they have a democracy? or ... how does it work there?
  11. you're probably right. but younger generations may also need to give up the obsession with owning. the world is changing, and people who are fixed in their ways and think everything should be like "the good ol' days" might be frustrated.
  12. You can adapt to changing situations. There are also more opportunities to make money online now than there was 20 years ago. If I was in my 20s, I would work online and live a nomadic life. You can travel the world rather than buy an over-priced house and be trapped in one place.
  13. https://www.theguardian.com/science/2004/mar/30/drugs.sciencenews GPs know they are overprescribing antidepressant drugs such as Prozac and Seroxat, but believe the lack of other forms of help for those suffering from mild depression and stress leaves them no choice The findings are alarming in the wake of a decision last week by US drug regulators to demand a warning that some people might become suicidal on them, and the decision last year by the British regulators to ban most of them from use in children for the same reason.
  14. You have 1000 posts this week! I will catch up to you and beat you man!
  15. Well, his father and uncle were assasinated? Maybe a rough childhood? Maybe precisely because he had the resilience to overcome a heroin addiction that he has the spiritual fortitude now to be an effective leader.
  16. Yes, Big Pharma is corrupt and over-medicates for profit. And I don't think he's doing anything shady. I think he is genuinely interested in the well-being of the population.
  17. FYI: There are supplements on iHerb for varicose veins, but don't know how effective they are or if they are useful at all for severe cases
  18. Yep, went to a doctor once and he was trying to push anti-depressants on me even though that's not what I went to see him for. Depression is part of life. It's manageable without medications.
