  1. I was looking at tyres last night online. I didn’t see much about the Pirellis but many mentions of Michelin City Grip 2 tyres for scooters. Are Pirellis better, which Pirellis?
  2. The mirrors on my girls Scoopy are terrible. I expect they will be a lot better on the ADV with the drawback that sitting through traffic won’t be as seamless
  3. What makes Quad lock the best? Do you find your phone getting red hot in the Thai sun using these holders?
  4. Getting my Honda ADV 160 this week. What modifications have you guys done on your bike that has had a positive benefit compared to factory spec? Im thinking I will get a phone holder for using maps while driving. Maybe a tinted front screen. Ive seen some bikes at night with extra spot lights, sometimes yellow and I could see them being helpful for night driving. Curious about the benefits of getting one of those almost looks like a half cages that I see on the lower front end of some bikes?
  5. No idea but they edited a thread I started a couple weeks ago. I asked the question in the thread why they changed the title and they didn't have the respect to even give a response.
  6. Many recent headlines don’t paint Koh Phan Ngan very favourable. Have these things been common over the years or just having a bad run?
  7. Likely so, in an altered state of mind from chemicals of some sort, mixed with failed relationships. Also whats the best way to knock someone off in Pattaya if you’re connected well enough that it won’t be looked into? A balcony jumper is news for three days.
  8. If that was the case there would be headlines a few times everyday of this happening in Bangkok given the population but there isn’t.
  9. Wasn’t aware there was a mall so close. Is there much in the airport itself in regards to food/drink options? I’m guessing there is probably a place to get a massage in the airport itself.
  10. Under different circumstances I would choose the uni over the other options. Looks like a nice place to wander around for a half day.
  11. I’ll dither my way to the pool for a nice swim tomorrow
  12. Between to and from travel times to airport it’s likely closer to 5 hours. I would do an hour in the gym. Get some food and have a swim and sauna. 3-4 hours worth which would leave me with plenty of time to get back to airport for my flight without rushing.
  13. 150 baht taxi is fine. I think the easiest/most stress free thing to do is go to and from airport to Shangri la. I will have a small suitcase so I don’t want to be lugging that around a mall or university for half the day. I like the idea of getting in a pool/shower/gym half way through all the travel to freshen up a bit and get some exercise. Hopefully the pollution doesn’t get any worse My departure is approx 7pm so going from Shangri La to airport I would need to depart at maybe 1730 to allow for travel and check in? How busy is the airport right now I’ve read about some dreadful Qs in Bangkok.
  14. I was just reading the other day that the pollution isn’t bad in Chiang Mai this year? Can’t get grab at the airport to town? Does it ever take longer than 30mins from airport to Nimman? Wouldn’t want to miss my flight. Maps is showing circa 20 mins? shangri la day passes seem reasonable 🌞 Swim your worries away at one of the largest pool in town and enjoy the special promotion of our pool day pass. 15. Yes maybe a hotel with a day pass/min spend to access pool/sauna and gym and have some food, any suggestions?
  16. can anyone use the pool there?
  17. I’ve got a 7 hour stopover in Chiang Mai on Saturday afternoon. Is there anything worthwhile doing in that time? Not really interested in temples or anything like that I’m more thinking a good restaurant and/or coffee shop I could go to that’s not a lot of hassle to burn 2 or 3 hours? Maybe go for a nice sauna/cold plunge/massage nearby?
  18. You can get fixed price from Pattaya to Bangkok for less than 1000 baht in a car?
  19. It's a built up and hectic part of Chalong, not sure why it says Rawai. I drive this stretch of road everyday. There are lots of side roads on this stretch with alot of residential units, restaurants, accommodation, 7/11, weed shops, bars in the area. At that hour of the morning it's fairly quiet, the road gets busier between 6-7 as hotel workers are on their way to and from work but this is earlier than that . Can only guess the driver was coming home from a night in Patong and speed/stimulants were involved. During the day there are bikes zig zagging every which way but not at this hour. Phuket roads are lethal
  20. The ADV160 say 99k on the Honda website. Ive priced about 10 garages and cheapest has been 103k so what your being quoted is prob fairly close to what you will get at the dealership. Might get it for a couple k less if your lucky.
  21. Never heard of Maxim, why not use Maxim in Bangkok? Is it strictly of transport?
  22. I almost always only use Bolt in Phuket for taxi. So much cheaper than grab. They offer different options and usually the cheapest option guides at 10mins for pickup and even then it often cancels, if you can get one at all. If you choose the next cheapest option it works almost as efficient as Grab and is still much cheaper. Wouldn't recommend using it on a tight timeline as drivers will choose to do a Grab pickup before a Bolt pickup to earn extra cash if they have the choice. Hence the cancellations. Grab for food delivery is quite pricey considering they add a charge onto the price of the meals compared to buying at restaurant then they also charge delivery and other charges in top. Still doesn't stop me from using it. I just paid 230 baht for a medium sized starbucks which I thought was ridiculous. Shouldn't have paid that really its a rip off
  23. Am i losing my mind, Im sure I didn't write this headline as "for TAXI" Some of These apps encompass alot more than just "for Taxi" Ah yes I see now, moderators changed my post, why? Grab, Lineman, Robinhood all offer other services apart from just taxi
