US English teacher arrested for sexual relation with 16 y/o student
Shop mak replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Readers in AseanNow are not only from USA or UK. Try not to make most topics about those countries. Boring. Irrelevant for majority or readers worldwide. Luke has been arrested in Thailand and will be sentenced HERE. Likely serve first 2-3 years HERE before blacklisted, extradicted and serve remaining sentencing in his country. Maybe more charges will be coming, since media reported previous similar cases that he has been involved in. https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/tiktok-teacher-luke-rockwell-arrested-after-sex-with-16-year-old/ -
Girls. Nightlife. Food. No 5 star. Got you. Huge changes last 20 years. Traffic is horrible even now in low season. Ladies are way chubbier than 20 years ago. St and lt was B500 then, you lucky if you find B1,000 for st now, unless you walk on beach road. LT was the norm 20 years ago, today most only go ST, unless you offer 2,5k+. Massage shops and weed shops has replaced many 7-11. Good dinner restaurants behind Kiss restaurant, across from Mike shopping mall, second rd and soi Diana. Budget mode: Kiss restaurant B100-200. Food lover: all other restaurant behind Kiss restaurant, typically 500-1000. Beefeather Steakhouse #1, check reviews. 4 star $$$$ though. Worth it. You speak thai, eat cheap thai breakfast less than B100 sold most places soi Buakhao. Or the many proper restaurants same soi B100-150. Meeting ladies daytime are mostly online, beach road are mostly a miss daytime until dark. 7pm until 3am peak time for action there. Dating site like Thaifriendly for daytime meetings. Inflation also online, st 1200++ but quality can be very good. Book very early. Soi Honey off soi Buakhao, can be good for a pop-in quickie any time they're open. Stay in the thick of it: Any hotel near Soi Buakhao area, also for girls and nightlife, Tree Town area across from McDonalds. Like slim girls? Choose early, after 7-9pm mostly only chubby 65kilo++ available. Like mature women 40+ with a extra padding? They are in majority, all bars full of older big ladies. Like it hardcore? Sure you still remember soi 6, laidback afternoons, really get going by sunset 7pm. All expences 2,500+ per day, budget hotel, 3 meals, st lady, excluding alcohol and transportation. Want to shrink this budget? find a B400 day guesthouse. Welcome back.

Cost vary a lot here in Pattaya. From my personal experience, the more units in building (s) the more strict are Juristic Management. Consider that too, depending on what you prefer. Some condos only have a weak management, without a actual lawyer. They seldom act (scared). Avoid imo. Check out proper parking regulations, and also rules for the controversial electric vehicles of any kind.

Monkeypox outbreak: Surge in cases among Thai teenagers
Shop mak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
How is it spread from person to person? The virus is spread through physical contact with someone who has symptoms. Rashes, body fluids (such as fluids, pus, or blood from skin lesions), and scabs are particularly infectious https://news.un.org/en/story/2022/07/1123212 To answer your question, another quote from Link Contact with objects that have been in contact with the infected person - such as clothing, bedding, towels - or objects such as eating utensils can also represent a source of infection. -
Nah, just 2 guys who can't agree who has the longest (you know what)

Many news reports about foreigners who trashed a condo, altered it, left it like a huge garbage fill. As a landlord I prefer a tenant with a rental history. I ask what owner or agent he rented from previously, and if I can call them for reference. That works for me. In younger days as a tenant, I dressed well, very polite to agent or owner, and never had to answer many questions. Times changing, and too many bad tenants around. Landlords has to be very careful these days.

Intoxicated British Man Beaten by Two Thai Men in Pattaya
Shop mak replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
What's the last local crime news that most remember? British father and son in soi Buakhao, who had a go at security staff at Matador bar. Great Britain are not among the top 10 countries of arrivals in Thailand. Still British men make the news too often. From my observations since the 90s, Brits are popular among expats and others. Many Brits are true gentlemen, and big fun to be around. This tourist (?) however had probably been drinking since last night, and at 5 am he got himself into this situation. I can imagine a british working class guy who had been waiting for years to go back to Pattaya, and wanted all the fun he could have 24/7. His alcohol level was likely extremely high at 5 am, hence his moronic behavior. Can't see this as Brit bashing, in any way. Some posters could come across in a better way, their delivery is just very wrong. The fact remains, Brits are overrepresented in the news here. -
The son often showed signs of mental instability and a propensity towards violence, frequently arguing with his father Rescue workers had previously visited the crime scene twice, once to escort Paul for mental health treatment The son, usually parking his motorcycle in front of the house, had left his vehicle elsewhere that day. A son filled with anger, planning to get rid of his father, parked his motorcycle away from the house, premediated murder.

Many Brits said on Page 1-2 that he probably created this incident, who knows better than a fella from the same country? Don't see any Brit bashing here, if you read the whole story -
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Obesity_in_Thailand Obesity in Thailand has been flagged as a major source of health concern,[1] with 32% of the population identifying as overweight and 9% obese.[2] With reference to 2016 data from the World Health Organization (WHO), Thailand has one of the highest incidence of overweight citizens in the South East Asian region, second to only Malaysia.[2] The Thai National Health Examination Surveys (NHES) found that obesity in Thailand more than doubled during the period 1991-2014.[3] This spike in obesity levels has been largely attributed to increased access to junk food,[4] and unhealthy switches from active to sedentary lifestyles.[5] These factors are closely linked to economic growth in the country.[5]

Do Thais stay slim??? Really? Too many topics here where many members moaning about how ladies here have gained weight (compared to the 80's and 90's) Sorry to OP, you got this totally wrong. Edit: also Thai Press has written about the obesity problem, multiple times.
