  1. How stupid. When there is news of a criminal straight person, you'd have to be INSANE to blame all straight people.
  2. You've been snookered. The game they're playing is to create really difficult bureaucratic hoops to go through especially for the poorest, which will result in kicking off as many people as possible. This is INTENTIONAL.
  3. Timed required cuts every year to Medicare. Reduction in services. Medicaid cuts as stated much bigger. ACA too.
  4. I don't often comments on emoji responses, but I'm really wondering why I got even one (so far) down vote on this post. What's the problem? You don't believe the bill includes massive cuts to Medicaid and Medicare? You don't like to hear anything that reflects badly on Trump's policies even if they are his policies accurately represented? You're mad I didn't call it the big "beautiful" bill? I was tempted to call it the big ugly bill which is my opinion, but I restrained myself for the sake of discussion of a bipartisan topic. I also didn't mention the obvious reason for these cuts -- to help fund cutting taxes for the RICHEST Americans which is of course immoral and obscene. You don't think people in declining health sometimes repatriate for Medicare/Medicaid?
  5. Color me skeptical, but I do NOT believe that. Wait for actual reports.
  6. Exempted but in previous version may have had it withheld for future irs refund.
  7. I haven't heard word about softening those medical cuts. In fact there are senators trying to make the cuts even harsher.
  8. Regarding Trump's big bill, he appears to now have the votes in the senate to pass it soon. The bill that will probably pass includes MASSIVE cuts to both Medicaid and Medicare. Admittedly the cuts to Medicaid will be the more severe but it was promised that Medicare wouldn't be touched, but that turns out to be a BIG LIE. In my opinion, the main reason long term retired American expats repatriate is because of declining health and to take advantage of Medicare/Medicaid benefits. But with the probably imminent bill passage, both will be significantly reduced, it seems to me that reason to repatriate to the US will become less compelling especially considering all the other economic hits the repatriated face. BTW -- you may think you're "too rich" to ever worry about Medicaid but what often happens is that people end up spending down and needing long term care paid by Medicaid. You probably can't afford privately paid long term care.
  9. Resident Alien This is really a lot of fun!
  10. The justice system of Israel is none of Trump's business. But his interest in understandable. One criminal supporting another criminal.
  11. In case you don't know about this channel, it's amazing and it's creator is a wonderful human being. He is no longer Inside Russia but is very educated on economic and energy industry topics and has extensive contacts in country. There is even entertainment value on his weekly Crazy Russia News offering. I'm posting this about his problem with google demonetization. He's in a real Kafkaesque situation and it's very unfair. It's looking hopeless now but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas that might still give some hope?
  12. Again, the verification documentation needed was already given to immigration to get the TM30. Extensions required TM30s. They're all in the same organization -- Thai immigration! Of course they can require whatever they like, but this is a case of a redundant requirement.
  13. Trump has done worse than abandoning Ukraine. He has actively supported Russia. That said, Biden was indeed much better and not a traitor like Trump, but he was very afraid of Putin's nuclear threats, and never helped Ukraine enough to have any chance of winning. Only enough to hang on.
  14. Would be required? Very vague. Which offices? Starting at what date or already happening?
  15. Not at Jomtien. If you gave it, it wasn't required. Before TM30 requirement for extensions which is relatively recent, I was giving as proof of address a copy of my phone / internet bill or electrity bill. They had on record that I was an owner from my first extension. Long ago but even then they didn't ask for the chanote!
  16. I was talking about workers doing remittances. Even one percent tax on those transfers is cruel considering most are poor people sending money to their poor families to help them just survive.
  17. Medvedev is a drunken lunatic. Scaring the west with nuke threats is a key part of Putin's propaganda game. Emphasis on threats.
  18. Stock market only a tiny bit higher than when he took office. Inflation is not low. Tariffs are aggravating it. India contests Trump's claim. Israel Iran conflict not over. Billions NOT saved by Doge.
  19. Thanks for that. The thing I suggest be added is about the chanote and blue or yellow book for condo owners not previously required for extensions at Jomtien.
  20. I'm actually surprised to hear this good news. I'm wondering how it happened. I seriously doubt the change was done out of regard for the well being of American expats. I think more likely the banking lobby which presumably is very powerful made it clear they don't want to have to deal with the additional work to enforce this.
  21. I think only hospital based dental clinics do that. I've had good experiences with Ocean Dental Jomtien.
  22. The OBJECTIVE REALITY of EXACTLY what the damage was to Iran's nuclear program is very important and will make a big difference about the future of this conflict between Israel / U.S. and Iran. We do know by now that extensive damage was done but we certainly do not know if it's been totally obliterated as claimed by the white house from day one. Don't delude yourselves that the conflict is over. Most people here seem to be playing very stupid partisan "gotcha" political games around this issue. Grow up. This is serious stuff. Opinion | Diplomacy with Iran depends on the damage to its nuclear program - The Washington Post www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2025/06/27/iran-airstrikes-nuclear-program-fordow-uranium-diplomacy/ An interesting prediction that Trump is going to attack Iran again soon from a traditional (not maga) republican commentator.
  23. I don't approve of soaking those workers or that big ugly bill in general but if this report is true, that is very good news for the typical American expat in Thailand who does remittances.
