  1. Welcome and thanks for your first post. Thailand is extremely dangerous and extremely not dangerous. It depends. Hope that helps ????
  2. I came here to say only this as well. But really I'm sure you'll find a lot of very normal guys that married women say up country and just have a quiet life. You'll never bump into them anywhere but all quite" normal". At a certain level I would consider myself normal although others probably wouldn't. But that eccentricity is allowed me to be out here for 30 years, understand some way to squirrel away a modicum of retirement savings, remain married to a woman that loves me, hold down a series of respectable jobs here. Years ago there were a lot of eccentric and colorful people now it's just people with mental malfunctions and those running away from debt, family, drug problems.. whatever
  3. Tbh I never did until this year then I had a fright. I realized at best I have thirty years. That made me realize at best I have 25 years of reasonable health and twenty years of reasonably good health. That means whatever I want to do with the rest of my life needs to be pretty much done and over within 15 years. Moreover, it also means that I'm pretty much done... I will be placed in a box never to wake - forever. Most importantly it's made me really reflect on what I need to do to put in place for my wife.
  4. The demigods of beer and fried food maybe?
  5. OP why didn't you simply list the price range you need to purchase a phone at? I'm recommending the OnePlus Nord 3. Possibly a TCL phone I've been reading some reasonable reviews for them at the bottom end. Personally, I've never paid more than about $300 US for a phone and usually I try to keep it under 10, 000b Don't buy online unless it's from the official store. Even if it's from the official store run a video as you open the box so you can validate any scam that potentially is inside. be certain to check for purposeful spelling errors as well. You want a Samsung not a Samsong ????????scam
  6. This is not news Another news story in the Bangkok Post impending doom waiting for all the covid cases to break over the mixing of people's on Khao Sarn Rd over holiday. Just more fake hysteria. I'll bet anyone on this forum you won't see another article following about a massive outbreak of COVID-19 of any strain Truth is out
  7. 50k is 4x the minimum wage. Little - 25k. That would get you a simple lifestyle. You won't have any savings but your basics will be certainly met Most old people don't have or have need for much sex. Sex at 65 is clearly a want not a need. I lived in Pattaya for years on 375-500usd per month (35-38b USD). Never wanted for companionship, out drinking a few times a week and in gogos no less. I'd venture to say since about the coup 2006 there's an entirely new breed of expatriate. Aircon, western food (and restaurants), cable television, the internet, (fiber too lol), autos are all must haves. The cart track... Dunno, maybe a day at the beach? Maybe you and your child can build your own cart?
  8. I think the second part of your statement the correct one. Still, congenital, cancers one thing but most of us could take far better care of ourselves. I'm just running through a month++ where I've lost two kilos.
  9. In Thailand it doesn't have to be. Old people need little.
  10. Okay, Hitler... You can see how absolutely woke it is. Full on judging, admonishment, shaming, disclaiming.. Was Hitler nice to animals or children or have a good sense of humor or can cook a great schnitzel or a great ukulele player??
  11. I was speaking in general terms not specific to the Dick Chaney issue. You never seem to have got that. I remarked a number of times (agreeing) precisely what you stated. The question was framed entirely incorrectly. AI should generate what I want it to generate not what it thinks that I should have based on current political fads and fashions of the day. It is up to the end user to sort the wheat from the chaff. To decide what to use and what to toss or possibly what to rework and one's own words. I would expect if I asked it to list all the positive attributes of Hitler's personality it would not be able to do so and would fail miserably. Now we all know this Hitler trope very well and it's misuse. Hitler was probably pretty much an asshxle/s and a difficult guy to work for. But there must be some redeeming quality or qualities in the individual. I would suspect that AI has been programmed to not even address it in any meaningful sort of way. I just used Open AI to generate a positive 300w story on Jeffrey Epstein's positive personality traits. One trait, ability to connect with people. 85% 420words of disclaimer. Hilarious. There is indeed huge debate and controversy over climate change, covid issues, the absurdity that gender is not a simple matter dictated since forever by science and chromosomes, narratives and untruths are coming to light daily. This is a tool and it should function as required. If not then it's not a good tool. It's the decision of the person requesting the response to manage what they will use and how they will use it. The responsibility lies with the individual not with some nonsentient software.
  12. I've only been asked once in 30 years so I'd agree. But I think if you had a marriage license it would be a non-issue if he didn't have an onward ticket. Personally, I would rather have the marriage license then the onward ticket and I think it's got more weight. Being either or. I was though back in 1997 quite glad that I had saved that Bangladesh Biman ticket to Nepal
  13. Bring your Thai marriage certificate. Tell the IO you need to discuss some very important matters before you apply for an O Have pics on phone you together They won't hassle you.
  14. DCF died years ago Yes, talk about taxation without representation eh? That would truly be the American Expat Within the past year I applied and received for a passport online and receive the documentation. When I went to CW the immigration officer knew exactly what to do and I felt that the letter was totally insignificant to the process. This isn't an opinion that I'm simply offering here but at the time I had this feeling as well. So if it's any comfort I wouldn't be too worried about it at immigration.
  15. Lol Okay, so we move to a new condo and my wife buys a plastic eagle. I'm just laughing but ok. A week later I sent her a picture om Line with the pigeon sitting right next to the little eagle ???? best friends forever ????
