About the brokerage account aspect. A brokerage account might have a cash bucket part in it. Perhaps a money market fund or something like that. I don't think that firm has opined on whether TRD would accept that cash bucket part the same way as cash in a regular non-brokerage bank account. Someone should ask them. It seems a grey area.

Israelis do have mandatory service (with exceptions) for men, women, trans, and intersex but presumably some would serve non-potential combat roles depending on their particulars. They get a chunk of money after service so If you see on a budget groups of young Israelis in Thailand and other popular destinations, there's a very good chance they're taking their after service long holiday abroad. For many that's their last hurrah before going back to stressful full blown adulting. I wonder how that compares to Amish Rumpspringa. (Very wild times!)

I think it's verifiable fact that the Muslim world has treated Palestinians badly. Look at Lebanon. They could have been fully integrated decades ago, but no they are eternal refugees hanging on to their giant keys to houses that no longer exist. That is STUPID. I read a survey that indicated that republicans don't mind at all if Trump acts as king and makes the USA a dictatorship as long as he's on their side. Disgusting! Imagine if Soros was doing what Musk is doing now. I guarantee you the democrats would NOT support that! Magas claim to be so pro-American. They're actually anti-American and proof of that is how thrilled Putin and Xi are about what's happening.

It was mentioned that people are sharing their experiences here with Israelis in Thailand. Although I do believe the negative reports when they happen and I understand the bad reputation, I have never personally witnessed anything like that here. I have encountered Israelis MANY times in restaurants and even in a synagogue that I have been to because of their restaurant. As a generality, they were cliquish, smoked a lot, were often a bit brash, definitely self confident, if approached about something like to ask something about the food answered normally but not quick to instant friendliness like Americans, ordered food normally, ate normally, paid their checks normally without any complaining or drama, etc. But these were at Israeli owned businesses. It might be different to see the same groups elsewhere, I don't know. Well I did have one funny experience with that. It's not often you'll find Israelis at Iranian restaurants but I witnessed this at an Iranian buffet. I read them as Isaeli instantly. Not sure if the Iranians did, but why wouldn't they. This group was unusually polite!

Yeah the Trump honeymoon is already over, probably the shortest one in modern history. His ratings are now under water. More and more people (other than the 30 percent hard core maga fascist cult members) are realizing it was all a BAIT and SWITCH. The behaviour of Musk -- government by the billionaires for the billionaires, illegally stealing data of so many Americans (data is money to companies like X) is starting to sink in and totally freak people out and not only democrats. For the cult, it will probably be a matter of waiting for the leopard to eat their face.

Just posting my opinion from reading the forum so long. I'm sure that you know that you never want to put yourself in such a vulnerable position. But if you can't possibly avoid it, my impression is that it's common (though never guaranteed) for immigration to allow being a little late by just charging an overstay fine (I think 500 a day). Obviously having a good excuse such as medical would be helpful so bring evidence of that.

That is well known and long standing. They tend to be very cliquish and stay in their Israeli bubble. But other nationalities do that as well. If people want to say those Israelis are the absolute worse, well, maybe they are. I don't feel I could judge that. Of course I have encountered quite reasonably behaving Israelis in Thailand, even young ones. So I think it is rather odious to assert ALL Israelis or ALL anyone are like this or that.
