  1. I don't think it would. But I am of the opinion that they should enforce a 4 month stay in the home country every couple of years. A way to ensure that these visas are truly "Non resident".
  2. Must be that buyers were rich and influential...
  3. Not if they if they keep going the way of the LTR visa; the pension doesn't have to be paid into a Thai bank while the health insurance doesn't have to be in Thai either. The whole paperwork can be in English and processed online. Can be done from home in less than a couple of hours.
  4. I find it amusing that the OP reads almost as if it was MFP that was responsible for this situation. While the 250 unelected parasites could just let them do the work they have been elected for.
  5. Warranty is very important, as many of these TVs can die after a few years. Some brands, such as Sony, give 3 years while others, like LG, only one year. The when it comes to OLED vs LCD you should know that OLED performs better in dark environments and has the drawback of a shorter life time. While LCD with full array backlight come very close to OLED an can be viewed in brighter rooms.
  6. Indeed, what is the difference between a guy picking his nose over the next paragraph of a business case and a guy picking his nose over his next witty post on Aseannow?
  7. Everything about Thais has been written here so many times. And obviously it is all true.
  8. Better, you could open the roof and drive standing.
  9. Yep, I used to drive this in my younger years, wasn't a rally car and I managed to stop it, most of the time. And, some may say it is more advance than the Fortuner as it was a front wheel drive.
  10. Inferior cornering, inferior braking and inferior protection of the driver and passengers.
  11. Sure, and yet you don't have a truck bonnet in your face as in the [2015] Fortuner. BTW my post was saying that the CRV driving position is more elevated than that of a sedan.
  12. Fixed rear axle, drum brakes and rigid chassis that doesn't absorb impact through deformation.
  13. Yes, of course, the Toyota gave me that distinct truck feeling while the CRV has the feeling of a sedan, with a more elevated driver position. Before moving to Thailand I had been zipping around Tel Aviv in a small Renault Modus and when I got the CRV didn't need any adjustment at all.
  14. My wife is 1.52 meters and has no problem whatsoever driving a 2022 CRV. I am 1.82 and when sitting behind the wheel of a Fortuner I thought I couldn't see the road. Hence the CRV.
  15. "other Brits" of our social class, more importantly.
  16. Decided to spend a few days in Krung Thep during the long week end. And honestly, Central world is packed with hordes of happy friendly Thai folks enjoying their shopping and Japanese food. Absolutely so sign of the shame nor bitterness you believe they should feel. To be honest I have no idea what you are talking about. While I agree that that the political situation is appalling I reckon that the Thai folks have their way to tell "eff u" to the people in power.
  17. I'd support the CX-30 and Corolla Cross. My preferences would be for the Mazda, but I don't like driving 200 kms to get a car serviced.