  16. For instance, if you want to generate anything regarding Climate Change©®™ being a hoax which I believe that it is. Or question the covid narrative it will not do it. The best you can get is that it will pay lip service in the first paragraph or two and then the third paragraph it will offer a counter. Even if you ask to entirely omit the suspect paragraph it will not. Moreover if you ask it to rewrite it stating that the AI is entirely incorrect it will rewrite but it will be the same content in effect. I've not tried to challenge it with tranny or homosexual question but I'm sure it's much the same. Woke
  17. Absolutely But there's no getting around it's wokeness and bias.
  18. Just as bad, maybe worse. Lol, this is such overkill. Do you really think that a Thai teenager is going to create an AI image too fool your system when they can just stroll down the street and buy a bag of weed from any shop in which they can pass for 18. Many weed shops right now I expect her quite hard up and probably would sell to a kid that's 15 or 16. Banking security, great. That's cold comfort. It's weed... I don't want to be associated with it and I don't think that I am paranoid. I'm just a simple user and don't want to be on any list whatever that list might be. We are in a very scary age both politically and technologically speaking. Someone with your tech savvy I would expect to be a bit more clued in I think your business model is conflated, you overbuilt in anticipation of some massive new laws coming. Maybe you can lobby the parliament like they do in the United States and get them to pass these laws for you ???????? It's still not happened and won't. Even if it does it won't be enforced if you've been in Thailand long enough - you should know this. I recall the Bangkok pick / area picking up all stores. As I recall searching open only may have solved that. Something like that it's been a long time ago. The reviews are just pulled from Google and are worthless because all the shops are rated between 4 and 5 stars all with glowing reviews. You boast of b4,700 listings - many of those are closed already and by closed I don't mean store hours. In fairness, all the Weedmaps have this issue - but so does yours This is pretty cool ????. I must say you're a sharp dude and everything you do is top drawer. I don't at all question your integrity but I do worry about identity issues in general and even more so long. My guess is this is a big funded venture not just you in your underwear. I must say you certainly got out of the gate quickly. I found your website when I just started to poke around thinking I was going to much the same thing. I wanted to do my own reviews and YouTube videos which you don't feature. But then realize the effort and the cost and the time and what I could possibly get out of it and it was a non-starter. I think you really overshot but if Thailand does tighten up then you'll be ready for the kill. As for me I will just be going to my local shops. I don't smoke much weed and probably will even less in the near future. My experience in the general population in Thailand on holiday is ties are not big smokers. I think when the fad is gone you will find basically just the country bumpkin types and foreigners as the entire market. I suspect after the thrill is gone you will few people between 20 and 35 that are attempting to be productive in their lives buying this stuff. Weed is just not an Asian thing generally speaking imo. Good luck with your venture and if you ever open a real shop I would be happy to visit if it's near Central Bangkok or the MRT. I'm looking forward because you're buds and your prices look great
  19. Many years ago I felt this way. Living in ground zero Pattaya, not a very healthy life physically and I must admit spiritually. I decided that I probably would end up dead in 10 or 15 years of nothing else then cirrhosis of the liver or some sort of stabbing incident. It was then that I had decided to draw on my hobbies as a kid packed up my gear and really started traveling hardcore (long, remote, cheap) and left Pattaya. I never looked back and I never went back (one night to visit a friend). I got out and started circuiting around Asia again as the seasons allowed and spending lots of time back on the beach. I'm now with t my wife almost 15 years, she's a gem it's been a solid marriage. I can in some way credit her with a far better quality of life than I had settled on - and one I deserved better of. Through the years we had visited United States at least half a dozen times and the number of Asian countries. She's been to a few Scandinavian countries to visit her cousin a few times. She's been able to save about 1 million baht and I've also been able to save a considerable sum more than double that from work within Thailand. You're only as done as you feel assuming you have no serious illness. Reinvent yourself. Wisdom from a chronic alcoholic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULssS4D0XSg
  20. Lol, sorry. I think you'd misunderstood. Sorry for confusion. I was just positing the question generally and used your response to ask a related question.
  21. We are all easily found if the cops try. Here they had a bit of a push. The fact that this was an easy nab for the cops and so high profile I'm sure proved irresistible to the bib Thai government definitely keeps score on stuff like this especially human trafficking. That's why you see raids on pubs with 17-year-old girls inside and headlines of "human trafficking". This isn't human trafficking it's a bunch of girls gone bad with fake ID. Poor sobs When they go around for their annual spanking review (which is only tolerated to keep trade in place ) I'm sure that each one of these cases is pulled out in some way demonstrating their determination and steadfastness. ???? Viktor Boot remember that world villan? Biden traded him for a pothead. Mark Whatshisface - remember this clown with the JonBenet Ramsey circus?
  22. I had commented on a previous post and I'm sorry I just missed this I believe you've answered my question.. or not ???? So, can my body be released to my wife without the involvement of the embassy? If not, what would happen if they just let me rot? I'm sort of thinking that they would find a way to release my body then again it might just become another left body and become incinerated with all the others left behind. Do you think that they would at that point bill my wife for the time my body is in the morgue? If so, how much could that even be at the most? Even for a foreigner 30,000 b I'm dead serious. Pun intended.. but I'm serious ????
  23. Assuming there are no assets in the United States and no heirs Why? Why would the wife have to contact the United States? You finnit
