  1. That's a good point, though I would argue the West has indulged in mass bombing of civilians since the early 20th century, and the mowing down of natives with the Gatling gun in the 19th century. Chivalrous fighting has been discarded by the West for a long time. Even the Spaniards campaign in the New World was hardly chivalrous. Chivalry is a nice ideal, but the West rarely lives up to it.
  2. This disregards one crucial point, the West has been stupid in allowing unbridled immigration from the LOWEST sectors of society. I can assure you I've worked in the most prestigious law firm in the world and there was a Sri Lankan Partner who could outsmart you easily, some black lawyers. White clients would come to them and pay 800 pounds per hour for their advice. There are highly intelligent people in Pakistan, Turkey, Serbia, Russia, Mexico, Venezuela, however, if the West allows the lowest of the low stratas of those societies to immigrate you can't then say every black, Turk, Mexican etc is this way. They are not.
  3. It's true that Westerners are more honest in every day life, but history would not indicate that the West is more trustworthy in absolute terms, see the actions of the English in the Indian reservations in America, during the famine in Bengal or the deceit of Russia regarding NATO expansion. The West can be very deceptive und untrustworthy. Clearly the West is better at following rules, which you could argue is a sign of weak culture. Education, yes possibly the West has an edge still, true.
  4. In terms of civilized behaviour, when I enter a narrow hallway in the Virgin gym, and a Thai comes my way he does a gesture of respect, smiles and moves to the side to let you pass. That, to me, is civilized behaviour. If it were England, there is no guarantee the conflict would be resolved in this civilized way. In that sense Thais are more civilized, they are able to resolve issues without violence and aggression to a much greater degree than peole in the West. That is a sure sign of greater civilization.
  5. White European culture in the late 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st century developed a technological gap, due in part to accidents of geography, political development, disease resistance and other factors. A gap which is now narrowing. This enabled white culture to, let's say defeat a tribe in another place due to technology. Should this be seen as "strength" of a culture? Take China, who in the 19th century was carved up. China was weak technologically. Now China is strong technologically. Were the Chinese a weak culture in the 19th century because they did not have weapons that were technologically superior? The Chinese then were a weak culture, now today's Chinese are a strong culture? Do you see the problem with this? How do you define a "strong" culture? Attainments of civilization? But these are not just technological. You could not just sump up each technological achievement, they are not all worth 1 point, these achievements differ greatly in significance. Does the invention of the Gatling Gun outrank the invention of the alphabet? Does the invention of Geometry outrank the invention of the sniper rifle? If so by how much? You are on much safer ground if you try to determine if a person is weak or strong. Physically and intellectually. I am not saying for a minute that all people are equal, all cultures are equal, that's not the case obviously. Some people are stronger intellectually, physically, some races are stronger physically or intellectually. But when it comes to "white culture" being "strong or weak" that's a very weak argument, you'd have to make it more precise. What previous statement did you mean?
  6. But that does not mean anything. Yes, Europeans developed a technological gap, due to accidents of geography, climate and history. However, you can see clearly now that not only are the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans proving that they can achieve the highest technolgoical feats, even Africans can establish complex mobile phone networks. There is no glory in this temporary technological gap, which was only a snapshot in time anyway. The case for white cultural superiority is weak. When you realise what really caused the technological gap. Accidents of fate. I like the British very much and have no issue with them. Many of their achievements have been extraodinary, but one has to confine one's self to the facts and reality, one can't claim that because one is white and British therefore you automatically have cultural superioirty over Germans, French, Americans, Thais, Chinese or Koreans. To be born British is not to win in God's lottery. It's just another accident of birth, that can be beneficial or not, depending on circumstances. The British did not invent the telephone or television or bicycle. If you, yourself, prove yourself to be intellectual, physically superior then I will happily sing your praises, but if you claim you're superior because you're British or White, you're not even understanding history properly.
