Crackdown reveals 2,000 fake vehicle registrations in Thailand
lordgrinz replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
A proper police force would be continuously pulling over bad/illegal drivers and checking licenses, registrations, and insurance. Doing so regularly would more than likely catch a lot of illegally operated vehicles, and have the added benefit of increasing public safety and compliance while saving lives. But nope, we get the incompetent RTP who work for themselves and further their criminal mafia enterprise under the persona of Royal dignity. -
Thai Language Seen as Vital National Symbol, Survey Shows
lordgrinz replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I can't pick up the differences in tones, so I gave up long ago on learning Thai. I also find the high pitched sounds they make sometimes sounds like they are arguing to me. It's like Quint scraping his nails on a chalkboard, it's not a very calming language. -

High hopes: Anutin’s green light for cannabis bill in Thailand
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Adding another vice to an already lawless society with out-of-control corruption, is the worst idea for the country. Work on eliminating/reducing corruption (and the culture that embraces it), start enforcing existing laws and regulations (abolish the RTP and start over again), only then should they talk about relaxing cannabis laws.- 48 replies

It looks like a fairly slow (30-50mph) two way road, I assume based on the pictures, that the Porsche passed into the other lane and made the bike swerve into the Ford Focus head-on. You can see the impact on the proper driving side, and the debris from the impact to the left side of the road. If that bike had just went left to the shoulder they might have survived, but split-second decisions can be devastating, sad all-around.

lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Yes, switch to Elite, MP's, and RTP who will take over the distribution of the "kick backs". -

Well, knowing the RTP, their members should be running all of the cannabis shops by the end of next year, and pushing out the small mom and pop shops. Anyone who thinks this will do anything good for Thailand is delusional. Thailand is not ready for legalization of cannabis, they need to work on instituting a real police force first, then enforcing existing laws (all of them), along with rooting out long entrenched corruption. You can't add relaxing of drugs in a society of lawbreakers and corrupt entities and expect positive results.

Digital Wallet Scheme Excludes 18 Products and Services
lordgrinz replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they wanted their citizen to "benefit" from a "program", they would have spent the B500 Billion on education, especially in poorer areas. This boondoggle will do nothing for the economy, absolutely nothing, but you can bet that the "rich" will indeed "benefit" form this the most.- 33 replies
