Police Dismantle Intl. Drug Network in Bangkok's Nana area
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Well it did not take those fine Africains kingpins to get fresh drug peddlars back on the streets of Bangkok as they are again all over. -
Cannot say for this poor chap. RIP to him. But just look all over at those other oldje 60 or 70 year olds hopping all over, boozing or smoking themselves to death, overeating and squandering their money with 25 year old , rent-a-week prostitutes ? They are all over the food courts and malls in Hua Hin or Pattaya. Sad really.

Phuket Tourist Police target unregistered airport taxis
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
How about targetting the registered cheats who overcharge foreigners ? -
Thailand caught in a cycle of low GDP growth and high household debt
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
How can there be growth if the main source of cash is compromised ? Prices have highly increased on many services. People are openly cheating the main big spenders in Thailand, that is the retirees-expats. (not the 2 week tourists). Consequently, these wealthy people do not spend their money on services and goods with retailers in Thailand any more and online shopping that often quotes half the prices are used instead. -

Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
With all the big money the cops make in bribes and corruption. the still cannot repay their debts ? Really. On the other hand, walk past any large Police station and get amazed with the latest model brand new cars in the staff parkings. -
Free drive on Bangkok expressways this Saturday
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Wow big deal. How about being a bit more conscious of the bad air all over and rather make public transport, skytrain, etc free instead ? -
Some tourists also really behave foolishly, leave their stuff unattended all over, take everything for granted. If one is foolish, one get's robbed or in trouble. Always use basic vigilence and common sense both in the homeland or abroad.

As a foreigners never buy in Thailand as life will be made difficult all along the bureaucratic process and the cheating. Not to mention the rudeness of some officials towards farangs in many road transport related offices all over.

American expat escapes Thai jail time for scathing hotel review
Sigmund replied to snoop1130's topic in Eastern Thailand
Always give out on such bad services, only once out of thailand and use an account that you do not touch when back in Land of Scams. Consumers are fed up with bad service all over Thailand and the firms who take foreigners for cash cows.- 133 replies

People are already having a horrific image of US politics with the US sanctions against Russia that is causing inflation all over and the american support to the genocide in Gaza by Israel. So what could possibly be worse with Trump ? At best he will end the war and stop supplying weapons all over and encourage all parties to go someplace and reach an agreement to restablish peace.

But even Apple warranty is limited in time. And much of the issues arise usually when the warranty or apple care is long past. So at the end of the day you end up spending even more with an Apple. And btw, I only use Mac but i am starting to get annoyed with the hardware that does not last in time and the suspicious way it all runs slow after a few years. All is done just to push consumers to get a new unit. Not to mention the older versions that are not supported after some years and no more driver updates or safety steps.

Is Linux as secure as OsX ? Is it easy to install ? Can it be installed on Mac or only or a PC laptop ? Can one use Linux normally to browse, make digital payment etc...use it like any other normal operating system ? Sorry for the stupid questions.

No politician is any better or worse then the former or the latter. It's all about running the country and costing as little as possible on public money. Wasting as little as possible of public tax payers money. You can like or not like Trump. But he won't go on a spending spree of public money to encourage wars all over the world. During Tump's previous term in office, all the corporate pension investments over the world made profits like they never did. This is the only reality that would be of concern. The rest is just a disgusting political game that all politicians and the media like to play globally. I prefer a nasty, despicable chap in power, but who will make money for himself and the country and the tax payers, rather then some over aged bureaucrat, who has never earned money for himself and only lived thanks to his salary paid with tax money.

Any foreigner looking to get involved in a fight, has no place in Thailand, no matter how much money they may or may not have.

Far to many tourists from the USA, UK, Australia, NZ who land in Thailand with absolutely no health insurance back home. The western Europeans on the other hand all have compulsory health insurance by law, that fully covers abroad.

Second Bank Account.
Sigmund replied to NoshowJones's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
The staff is surely more polite in smaller areas of Thailand. I just recall how rude the lady was in Bangkok Bank branch in Hua Hin in the basement of a swanky mall (don't remember the name). Far more polite staff in Bangkok Bank in Bangkok in various areas. -
A bit like the "common fees" that many pool villa communities charge monthly. The rates can be absurd. Not to mention many such developpments that make a cut on the electrical and water fees every month, as the supply first passes throught the developpment. I have visited such pool villa developpments in Hua hin that were charging 3000 THB per month just for the "common fee" (electrical, pool, gardener and water not included) and the maintenance and cleaning of the common spaces was not done properly. F Foreigners need to think twice before buying property in Thailand as once you purchase. the entire tone of the developpers can change. They won't answer your requests or overcharge for small maintenance services. Of course all are not like this, but many. Mainly in beach towns, full of retired farangs who seem to enjoy getting cheated.

Bangkok administration lacks funding to build three mass transit lines
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
All for Bangkok , but what about the high speed train from Bangkok to the south with a stop in Hua Hin ? That's where the quality retirees are and big spenders live and of course where the prices are of course excessive and often almost as expensive as in the US or Europe with all the cheats in real estate, and services (electric, cleaners, transport or plumbers for instance). -
That famous so called top store is no good as they do not carry the major world class brands. Ok those ladies in their tight business suits-uniforms can look good, but we do not go there for a massage (?), but to get quality products. And that is far from being the case. By experience, get your reading and power specs-glasses done back in Europe if possible, Even in the USA, when I though I was getting a great deal during a visit long time ago, they just sold me some chinese crap. Even for eye shades, avoid buyin here as far to much scams and fakes all over Thailand.

Thailand sees 13.3% increase in foreign tourists over Chinese New Year
Sigmund replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The chinks Chinese rarely spend in any business in Thailand, other then those run by Chinese, who usually send back part of the profit money to China. Guess one will be hearing more loud sounds of arguments, throat clearing and spitting during the next fortnight ? -
A handful or mouthfull stock of "happy ends" included with the fresh towels ? 😜
