  1. You apparently didn't read the article. No, none of that, but haters gonna hate. It's apparently become BOTH good politics and good policy in Thailand for politicians on different sides to support LGBT civil rights. Good news indeed. Civil rights in general should be a non-partisan issue in Thailand and everywhere.
  2. He will be a convicted felon (with a possible pending jail term) on election day as the appeals process will take years. No other convicted felon gets to be treated as a non felon during the appeals process just in case an appeal is successful. As far as a possible prison term, any other felon who has shown no remorse for their crimes upon conviction (which will be explored by his probation officer before sentencing) would be sentenced to prison. It will be interesting if his public persona is saying one thing and he says something else to his probation officer. Who knows with that grand grifter?
  3. A tool to consider. https://www.bestplaces.net/ Search US locations and it shows a minimum income to live comfortably. For examples 100,800 for a single person in San Jose and 26800 in Weirton WV.
  4. I've noticed my FB is now filled with bizarre DeNiro attack memes. The cult of dear leader has a new "enemy" to focus on. At least he can afford security.
  5. Could be all those bad dye jobs soaked into his brain.
  6. If you think DeNiro is a communist you have oroblems that can't be addressed on this forum.
  7. I want to address a previous comment asserting that where gays retire are places straight people don't retire. That is mostly untrue as gay people retire to places that are generally attractive to a wide range of people but also welcoming enough or at least not hostile to gay people. But there are also some places that ate super gay "ghettos" that it would be true have little appeal to non gays. Such as Wilton Manors Florida. Many more non gays retire to the Ft. Lauderdale area than gays but non gays generally wouldn't move to Wilton Manors. A more typical generally attractive to all who can afford it retirement destination would be San Diego.
  8. These guys are dissing Lancaster. I think if a person is willing to take the weather in Erie that they should also consider Cleveland and Buffalo. There are some great things about Buffalo. Could be a good long term investment considering climate change. But this is about retired people ha ha.
  9. Pennsylvania is getting a lot of attention in the general best more affordable places to retire media. Yeah I recall a wealthy gay relative bought property in New Hope. Yes I've been there but very long ago. Personally I can't relate to picking such a low population place that's hours from this, hours from that, etc. I want lots where I am. I wouldn't consider a place under 30 to 50k population. https://pennwatch.org/harrisburg-tops-2024-list-of-best-places-to-retire-in-the-u-s/ The top 10 “Best Places to Retire” for 2024 include: #1: Harrisburg PENNSYLVANIA #2: Reading PENNSYLVANIA #3: Lancaster PENNSYLVANIA #4: Scranton PENNSYLVANIA #5: Allentown PENNSYLVANIA #6: New York City #7: York PENNSYLVANIA #8: Daytona Beach, Fla. #9: Youngstown, Ohio #10: Pittsburgh PENNSYLVANIA
  10. To each his own but I don't understand why gay people would want to move to New Hope when they could move to Pittsburgh, Philly, or one of the great smaller cities. Pennsylvania is very blue in the cities. I see tiny New Hope with a population of about 2000 people as a weekend day trip from Philly. Seen one antique store seen them all.
  11. Some more ideas Evansville IN Very low cost. Southern Indiana so warmer. Probably need a car. Lousville KY A bigger city so lots of amenities. Possibly some neighborhoods no car. Wilmington NC Desirable as on the coast. Probably too extensive but downtown might be possible without a car. Worthy of research.
  12. I remember when I cancelled my US auto insurance when I moved abroad. I had super loyalty decades with never an accident rates and I joked with the customer service lady that my status wouldn't be honored if I ever moved back. She said they would. I laughed.
  13. Not about being nice. The Irish appear to be irrationally projecting traumas from their own history on the conflict. The trouble is they are completely different histories.
  14. The UN created an Arab state as well but the Arab world decided to start a war instead.
  15. There are many many places in the US where you can rent a one bedroom apartment for under 1000 a month. Such places will have lower costs for most everything as well but generally you'll need a car. But not in places that would be most people's top choices to live. Debt is another story. The is no problem living in the US for 5k a month but you need to make wise choices.
  16. Here's the difference. Seagal, a talentless hack as an actor, a western traitor in fascist Russia has worked for many years to provide propaganda to his new home, fascist Russia. DeNiro, an American patriot, one of the most talented film actors in history, has taken it upon himself to advocate for a normal pro democracy American president against a convicted felon ex president fascist cult leader. I think people are influenced by celebrities. Whether they should or shouldn't be is another question.
  17. If he's elected president, any restrictions including if he's in prison, vanish.
  18. I get your point though I think the U.S. needs a strong presidency but not a monarch or dictator. No way will Biden pardon Trump.
