  1. I honestly don't know why tourists keep coming back here, the first visit was ok, but after that my view of Thailand has gone downhill ever since. I just don't see the attraction, unless you are an aging expat who wants chase young girls around and sit on a barstool every night.
  2. Well, they should check the CCTV's, he may have flashed his highbeams first, which should have warned everyone to get out of his way.
  3. You can't make this stuff up, classic.
  4. Does Joe Ferrari, or his successor, have first bids?
  5. Unsurprisingly, I don't care what Thai's think. I have a right to defend myself, and I will do so at all costs.
  6. My daughter was with me each time, which is why they felt my wrath. Getting within inches of someone in a Zebra crossing is attempted murder in my book, I will defend my daughter and myself at all costs. Exactly how do you see me losing? I am more than half way cross a Zebra crossing, and a car is trying to run me over.....it's against the law, a 4000 baht fine for doing so, 40,000 baht fine if they hit me in the crossing. The only one going to lose will be the driver. But I've stopped walking to pick her up anymore, too dangerous, but when I have too, I also am wearing my DJI actioncamera on the magnetic necklace to cover myself against aggressive and dangerous drivers who will no doubt lie.
  7. Hasn't stopped me yet, I think I am up to 4 people who've felt my wrath. Like I said, it's self-defense, they tried to hit me with their 4000lb weapon in a Zebra crossing.
  8. Wasn't it just last week that the Hotel Industry were crying to TAT to help them because of low bookings?
  9. He better act before I do, he'll be lucky to even exit his door. My violence level knows no boundaries, it would be a monumental mistake for a Thai to confront me without acting first.
  10. So the solution is to remove their rights to drive, the safety of the Kingdom should come first.
  11. That'll teach him for not wearing his lucky amulet that day, it's just fate, definitely nothing to do with lack of safety.
  12. I've never seen the RTP actually working, what exactly do they do all day? I checked and they have the same amount of police as the USA does per 100,000 people, but you never see them doing anything.
  13. He's probably still at the hospital arguing with the front desk as to how he is going to pay for this.
  14. Automatic fire suppression systems would be a good idea on these buses.
  15. With an average IQ score of 88 in Thailand, we shouldn't expect much.
  16. Not sure he did a runner, they said he was hit by "airport taxi with a green registration plate" and there is a green plate on the white car in the photo.
  17. It doesn't make much difference, nobody cares here in my district, they literally will run you over in the Zebra crossing, they don't even care about the students using them to get to and leave school. This is with multiple blue triangle signs everywhere, then you'll also find people parked directly inside blocking the Zebra crossing, or double parked right up to the edge of one (in a no-parking zone!). It's insane, if I was a cop I could make millions of baht every day with ticketed fines, I'll be the first to sign up if they want Foreigners to take on the task.
  18. I got a plan, the government should immediately reduce the salary of all RTP employees, then tell them if they want to earn more then they can get out on the streets and make them safer. Use the money made on tickets and towing to pay for bonuses to those RTP stations who show by results that they are making the public safer for drivers and pedestrians alike.
  19. I don't know about there, but here there are many blue triangle Zebra crossing signs, warning drivers, and obviously the Zebra crossing itself. The drivers are being warned that the area is a Pedestrian Crossing "ZONE", not just one specific crossing, all drivers should use caution.....AND SLOW DOWN AND LOOK!
  20. No it's not your imagination, it's exactly the situation that got the black BMW in my previous post a nice dent her door.
  21. I would say most of us just transferred our foreign drivers license to Thai Drivers licenses, I did so for both my USA Vehicle license and Motorcycle license. Though I had extensive drivers training already back home, including the MSF (Motorcycle Safety Foundation) courses. I also read up thoroughly on the Thai Traffic Act, which isn't much different from laws back home, but you'll find Thai drivers have very little understanding of their own laws/rules (ignorance is bliss I guess).
  22. I put a nice dent in the side of a black BMW suv with my daughters school bags wheels once while 2/3's of the way across a Zebra crossing, they learn, they just learn the hard way 😉
  23. My wife insists on buying condos, which she rents out, they will be her security for the future.
  24. I can be in the middle of the road here, and Thai's won't stop.
