I would like to understand how or why regular infusions of foreign currency by expats on long term visas of any kind other than work visas should be considered more taxable than an affluent tourist who extends visa status for months and who potentially spends more per day but less by duration of stay? Every form of foreign currency that enters Thai is a 100% gain and yet becomes a target for taxable consideration. Encourage "digital nomad" commerce then strip the suckers too ! The backlash may be costly !

Visa or not he is commenting on the status of people entering his home country while located in Thailand. Am I disallowed to speculate on his right to comment status if he questions others ? Sam is also presumptive enough to now quote longevity in Thailand as 17 years yet in other topics has said comes and goes. I have been in Thailand virtually permanently for 22 years. In the current "woke " climate I have interpreted his forum identity as Tran Sam. He has yet to actually deny my interpretation.

I was actually questioning the validity of your personalized and accusative toward a forum member basically accusing him of support for illegal immigrants while you are making such comment while resident in a country where you are unlikely to have legal resident status yourself. Whats with your pompous stand down crap Sam ? Are you a junior relative of Maggie Thatcher ?

On par with covid shots then ?

Investigations and eventual apportioning of culpability is and never was exactly reassuring to the families of victims or for potential future passengers ! At least not when after the Max 8 disasters should have resulted in total diligence across the spectrum of aircraft production. It seems blame shifting and corporate legal diversions continue to obscure the original motivation of cost saving for maximized profit. Is Human life now considered so excessive in number it can be dismissed so easily ?

Israel is at War - General discussion (pt3)

It seems that Gantz is introducing some rationality in the face of Netanyahu's apparent single minded dedication to render Israel a middle eastern political orphan. -
"Relative to one or no vaccination, COVID-19 vaccination was tied to an 82% lower risk of death from any cause"... A magic bullet now? "a 13% reduced risk of infection over 6 months." ? Covid infection risk? "More than 64 million global heart-failure patients". An impressive statistic but without directed reference to any other information. Excuse me for not interpreting the intent of the presented article in any positive way.

Walk with a Weighted Vest to Lose Weight
0ffshore360 replied to save the frogs's topic in I'm Too Fat Forum
I wear my weighted vest a little lower than chest height. I wear it everywhere. I wear when I sleep. When I wake. When I walk. Even when I talk. I wear it while my grand daughter pokes it and laughs. Did Doctor Seuss cover this topic? -
Which Durian do you prefer? Pick your favourite
0ffshore360 replied to george's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Over the years spent in South East Asia I have often tasted Durian. I have no problem with the taste or texture while actually eating but have problems coping with the vomitous after taste and smell. Or should I say originally. I was not aware there were so many "varieties" as illustrated above but there is one "hybrid" that has eliminated a large percentage of the smell and after taste I dislike. Problem is I have no idea now of which one it is. Having originally taste tested in Indonesia where Thai durian is considered primo compared to local product it took me a while to try fresh durian once ensconced in Thailand. Still not my first choice of something nature intended to be left to rot in order to nurture it's seed ! Fully ripened pineapple wins for me. -
Thailand Unveils 10-Year Visa to Attract Top Global Talent
0ffshore360 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You are not wrong. Little or nothing of above declarations of implementation of "intent" will materialize. In terms of industrial upgrades or development there will be a concentration of adopted ai intelligence applied to any or all mechanized production which may/will require short term experienced technicians importing acquired skills . Tripling farmers incomes? There is a dream stae claim. Agricultural products from Thailand already compete with same from other sources that have economies secondary to Thailand. Any deserving increase at all for the agricultural community would destroy all types of exports . Not that the agricultural export economy could not reward farmer's output better but because the protection racket involved in export of product will never relinguish profiteered gains ! If there are those who can not realize the capacity of such gains need only contemplate the gravity of Yingluck's avoidance of issues with the "rice Scheme". -

Perhaps a sop to counter those who argue Thai rules on the presence of non tourists are basically xenophobic? -
Advice needed : super sight surgery

I would suggest checking out Rutnin Eye Hospital. It is basically the single most eyesight focused hospital in Thailand and more. Cataracts and Lasik comparatives? -
Beloved Brit found dead in Thailand hotel room

Whatever the cause I empathize with the apparent shock his family is experiencing. Yet more so for the tragic death of an unsupervised toddler crossing a soi. -
Beloved Brit found dead in Thailand hotel room

If it was his express wish to be buried in Wales then why not have travel insurance that provides repatriation of his corpse? As to cause of death it amazes me that so many consider an age bracket as some sort of measure of invulnerability from cardiac issues or sudden onset of pulmonary infection involving a type of pneumonia ? -
Just what is life like in Rural Thailand- ever wondered ?
0ffshore360 replied to CharlieH's topic in General Topics
Can only agree about the music. But over the last 15 years it has decreased in terms of frequency and duration IMO. I put it down to a combination of decreasing tolerance and decreasing age group that enjoys it....related in an ironic sense. -
Since first using the online option for my 90 day report I have never had a failure/rejection. On at least one occasion involving annual extension approval a congenial Imm. Officer has reset my 90 day report date as from same date. In theory that would presume 90day reports would almost coincide with next annual extension date. Unfortunately that has never happened. I have diligently relied on the emailed reminder of upcoming 90 day compliance and dutifully completed the process some days later but always prior to last official expiry date. Despite success the next date for compliance has never demonstrated correlation to either date of online application OR original expiry date. I have concluded that although the 90 day report is a generic online application it is assigned by Passport number to appropriate Immigration Office. It is processed by way of manual assessment at each Provincial Office and approval also responded to by manual input the generic app. Variations in dates nominated in the event of success and consecutive next compliance date are the result of personal decisions about what date to nominate at time of input. I have seen some mention receiving approvals within minutes or hours. I have never received in less than 4 days or more. Has anyone experienced the result of an online application made in the 7 day time period tolerated for in person applications?

Gone totally deaf in my ‘good’ ear…….?

More likely insufficient course or minimally effective antibiotics that subdues an infection rather than eliminating. Rebound infection then harder to treat.
