  1. Neither would I, but I have a wife and daughter, until my wife comes around and gives up on this 'cesspool"......then I am stuck.
  2. I'd just bring my family back home to rural USA where I loved my life, where its safe, clean, and beautiful. I've seen nothing in Thailand that would make me want to live here more than anywhere else, my list of negatives for Thailand is a mile long.
  3. I would be more surprised if their wasn't any fraud, this is the land of scams, frauds, corruption, greed, selfishness. All the vices are represented here...
  4. Appeals should be heard only in cases where there is doubt or circumstantial evidence, anyone caught in the act of murder and convicted, should be executed within the month.
  5. It's not just the old guard, its Thai culture itself that needs to change, otherwise the cycle will continue.
  6. He and his ilk should have been executed.
  7. If I were "wealthier", the last place I would ever want to live is in this cesspool......I think the Thai government is delusional!
  8. It's not only countries, I ran into the same issue with the state of Massachusetts (USA) when working remotely as a digital nomad with a home address in Massachusetts.
  9. It's disgusting how much money these temples have, especially on the backs of poor people thinking they can buy their way to a better afterlife.
  10. Obviously he isn't privy to the deepest darkest secrets, because a 12 to 0 vote is about as ironclad as it gets.
  11. One of my biggest pet peeves about the education here, they are almost always celebrating something or taking multiple days off for the ridiculous amount of holidays here.....Drives me nuts! I asked my wife how the kids can get an education when they seem to be constantly on holiday or celebrating here, it never ends.
  12. I was thinking the same thing, put the Bt500 billion Digital Wallet money into education, it will do way more good that way.
  13. I'm betting almost all of it ends up in the pockets of the CP Group.
  14. My daughter drives the teachers nuts, she is only 8 years old but questions them tirelessly, especially when she knows something is wrong......the stories she tells me about some conversations cracks me up....LOL
  15. In Thailand, corruption is the norm, it's engrained into the society and culture here as a whole, just like selfishness and greed.
  16. Which is why owning rental property in the US scares me, I sold my house when I went back in April, sick of the costs and headaches. May buy again in the future, but for now I'll just stay on the sidelines.
  17. I would say from the overwhelming vote reaffirming his dismissal, that whatever he knows, it isn't enough to scare them.
  18. You don't have to pay any taxes and you can get free everything is the USA, just walk over the border and demand your entitlements.
  19. Yeah, I saw that too, it reaffirms the OP here and what the RD is up to, not good.
  20. They want to reduce hours to save money, its that simple.......but don't expect that saved money will help anyone but the bureaucrats. "Bt200 trillion" ?!?! I don't think so....LOL
  21. 500 Billion baht here, 500 billion baht there, money just grows on trees here.
  22. Initially set at 7.6 billion baht (US$ 205.5 million), the budget was reduced to 4.1 billion baht (US$ 110 million). “The cut will hurt the project's overall efficiency,” lamented the deputy minister.
  23. Growth is about to go off a cliff, they should probably stop smoking their own stash.
  24. Average IQ here is 88, so.
  25. No, its about taking money from education to feed other programs, but I see the propaganda is working.
