  1. You're welcome to your fantasy. First time I've heard of heaven being an all you can buffet though.
  2. For other people, perhaps. But if it's you, then it's just more sleep. Eternal sleep.
  3. I hate when that happens! BTW -- what does a bubble tea sales ASSISTANT do exactly? Senior bubble tea sales person -- You'll love this bubble tea. But it now. 10 percent off! Assistant: Bubbles.
  4. Not sure nothing is so bad. Is being asleep such a horror?
  5. Not personally impacted. I would have been happy for him to stay as Pope for much longer. He was my favorite Pope in my lifetime. I'll be curious to watch the traditional pick a Pope ritual they will go through but have low expectations that the new guy will be an improvement.
  6. Again he was not deported. He disappeared to an offshore concentration camp. For what exactly? Entering illegally at age 16 to save his life? Suspicion of gang membership that almost definitely is not true? Yet the fascist Trump regime still wants him in the concentration camp for life. This is who is in power now in the U.S. They want people to be afraid of their evil actions and intent and it's very rational for people to feel that way. It's either fight back or it gets much much worse very very quickly.
  7. People saying this shouldn't be looked at politically are playing the fake outrage game. Vance and the Pope had a very public conflict previously. That there was political tension in the meeting is an undeniable FACT. Indeed as the article below explains, the exchange between the white house and the Pope over Vance's revisionist right wing reading of Catholic dogma was nearly unprecedented in modern history. So again enough with this poppycock that's it's not OK to talk politics now. Also look at the Pope's last speech to the public which featured many positions that directly conflict with the Trump regime. 8. Well Catholics believe in a glorious afterlife for believers. Good luck with that.
  9. It was clear that the Pope was both very ill and also not thrilled about who his guest was. Coincidence or not that meeting between good and evil will be a permanent footnote of history. I wish he could have had an audience with a decent world leader in his last hours instead.
  10. As good as a pope can get. A wonderful symbol of Christian compassion to all. Also good that he didn't resign first. Sad for him that his last public visit from a dignatory was from the very uncompassionate very bullying US VP. The timing is certainly interesting.
  11. I did this at the embassy. The waiting room was fairly empty so it was rather stressful. The staff can't be a winess. I succeeded in getting help from the waiting room. Think about it. Would you help if asked? I would. I was prepared with bribe money. I would avoid an appointment near closing time. .
  12. It's a bit early. We don't even know yet if we're going to have legitimate midterms yet. One step at a time boys.
  13. Off topic. This isn't about support or opposition to Israel. It's about a domestic issue of civil rights for dissenters with any view, popular or not. A core American value in a time when the fascist Trump regime is attacking all core American values. I agree that the fascist Trump regime is cynically using Jews (without their consent) to further his xenophobic immigration agenda. The same Trump that dines with Nazis. American Jews are not that stupid.
  14. Don't quit your day job for a career in Putin fan fiction. I don't believe that even you actually believe that tripe.
  15. Trump isn't even on Ukraine's side.
  16. I agree he is not guilty. However if returned to the US he can be legally deported to anywhere but El Salvador or they can rescind the order to block to El Salvador. But that would mean a regular deportation with due process. Not being disappeared with no due process to an offshore concentration camp. It's clear to me the Trump fascist regime wants him either dead or failing that still locked up abroad, but definitely NOT back to live with his family in the US. It's maga. Cruelty is the point.
  17. Good point. There would be many options in the free world which no longer includes the USA. His family might be more comfortable in an Anglophone country. He's basically a political prisoner now and he is definitely at great risk of being murdered. As far as money he can get an agent and negotiate some kind of multi mlllion dollar book/movie/exclusive press deal. Then he can seed a business from that. His family used to sell papusas. They're really good and can be sold anywhere.
  18. Yeah like I'm gonna take personal advice from an anonymous member who is constantly TROLLING.
  19. Bizarro world post. This is an expat forum but according to you there is something wrong with being an expat. Maybe you're on the wrong forum. I didn't leave the U.S. for political reasons but I don't know why anyone in their right mind would want to even visit Trump world dystopian U.S, as a tourist now much less repatriate. As far as Garcia, if as he should be released from El Salvador prison as he has committed no crime, I'll take the fascist Trump regime at their word that they won't ever let him back to live in the U.S. It's his life and I hope he gets it back, but it seems to me a best choice for him is to be welcomed as a refugee in another Latin American country and his wife and kids can join him if they want to. I think he can make money talking about what the Trump fascists did to him.
  20. You might consider applying to be Stephen Miller's assistant.