  7. Well, if you take laziness, and without a doubt, Indonesians say, are more lazy than the British, you have to immediately realise that this laziness is a clear product of the environment and geography. The reason Filipinos, Indonesians, etc are more lazy than the British, is that the weather is not conducive to running around working all day, and it makes a lot of sense to refrain from this. Again, because of enviroment, since fruit was abundant in the trees, why kill yourself working anyway? I am not dismissing white culture at all, it has been spectacular and it has dominated other cultures. What I am dismissing is the notion that this happened as a result of inherent superiority of white culture or white people. Because clearly that was not the case, it was an accident of geography, climate and other factors that led to the technology gap which started to emerge in the European's favour. It wasn't just that of course, it was also treachery, brutality and wild animalistic greed and violence, if you look at the Spanish conquest of the Amerindians for instance. In other words the exact OPPOSITE of civilization and cultural superiority. But in any event "White culture" is a myth, there's Spanish, English, Scottish, German, French, American culture and many shades in between, it's not a homogenous mass, English white people can't take credit for inventing the X rays, Germans can't take credit for inventing the steam engine. But in any event neither of those inventions confers an innate superiority on whites, Germans, English or Spanish or Americans.
  8. Excellent question. Jared Diamond wrote a whole book on this. In a word, geography and environment. When Europeans developed certain advantages, say resistance to certain diseases, this was not due to genetic superiority but rather to wide spread trade, agriculture and intermingling, this widespread trade was faciliated by geography. Diamond argues geographic, climatic and environmental characteristics which favored early development of stable agricultural societies ultimately led to immunity to diseases endemic in agricultural animals and the development of powerful, organized states capable of dominating others. Diamond argues that Eurasian civilization is not so much a product of ingenuity, but of opportunity and necessity. That is, civilization is not created out of superior intelligence, but is the result of a chain of developments, each made possible by certain preconditions. He said Europe's geography favored balkanization into smaller, closer nation-states, bordered by natural barriers of mountains, rivers, and coastline. Advanced civilization developed first in areas whose geography lacked these barriers, such as China, India and Mesopotamia. There, the ease of conquest meant they were dominated by large empires in which manufacturing, trade and knowledge flourished for millennia, while balkanized Europe remained more primitive. However, at a later stage of development, western Europe's fragmented governmental structure actually became an advantage. Monolithic, isolated empires without serious competition could continue mistaken policies – such as China squandering its naval mastery by banning the building of ocean-going ships – for long periods without immediate consequences. In Western Europe, by contrast, competition from immediate neighbors meant that governments could not afford to suppress economic and technological progress for long; if they did not correct their mistakes, they were out-competed and/or conquered relatively quickly. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guns,_Germs,_and_Steel Whilst Europeans did dominate other cultures, it is important to realise that it was due to technology. Not superior intellect or physical ability. If you put a gun in a short weak man's hand, he will shoot you, no matter how much stronger and smarter you are. The emergence of this technology however was an accident of geography, competition and necessity, not superior culture, genetics or strength.
  9. I would say Let it Be is the stand out on that list, but only if Ray Charles sings it. Yesterday a clear number two. And I love her number three. long and winding road, something, elanor rigby, it's only love could also be considered. Michelle is really bad imho But good effort.
  10. That would be very welcomed, awesome news. Start today!
  11. It's particularly strange because Anglo-Saxon psychologists have found that Koreans, Japanese and some Chinese have a higher IQ on average than the British, Americans, Germans. So when it comes to intlellectual capacity the Asians are ahead, when it comes to athletic ability Jamaicans, African Americans and Kenyans are ahead of whites. The case for white culture is rather weak.
  12. They're hardly "prominent", but they are all women. It is becoming increasing clear that this election is the battle of the sexes, women against men. Any man voting for Kamala Harris is a traitor to his gender.
  13. Well, what Beatles song would you say is better than Birds of a Feather?
  14. Well, it's hardly surprising that you're ill-informed in this since you would have been brought up in an educational system that lied to you and claimed literally every major achievement was British. However, with the TV you can take your pick, any of the Russian Boris Rosing, who got a patent before Baird, Paul Nipkow, Max Dieckmann, Vladimir Sworykin, Denes von Mihaly, August Karolus all produced a TV before Logie Baird. Indeed Logie Baird just copied Paul Nipkow's technology. Before the 1927 London to Glasgow TV broadcast of Baird, was August Karolus transmission from Berlin to Leipzig in 1925. Baird no more invented the TV than the Thais invented Prostitution. But it's funny isn't it, when the Chinese copy Western technology they're disgraceful copycats, when the British copy existing technology they're celebrated pioneers, lol.
