I have another idea for convenience and I'm really looking for convenience. For example, the way I do broccoli as a side dish is cut into pieces, microwave covered with a little water for 2.5 minutes at 80 percent power. Works as a side veg for Chinese or western. I always file FBARs because I am required. Not everyone who has bank accounts abroad are required. There are very specific rules. If not required, it would be really dumb to file FBARs.

I don't think anyone here as yet has answered my actual and very specific question (that had the premise to keep it simple that all income was from SS) So if your total SS income is above the filing requirement threshold but half of your SS income is below it, are you required to file or not?

The last government killed that. Sure any new government in the future could approve it but very doubtful land would be cleared just wishing for that to happen.

Thanks for mentioning that. I was thinking that too. The provisional structures were only a tiny portion of the cleared land (facing Tappraya road). The area was also convenient for baht bus drivers to stop and have a piss.

When I started this topic, I was hoping (not expecting) that there are some people out there that actually have inside information about the plans (or lack thereof) for that large cleared space. No luck there but there's always rumors, guessing, speculation, and joking. A hypothetical question that I have is that IF the plan is for a luxury shopping mall (and also new condos, hotels, etc.) IF the monorail plan does not get approved, would that nix the project? It seems to me that without the monorail station there such a project makes less sense.
