Concerns could arise with the public unrest it can creat if the party is dissolved. This could lead to the army once again hitting the streets to contain the unrest and the next chapter will be a bis repetita placent of the past: the brown uniforms will be back to rule ? hopefully it won't happen but nobody knows. This will surely scare away foreign investment anyhow.

Maintenance is less on electric cars for sure. But the price tag to get it maintained will increase for the owner. Thus, it will hit back on sales and people will stick to their fossil run cars as long as they can.

Complicated scenario of abuse, passports and marriage
Sigmund replied to Na Fan's topic in General Topics
What is with all these lonely farangs who get legally involved with marriage ? Have they not learnt with time ? Have your fun, be with a girl but getting involved legally ? Some just seem to look for the trouble in thinking their girl is different. She is not. She is all nice and better then those in Europe for sure, but it's also cultural. Just far to many differences that are normal, but that can lead to highly toxic relationships and having the farang loose everything he as. Is that a way to finish one's existence ? -
Immigration releases statement on crackdowns on foreign offenders
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Any excuse is good to take out the hate against foreigners in Thailand. Any incident here or there, triggers nationwide xenophobia or racism. No wonder the tourist numbers dwindle and people talk once they get back home and people now get news fast via social media on how countries function. -
Look also how the home insurance works in Thailand. A real nightmare with many firms even via brokers, that only offer partial coverage in their packages or rule out certain items from their policies like all electronic portable media (that means laptops etc9, they harass and ask for every invoice, ask for pictures, invade fully one's privacy...better to shop if possible for home insurance in europe where many firms offer coverage for residences abroad with more reliable policies.

Foreign couple condemned for sex antics on Phuket beach (video)
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
For us distinguished judges of ASEAN forums, we wold need to see the full footage with no scrambling of the images to give a fair verdict on the quality of the interaction. -
it's up to the managers of the developpment to take matter in hand. Why not hire private security to bump the rowdy east europeans, Russians or whoever, out of the area ? Rude and drunks can come from anyplace. And at worse, send video footage back to some friend living abroad and ask him to name and shame the developpment all over social media. Don't do it yourself when in Thailand for obvious reasons.

Some locals also do have a sort of sense of entitlement in taking other peoples property or boundries for granted. But it seems more satisfying to rant against a Swiss guy who is rich and has a big property. Finally, signs do not help in Thailand. Only a high rise secured fence keeps the unwanted at bay.

As Israel attacks Rafah, US offers only words of caution
Sigmund replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
The Biden gang in power is loosing sympathy day by day all over Europe and probably the world for tolerating these war crimes of Israel. It's more and more obvious that all the fuss about Russia was plainly for money and ot remove a country that was (and still is) selling commodities and oil to Europe. Just remember that Russia has the biggest reserves of natural ressources in the world. Like the ruskys or not, is up to you. But claiming that the world can turn it's back to Russia is just another Big Joke of the Biden cronies team. -

I would definately go back to Europe. It will avoid having to deal with all the hostility and rudness sometimes in many immigration or government offices in Thailand. Not all of them, but quite a few unfortunately. -
Use Google Translate. it will avoid you getting scammed or cheated or sharing your lifestyle with some stranger.
-
I would either go to purchase online or take the quick trip to Bangkok. Far better service in Bangkok malls and less scamming in prices towards farangs. Hua Hin menans getting very often cheated and over charged if you are a farang, no matter where or who you ask.
-
On the other hand you have many popular farang managed pool-villa developpments in the Black Mountain area, with big show of security guards at the barrier. Most of the time they just wave people in and never check. Maybe just a means to justify the over charged monthly common fee all the house owners have to shell out.

One point to always have in mind with Hua Hin restaurants. Once you like a place and become sort of a regular, you will usually see the quality of service dropping as well as the quality of the food they will give you. Same with many other services like tailors, handymen, gardners or similar services, that you use regularly. The usual thai mistake to start to take the regular foreigner customer for granted. The best way to avoid this, is to have a good set of places you like and at the slightest glitch in service or quality, just drop the place for a few weeks or better a month. It's some form of absurd local logic in taking regular customers for granted, so don't fall for it.

Thailand braces for 38-degree heatwave with potential thunderstorms
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good if there are few showers with wind hopefully, as the air quality in Thailand and mainly Bangkok and south bound around Hua Hin is regularly reaching alarming toxic levels that go beyond the WHO norms. If Thailand does not take drastic steps to reduce private cars in urban areas, in 10 to 20 years, people will need gas masks before hitting the streets in Hua Hin or Bangkok.
