  1. No, it doesn't matter where you go or for how long you will always have Big Sam knocking on your door. If you leave/cut ties with Thailand as a tax resident (as a non US person) and stay over half the year in another jurisdiction you will be deemed a tax resident in the new jurisdiction and have no liability to Thai tax authorities.
  2. Not quite true. It depends on the rates in your home country and the rates in Thailand. If you pay rates in your home country equal to or greater than what the rates are in Thailand then you won't be taxed. If you pay less tax then Thai tax dept will take the difference so it meets Thai taxation rates. Maybe there will be exemption for taxations on government pensions, I dont know.
  3. Thanks for the recommendation
  4. Are there other names or hospitals that you would rate higher than the recommendation above?
  5. Not sure if there is such a specific type of orthopaedic professional for Tibia/Fibula fractures? I see there is for ankle, knee etc. Although I have never set foot in Samitivej Sukhumvit, any time I have emailed with questions they were quick to respond. Would this hospital/specialists be considering a good option for a Tibia reconstruction after a spiral fracture? Is there any indication as to what this might cost out of pocket? Are there alternative options/specialists available in Bangkok that can offer similar quality of work at a better price point?
  6. Can you post the link? Common for agents to post very low prices to get attention but "its already rented sir we have another one for x" when you ring up. Enquired about a place on Soi 13 that was advertised for 11k and couldn't get anything cheaper than 15k.
  7. The worlds foremost health and climate expert telling you we are all going to die from either climate change, pandemics or eating too much meat while he clocks up more emissions in one year than me and you do in our lifetimes. https://www.businessinsider.com/bill-gates-bought-43-million-san-diego-california-beach-house-2020-4 The west can continue on its track of green propaganda and its ever increasing price and unreliability of energy while China continues to provide reliable and cheap energy for its citizens and industry. https://www.npr.org/2023/03/02/1160441919/china-is-building-six-times-more-new-coal-plants-than-other-countries-report-fin
  8. It's the same everywhere, you have good and bad. Chances of finding bad in Pattaya exponentially higher than elsewhere in Thailand for obvious reasons. That goes for all types of locals not just the women.
  9. If you want raw milk go to a good supplier. Id suggest choosing grass fed cows as opposed to the industrial type. Good chance they are in better condition health wise than their corn/soy/antibiotic loaded counterparts. Maybe get in touch with Paleo Robbie to see if they can supply it or one of their suppliers. They choose more ethically friendly suppliers, by all accounts.
  10. Any examples? Ive never seen a 60m2+ place with pool/fitness in typical expat community a few mins from public transport for that price. Public transport meaning BTS?
  11. Dont forget Miami, all the owners of the media companies are buying water front properties whilst telling us we are all going to drown. People still swallowing this garbage is the funniest part.
  12. Is it just me or does there seem to be an inordinate amount of males from Scandinavia (given low population of these countries) in Pattaya and following on from that ones that get into strife?
  13. Wouldn't accept my cards a few days go. Paid cash
  14. Is this a trolling post? They ask me do I want coke every time I walk past them. I presumed they did that to every Westerner under 60. Do I look rich, do I look like a junkie or do I look like a mug? ????
  15. I notice the PM just got treated at Phramongkutklao hospital. Any reason why he would have chosen this one, has it got a good reputation?
  16. I didn't think you could open a Wise account as a Thai resident Or is it just a debit card they dont provide? https://wise.com/help/articles/2968915/can-i-get-the-wise-card-in-my-country?clickref=1011lwCmuxnu&partnerID=1101l59062&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=0&adref=&utm_source=nomadgate&partnerizecampaignID=1101l644
  17. The box I have right now is called the "T95", is anybody familiar with this? Ive lost the remote but can order another one through lazada. Maybe I can download some apps onto this instead of having to buy a fire stick
  18. Pirate bay is still a thing? I thought that had disappeared.
  19. How do you download what you want to watch? Id like to be able to watch ppv live so I don’t think it would cover all my needs but still something I’d like to be able to do.
  20. The advertisements I got from the Jurisdic office had a line number that I contacted directly. He was wearing an AIS jacket. Like other poster said, fairly basic procedure.
  21. Used to do this with Vuze. How is it done nowadays? I have a hard drive plugged into side of the TV and this is what ive been suing last few weeks.
  22. Fast enough for these streaming TV apps/services?
  23. What apps do you use? Is there anything the apps dont cover?
