Trump ahead in all battleground states - ALL OF THEM!
Jingthing replied to theblether's topic in Political Soapbox
I take a balanced approach to reading the tea leaves. Looking at the fundementals such as early voter turnout, the keys system of Allan Lichtman, with much less interest in polling. I've got my own predictions now: Harris will win Pennsylvania and Georgia. Harris will win the electoral vote but narrowly. Trump will claim that he won very early well before the electoral count is certain. The maga fascist deep state of anti-democracy will fight very hard with an army of lawyers to create social unrest, even violence to overturn their loss (as they did last time but this time much better prepared so BEWARE!) up until January 20 when Harris will be inaugurated. Needless to say I could be wrong. As far as the psychology of the polling posted here, it could be argued such numbers will encourage more Harris voters to turn out (as it's so close within margin or error) and Trump fans to stay home thinking he's won anyway. Cheers.- 814 replies

Yes western leadership to help Ukraine just (maybe) survive instead of to win is clearly making things harder in the long run. If the convicted felon in the US comes to power and engineers some kind of bogus temporary cease fire falsely labelled as a peace plan, that effect will be multiplied exponentially.

What Do Expats Think Of Andrew Tate?
Jingthing replied to 123Stodg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Not a sexpat but I have an opinion. Regardless of his personal no doubt horrible behavior, I consider him a major modern global villain due to his popularity among millions of young men, poisoning their minds.- 131 replies

I missed the two season family comedy sitcom The War at Home back in 2005 - 2007 but my algorithm served me up this compilation about it's one gay character and I found it very funny, so I'm tempted to sample the actual show. Weirdly it got bad reviews the first season, but good reviews even winning awards the second, then cancelled. Yeah, both full seasons are on youtube. -
Expanding on the point about what happens if Trump loses but manages to take power anyway, I think the mainstream assumption is that he will fail in doing that. HOPEFULLY SO! But even with failing there will be lots of unrest the details of which are impossible to predict. But the black hole question for me is what if he succeeds? Surely there would be some kind of resistance movement to fight that even after he takes power. Yes he would deploy the national guard even the military to arrest such people (remember what happened in Turkiye?) but would it really be so easy to put that down?

I'm not really a George Will kind of guy, but I think he's correct that World War 3 has already started and that the west isn't facing up to that reality (but the axis of autocracy is). He points out something interesting. As World War 3 is the most important thing happening on the planet now, why is foreign policy such a back burner issue in the US presidential campaign for both candidates (which he contrasts to the 1940 US election). I guess the reason is probably the American people don't want to hear about it. It's kind of like the cliche about politics taken to war -- you may not be interested in war but war is interested in you. He makes a good point, but I have some hope at least that Harris not being a Putin loving isolationist is the much better choice to step up to the plate when facing the issue becomes a necessity. Note the opinion piece by George Will was recently published in the Washington Post but behind a paywall so I won't link to it but I have given my source that I'm reacting to. It is titled: World War III is already under way. Not that Harris or Trump has noticed. A new axis is sowing global disorder. The U.S. presidential campaign is what reckless disregard looks like.

If Ttump wins the electoral college even though it may quite possibly take days or weeks to determine that, VP Harris will quickly concede her defeat just as Hillary Clinton did. But in my view VP Harris will win the electoral college, probably narrowly, possibly widely. In that case, the "fun" will just be beginning. Be prepared for a historic level of unrest AFTER election day, because if Trump loses the electoral college, that's what we're in for. This is real. It's been quite apparent to anyone paying attention for a very long time. I can't take anyone seriously that thinks Trump will just concede a loss and not fight to overturn a losing result. That is IMPOSSIBLE. Consider this the first (albeit premature) POST election day political topic here.

May I suggest that anyone spreading propaganda that Russia is a democracy that has real elections for president is a person to be ignored. Why waste your time on such silliness? -
