Yeah it's my impression that there's not much to do there. I already did all the Songkhla stuff. I can get great Thai, Isaan, Chinese, and western food in Pattaya. So for an eating trip I'm looking for different. Surely regional southern Thai would be a treat and some of the Chinese would be different there as well. But on the fence if that's enough for an eating focused trip. Oh well. Thanks for the feedback (pun intended).

Yeah that's close to what I expected but maybe a bit worse. Not sold on this trip for eating purposes if it's going to be weak on Malaysian food. I might be happier overall in Bangkok for basically everything.

Beyond that Hamas (charter says Kill All Jews) is on record as intending to do further October 7 style attacks, again and again and again. Israel says NEVER AGAIN and what decent person can deny them that right?

I've been to Songkhla before and enjoyed it but at that time didn't bother going into Hat Yai. I've also been numerous times to Malaysia but I'd rather not spend money there anymore based on political considerations. I love Singapore and that's a food paradise as well but it's gotten too expensive. Anyway, I do know that Hat Yai is mostly a tourism magnet for Malaysians (lots of naughty ones too) so f-rang tourists there are rather rare. I know that they have regional Thai food, Chinese, Thai-Chinese, and Malaysian food. Much is made of their fried chicken. I'm wondering about the Malaysian part of that. Do Malaysians actually go there and eat much Malaysian food? Why would they? Or perhaps enough of the local Thais have similar food to Malaysian? I know it won't be as good as Penang or KL, but will there even be enough decent Malaysian food to satisfy?

Yeah he did, not sure why. I watched part of the debate and it seemed to me mostly a wash. I don't know why Haley even agreed to it. DeSantis was basically done -- why give him a chance for a comeback? From my POV as a not republican, Christie was the most acceptable republican choice for the country. Haley or DeSantis are both horrible but not as horrible as Trump who is 100 times worse.

It's not a matter of right or wrong. I assume you're talking about the risk of coming clean, asking for a solution (probably a planned overstay), then possibly being rejected, then going to an agent. So would such a rejection preclude using an agent? I don't know -- sounds possible certainly. Which might mean going to an agent first wouldn't be a horrible option either.

Not going to argue with that per se, but people are not getting arrested if legit stamps. I recall numerous reports of people getting legit stamps but not from their local office, which means future address reporting got messed up.

That question doesn't interest me but I want to say that a large percentage of gay men (in my opinion the majority globally) are perceived as straight in public without the need of any acting. It is sad when gay men who don't feel the need to act like something they are not. That's internalized homophobia.

Again, based on decades on this forum, I don't believe this is a real risk for expats using agents as long as the stamp is legit. But I will say others that can report such instances are most welcome to post about that. We should be open to changing our opinions based on evidence. To be clear in no way imaginable am I a promoter of using agents, but I find fear mongering despicable as well.
