I hear this often, that foreigners in Thailand exude a sense of pride, but beyond the allure of the tropical weather and the affordability, it's hard to pinpoint what they are truly so proud of. Is it the convenience of inexpensive food and living? The endless array of beaches, mountains, and vibrant nightlife? The freedom of enjoying a different pace of life without the pressure of their home countries? Is it the ever-popular street food scene or the warmth of Thai hospitality? Perhaps it's the strong sense of community they feel among fellow expats? The relatively low-cost healthcare? Or the ability to live in a country that seems to hold so much charm yet so few rules? I mean, apart from the natural beauty and the slower lifestyle, what exactly are foreigners so proud of in Thailand?

It's very uncomfortable in social settings when you're the only single person there. People think you're nuts and even if you're not very insecure, it does affect you. Thailand is a much better place if you want to live off the beaten path of conventional lifestyle.

I just watched a video that claims the EU will invest hundred of billions to boost its military so it doesn't have to depend on help or any alliance with the US anymore. Trump is having major ramifications on geopolitics all over the world. But to quote Shakespeare, there is nothing good or bad. Who knows what's good or what's bad? All we know is things will be different. The EU is adapting. Canada might cozy up to the EU and there even talks of Canada joining the EU.
