I think you'll find it has already been moved from wherever it was. It is in the Business in Thailand, Jobs in Thailand, Insurance forum. -

I love the way he dropped a few harmonics into the performance. I love that sound, and he made it look so easy. -

Well, I don't want to break forum rules by posting how to get round the ads on the forum so I won't post the name of the browser but it is a well-known browser that's easily available for computers and mobile devices.

Thaksin won't be coming home in July - not this July anyway. Maybe in July 2033 or 2043. Waaaay too much 'stuff' to clear up first.

^ I use a different browser. My browser does not allow ads or annoying pop-up videos.

Swedish bank notes now useless abroad
asf6 replied to webfact's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Surely the Swedes can do the same as the rest of us did 30 or 40 years ago - go to a currency exchange at home before you leave and take your foreign currency with you on holiday. -

I have a sim card with a package that has unlimited internet. I chose the speed I wanted but other speeds are available. Slower speeds are cheaper, faster speeds are more expensive. I use AIS. I pay 1800 baht for 6 months at 6Mbps download speed. I don't know what the upload speed is. It is pre-paid/Pay as you go. Here's what's available from the 'myAIS' app.

I've never tried it but I'm sure I'd like it. I had some mint chocolate ice-cream the other day. That was good.

Two Electric Meters - how to switch between the two?
asf6 replied to mallmagician's topic in The Electrical Forum
A bit more about that^ Apparently Peak times are 9am to 10pm on weekdays. About 15 minutes before the change time (say 8.45am), check your current usage of both on and off peak (scroll through the display to find them). Monitor it until just before the time change. Take a note of both readings. Then half an hour later check both readings again (assuming you are using electricity at that time). One reading should have changed, the other should have remained the same. If, for example, at 9.30am, your off-peak reading has remained the same as at 9am and your on-peak reading has increased since 9am, your meter "clock" is correct. You should be able to easily check the current time on your meter by scrolling through the display settings. A few YT videos say the first thing shown on the display is the current date and the second thing shown is the current time. Whether that clock affects the on-off peak charge, I don't know. It's quite possible that that is set centrally somewhere. Just my thoughts and 2 baht's worth. . -
Two Electric Meters - how to switch between the two?
asf6 replied to mallmagician's topic in The Electrical Forum
Ref: checking the clock on the TOU meter. Do you know what the specified times are supposed to be for off peak for your meter? If so, you could go and stand in front of the meter for about 15 minutes, starting 10 minutes before the time and click through the display. At the appointed time see if anything on the display changes. There will probably be something, a symbol or something, you just have to figure out what it is/they are. -

We keep talking about how bad education is here
asf6 replied to kingstonkid's topic in Teaching in Thailand Forum
Thai "free education" isn't totally free. Parents have to fork out school fees for various things. Only a few thousand baht per term you might say, but some parents struggle to find that money every term. -

Mysterious death: Woman discovered lifeless in sedan at Isaan resort
asf6 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I assume this is the same woman and resort. https://thainewsroom.com/2023/05/26/man-arrested-on-suspicion-of-killing-girlfriend-at-resort/ Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Killing Girlfriend At Resort A USED car dealer was arrested on suspicion of killing his girlfriend at a resort in Buriram after police tracked him down to another resort in this northeastern province, Matichon newspaper said today (May 26). Upon being arrested Mr. Pramuan (surname withheld), 47, confessed to having beaten his girlfriend, Ms. Chularat, or Or, 21, until she suddenly collapsed. He then tried to give her cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but when she did not regain consciousness he called the resort staff to take her to Lamplaimat Hospital, which is close to the resort. * I hope I have followed the forum rules regarding copying material from news sites. The following appears to be part of the law on renting property in Thailand. Thai Law Translation Civil and Commercial Code 'rent of property' Section 560. In case of non-payment of rent, the letter may terminate the contract. But, if the rent is payable at monthly or longer intervals, the letter must first notify the hirer that payment is required within a period not less than fifteen days. https://www.samuiforsale.com/other-miscellaneous/translation-thailand-lease-law.html
-
That's fair enough, but if the law does not cover a particular area of a topic, then there would be no law to follow and (in this instance) landlords could write what they want. We need to see what the actual law states on this particular topic. It may be clear, it may not be clear on this topic.
-
I think if you read carefully the article that you quoted that from (Fresh Property), it is not actually quoting the law. It is quoting what that property firm put in their standard rental contract. https://freshbangkok.com/bangkok-landlord-dealing-with-difficult-tenants-late-rental-payments-and-evictions/ .

Mysterious death: Woman discovered lifeless in sedan at Isaan resort
asf6 replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
There are lots of small resorts in that kind of location - just off a main road in a rural area. They are aimed at passing traffic and people who want to stay there for just a night or two. The rooms inside look OK going by the resort's FB page, with double beds, a/c, a fridge and a TV. If that car belongs to the woman, the police should be able to find out who she is. It looks like a Korat number plate, and the car's road tax has not been paid for over a year. Let's see what the police come up with. RIP whoever she is. .
