On a order placed COD on Shopee, and delivery with J T Express in Hua Hin, the delivery chap pretended he did not have his machine charged for a QR payment. Obviously the crook thought I did not have the correct amount to pay and he would then pretend not to have change. The usual trick. Except that I had anticipated such attitude and had also the exact amount in cash just in case. His face fell and he got no tip. Such behaviour will harm tourism and business in Thailand. Such delivery people who try to cheat the quality spenders deserve to be sacked on the spot,

SCB branch in Hua Hin Market Village for exemple, has highly more polite and efficient staff, compared to the other big bank players in the area. SCB will be a choice when I close my account in either Bangkok bank or Kasikorn where the staff is rude.

With all the big spenders from Europe, it is normal that retail business is boosted in december january. If in the process of changing the washing maching, stay away from those swanky shiny high-tech machines that look like karaoké party speakers. Sure it looks nice to display in a home but far to much tech and very delicate if left unused for long months, Get the cheapest one in the shop with no swanky leds or functions. Strong chances are it will last longer.

Ever since I recall these stamps always had cash value. So all the more reason to ask for them as some dishonest staff at these counters do not give them out when it's a falang buying. I always watch a bit before paying and if I see others getting, I ask if I will also have. I have seen those staff in Bangkok or Hua Hin saying "no have any more" to a falang and giving out the stamps when the next customer usually Thai started to challenge. Always ask before buying as there are enough 7/11 all over.

I would rather spend a holiday in a nice turkish beach resort, rather then go to Gaza and get murdered by the Israeli army.

This is not specific to Pattaya. I have seen and rented a pool villa in one of those popular Hua Hin developpments in Hin Lek Fai. Just a few years back, the villas almost brand new, had all their paint cripping and it was sad to see that from outside. I had many electrical issues also in that almost new house with bulbs fusing almost each time I switched the lights ON Yup, the whole place has mainly farang-thai couples living and the developpment managment was all farangs. Some of the full time residents told me they were paying a fortune per month in those "Community fees". I pointed out the flaws to one of the guys in charge, but he seemed just to say that's how it was, it was nothing to bother and really did not seem to give a sh... Needless to say, I did not make a purchase in that popular developpment. Those people just don't care as they always find foolish farang people to throw money for bad construction and finishes in Hua Hin. Bad building, bad property management is common all over Thailand. Before buying, always talk to the owners first as they are the best "agents" to speak about the property. Not all are bad but many. Check well before and if you see the slightest sign of bad maintenance or paint comming off, just leave.