  15. Newcastle, France, China, Japan and Korea are delightful.
  16. Yes, indeed the Telephone was not a Scottish invention. Philip Reis of Germany invented it. The same with the TV, Paul Nipkow and Ferdinand Braun were the inventors of the TV. Plasters were really conceived by Paul Beiersdorf, not any Scot. The bicycle was invented by Philip Moritz Fischer, not any Scot. Like I said, the British are utterly shameless in claiming inventions they never invented.
  17. When you talk about German cars, there's always one pitiful soul that pulls out some survey, but the fact remains Germans still build the best cars on the planet, as they once again proved with the Porsche Taycan. As I already explained copying others is just a first step. After all the British started as pirates and stole everything from the Spanish and copied their idea of empire shamelessly. In academica the calculus and other areas illustrate the British were a nation of copyists and plagiarists, before they attained a modicum of creativity and originality, which admittedly was short lived. The same applied to German industry, yes, first engaged in copying British products, but ultimately far surpassing them and creating far better products than the British ever did. And so it will be with the Chinese, yes, they copied at first, but they are already showing incredible innovation and filing more patents than the US, UK or Germany, and they will surpass Germany, Japan and the USA in terms of quality of products, indeed in some areas have already done so.
  18. It looks like it. While the Scots have punched massively above their weight and brought forth many brilliant minds and contributed far in excess of their miniscule population, we should also take them to task when they falsely claim to have invented the telephone or tv, neither were Scottish inventions. Nor were the bicycle or plaster Scottish inventions. The British have a tendency to claim inventions which they never invented. Witness also the ludicrous acrobatics to claim the computer with Charles Babbage's punch cards, even in that area Wilhelm Schickard preceded Babbage, though to sell that as a computer really smacks of shamelessness.
  19. This nonsense was trotted out before, to attack the quality of German goods in the 19th century, when Germans were copying British products. As it turned out Germans were better at making products than the British and BMW now own Rolls Royce. It is already apparent that the same applies to Asian products made in China, and Chinese innovations will far exceed anything the British, Americans or Germans came up with. They are already filing more patents than the Americans.
  20. Monotheism, Christianity and such trifles as the alphabet spring to mind, but there's also: Printing press: China. Geometry: Mesopotamian and Egyptian. Gunpowder: China. Paper: China, Ball bearing: Been used since ancient times; Mesopotamian and Egyptian and others. Early writing systems: Mesopotamia and Phoenicians Calculus: Elements of calculus can be found on ancient Egypt, Greece, China, and the Middle East. Crubile steel: India and Sri Lanka 1st millennium. Carbon steel: Invented by the Haya people around 100 AD and other ironworking technology. The concept of zero: Mesoamerica, India Calendars: ancient Sumerian Cryptocurrency: Japan
  21. Yes, and whilst Thais are a delightful people, I have to confess, I have trouble following their superiority narrative. Even if they are clearly more civilized, friendlier and trustworthy than most White people, I woud still struggle to buy into a superiority narrative from Thais. Physically, intellectually, culturally, the Thais are respectable but in terms of superiority to others, even in Asia it would be hard to make that claim pass muster objectively. The same with similar claims in the Caribbean. For a nation to claim to be superior, they would have to have some serious claim to physical, intellectual and cultural superiority. Not just one based on sentimentality or emotion.
  22. I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 9 from 2019 which works magnificently, but if I had a choice I would opt for the Realme 12 Plus 5 G the next time around. Samsung phones charge too slowly.
  23. This is so true, even in the Caribbean, when I was living there the locals saw their own culture as superior, not blackness as such though, but Caribbean character, they saw themselves, as more honest, sweeter, more trustworthy and nicer than white people. The Slavs clearly think they are superior to the degenerate West, and if you go to Somalia I would not be surprised the Somalians found a reason to think themselves superior in some way. Of course none of this precludes that a particularly people is not actually superior, objectively, rather than subjectively.
  24. If Trump does not win in November the whole world will have lost. Instead a war mongering enabler of one of the most corrupt states in history, Ukraine, would be pushing Russia ever more closer to a hot war with the US, which is a disaster for the whole world. Harris wants to pour gasoline on the fire in Ukraine, like they, Harris, Biden and Boris Johnson, were doing from the start. It stands to reason that this is the most reckless, dangerous policy for the world. Luckily it looks like Trump will win and get a chance to defuse the situation, if not end the war entirely. What women see in that short, ugly moustachioed Ukrainian comedian, will remain a mystery though.
